  • In this paper a $6^{th}$ 1MHz~30MHz bandpass filter for Power line communication(PLC) modem receiver is designed using current mode synthesis method which is good to design the low-voltage and low-power filter. The designed bandpass filter is composed of cascade connecting between $3^{rd}$ Butterworth highpass filter and $3^{rd}$ Chebychev lowpass filter. As a core circuit in the current-mode filter, a current-mode integrator is designed with new architecture which can improve gain and unity gain frequency of the integrator. The gain and the unity gain frequency of the designed integrator is each 32.2dB and 247MHz. And the cutoff frequency of the designed $6^{th}$ bandpass filter can be controlled to 50MHz from 200KHz according to controlling voltage and the power consumption is 2.85mW with supply voltage, 1.8V. The designed bandpass filter was verified using a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS parameter.

  • This paper presents a CMOS interface circuit for MEMS acceleration sensor. It consists of a capacitance to voltage converter(CVC), a second-order switched-capacitor (SC) integrator and comparator. A bandgap reference(BGR) has been designed to supply a stable bias to the circuit and a ${\Sigma}{\Delta}$ Modulator with chopper - stabilization(CHS) has also been designed for more suppression of the low frequency noise and offset. As a result, the output of this ${\Sigma}{\Delta}$ Modulator increases about 10% duty cycle when the input voltage amplitude increases 100mV and the sensitivity is x, y-axis 0.45v/g, z-axis 0.28V/g. This work is designed and implemented in a 0.35um CMOS technology with a supply voltage of 3.3V and a sampling frequency of 3MHz sampling frequency. The size of the designed chip including PADs is $0.96mm{\times}0.85mm$.

  • SiC MOSFETs require a faster and more reliable short-circuit protection circuit than conventional methods due to narrow short-circuit withstand times. Therefore, this research proposes a short-circuit protection circuit using a current-sensing circuit based on Rogowski coil. The method of designing the current-sensing circuit, which is a component of the proposed circuit, is presented first. The integrator and input/output filter that compose the current-sensing circuit are designed to have a wide bandwidth for accurately measuring short-circuit currents with high di/dt. The precision of the designed sensing circuit is verified on a double pulse test (DPT). In addition, the sensing accuracy according to the bandwidth of the filters and the number of turns of the Rogowski coil is analyzed. Next, the entire short-circuit protection circuit with the current-sensing circuit is designed in consideration of the fast short-circuit shutdown time. To verify the performance of this circuit, a short-circuit test is conducted for two cases of short-circuit conditions that can occur in the half-bridge structure. Finally, the short-circuit shutdown time is measured to confirm the suitability of the proposed protection circuit for the SiC MOSFET short-circuit protection.

  • This work is aimed to measure the deterioration in oil sensor. For the study, the circuit of a coil-type oil sensor packaged was developed and applied to the automobile engine for monitoring the deterioration of engine oil in driving conditions. From the principle which the deterioration of automobile engine oil can be expressed to the dielectric constant, the capacitance bridge circuit and the integrator circuit were designed. As results, the range of operating temperature of engine oil was experimentally recommended within $55^{\circ}C$ for the stability of a sensor designed. It was also concluded that the characteristics of output voltage converted from the dielectric constant were linearly distributed and predicted the optimized time for the exchange of engine oil.

  • A ratio type of capacitance measurement circuit is proposed to measure an extremely small value of the fF capacitance on this paper. This measurement circuit is formed with a switched-capacitor integrator, a comparator, and logic circuit blocks to control the switches. It converts the measured ratio value between the known value of on-chip capacitor and the unknown value of capacitor to the digital signal. The fF capacitance with minimized error can be obtained by calculating this ratio. This proposed circuit is designed with standard CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ process, and various HSpice simulations prove that this capacitance measurement circuit is able to measure the capacitance under 5fF with less than ${\pm}0.3%$ error rate.

  • A 3-5 GHz UWB radar chip in 0.13 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process is presented in this paper. The UWB radar transceiver for surveillance and biometric applications adopts the equivalent time sampling architecture and 4-channel time interleaved samplers to relax the impractical sampling frequency and enhance the overall scanning time. The RF front end (RFFE) includes the wideband LNA and 4-way RF power splitter, and the analog signal processing part consists of the high speed track & hold (T&H) / sample & hold (S&H) and integrator. The interleaved timing clocks are generated using a delay locked loop. The UWB transmitter employs the digitally synthesized topology. The measured NF of RFFE is 9.5 dB in 3-5 GHz. And DLL timing resolution is 50 ps. The measured spectrum of UWB transmitter shows the center frequency within 3-5 GHz satisfying the FCC spectrum mask. The power consumption of receiver and transmitter are 106.5 mW and 57 mW at 1.5 V supply, respectively.

  • This paper presents a new CMOS fully-differential second-generation current conveyor (FDCCII). The proposed FDCCII is based on a fully-differential difference transconductor as an input stage and two class AB output stages. Besides the proposed FDCCII circuit operating at a supply voltage of ${\pm}1.5\;V$, it has a total standby current of $380\;{\mu}A$. The applications of the FDCCII to realize a variable gain amplifier, fully-differential integrator, and fully-differential second-order bandpass filter are given. The proposed FDCII and its applications are simulated using CMOS $0.35\;{\mu}m$ technology.
