In this paper, we propose a workflow framework for the integrated logistics systems. We modelled the logistics activities into workflows, which allow clear specification and flexible modification of business processes. To specify workflows, we used petri-net that is extended to handle with information flows. A framework to implement the integrated logistics system using workflow management technology is proposed. Since logistics is closely related with other parts of enterprise such as manufacturing and accounting, the framework could capture a rich features required for enterprise-wide systems.

This paper presents the concepts of Process Innovation and Concurrent Engineering in view of their use within Integrated CAD Systems. It follows by proposing process models that support an effective implementation. The work is practically founded on the authors' experience in performing the initial steps of implementation of some of such integrated systems for the construction industry.

Nowadays, the modeling of systems have been enabled by various models and methodologies that are used for different purpose and perspectives upon the systems. The integrated modeling methodology that integrates these models and methodologies has become challenging issues in system integration such as CIM and PDM. The primary objective of this paper is to propose the comprehensive integrated modeling methodology that integrates the Extended IDEF0 function model, OOIDEF0 information model, navigation model, interface model, and organization model for an effective analysis and design of the CIMS for ship production. This methodology can be used for the integrated system, and cover the systems development life cycle in an integrated fashion. In order to prove the consistency and efficiency of the proposed methodology, the CIMS for ship production is modeled.

There have been strong arguments that the best organizational type for the information society is a network organization which is intelligent and learning-oriented as well as has problem solving capacities rather than a traditional passive organization which strictly follows standard operating procedures. In this perspective, integrated information work environment emerges as attractive work environment for the 21st century. Integrated information work environment is defined as an integrated electronic environment that is available to and readily accessible be each employee and is structured to provide immediate, individualized on-line access to the full range of information, software, guidance, advice and assistance, data, images, tools, and assessment and monitoring systems to permit job performance with minimal support and intervention by others. Case study was performed to measure the productivity improvement by implementing integrated information work environment in life insurance company. The results show that there is a number of indications of strong work productivity improvements.

In this paper, we purpose the integrated TMS to solve the problem of current systems. The current system resulted in inconvenience because customers and users must contact to each system, when they want to know the information about orders. In this research, we develope a system with which customers and users can confirm all of order information from one system. To solve this problem, the information brought from two systems is integrated by constructing integrated database.

The paper describes the integrated design system using MDO and approximation technique. In MDO related research, final target is an integrated and automated MDO framework systems. However, in order to construct the integrated design system, the prerequisite condition is how much save computational cost because of iterative process in optimization design and lots of data information in CAD/CAE integration. Therefore, this paper presents that an efficient approximation method, Adaptive Approximation, is a competent strategy via MDO framework systems.

With the success of flexible manufacturing systems(FMSs), flexible assembly systems(FASs) have been developed to automatic factories further. As in a cellular FMS, a celluar FAS is considered as the most flexible and feasible assembly systems configuration. This paper presents a method for the integrated layout design in cellular FASs. Unlike the traditional paper, this paper deals with the formation of cells and the layout of cells for jobs with operation times on different machines. The procedure in this paper consists of two distinct phases. The first phase presents machine arrangement in a double rows flowline. cell formation not to allow intercellular movements, and integrated layout design in cellular FASs considering the characteristics of FAS, layout, and production factors This phase uses older optimal algorithm. The second phase proposes to balance the system with an objective of reducing the degree of workload deviation in the cells. Simulated annealing method is used to balance the system. This phase also shows the integrated layout design in cellular FASs with the cost less than total cost of the first phase.

This study introduce how distributed object technology can be applied effectively to use in a integrated structural design systems environment with the rapid increasement in the use of network technology. The architecture and management models of the developed systems are described by the CORBA(Com mon Object Request Broke Architecture) distribution standard and objects in Java language. The proposed system can be used for communicating with data between remote designers, regardless of the H/W or S/W platforms they use. Introduction of distributed objects methodologies to a Integrated structural design systems provide advanced levels of integration in structural design environment.

In this study, we propose an improved group location tracking scheme (GLS) called integrated GLS (IGLS) which, in addition to the group location registration of the GLS, sends an integrated group registration message to a virtual visitor location register (VVLR) instead of sending an individual group registration message. This integrated procedure of proposed scheme leads registration cost of group registration and group location registration to be reduced significantly. Numerical results demonstrate that our proposed IGLS outperforms conventional GLS and delayed GLS (dGLS). The IGLS can be applied effectively on public transportation systems such as subway, train and bus.
