Case Study on the Mitigation of Dangerous Slope Considering the Value of Geoheritage (지질유산 가치를 고려한 위험비탈면 보존 방안 사례 연구)

  • Various geological structures are found on the slope of Bangnim district in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, based on the Paleozoic Joseon Supergroup Limestone. The recumbent fold observed on the slope is a very rare geological structure that has not been found in Korea, and has important academic value in exploring the formation process of the Paleozoic geological structures in the Gangwon region. In this study, discussed the geological value of the geological structure observed on the slope of the road, and studied the management method of rockfall problem slopes. The state of development of recumbent folds has conservation value in geological scarcity and specificity. Preservation management measures should be prepared through the protection of slopes and measures to reduce of rockfall risks as geoheritage with an important value in geology science and education. Furthermore, it is expected to be preserved and utilized as a geopark.

Proposal of Wireless Communication Method and Candidate Frequency Band for Constructing the Integrated Radio Networks for Railroads (철도통합 무선망 구축을 위한 무선통신방식과 후보주파수대역 제안)

  • These days, interest in radio networks for railways has increased both at home and abroad. In response to this trend, not only the existing radio networks which focus on railway control signals but also the next-generation integrated radio network that can send videos and manage mass storage data are actively being investigated. This paper proposes wireless communication methods to establish integrated radio networks for railways. The paper further suggests a candidate frequency band that could be allocated as the frequency band for railways among the frequency bands currently used in Korea. Based on this paper, we can expect that the domestic railroad will operate more efficiently and that security and convenience of the railroad will reach a superior level. In addition, the Korean integrated radio networks for railways, which cope with the changes in the global technology market, will be established.

  • To estimate the location of the train, we consider an integrated navigation system that combines Inertial Navigation System (INS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This system provides accurate navigation results in open sky by combining only the advantages of both systems. However, since measurement update cannot be performed in GNSS signal blocked areas such as tunnels, mountain, and urban areas, pure INS is used. The error of navigation information increases in this area. In order to reduce this problem, the train's Non-Holonomic Constraints (NHC) information can be used. Therefore, we deal with the INS/GNSS/NHC integrated navigation system in this paper. However, in the process of installing the navigation system on the train, a Mounting Misalignment Error of the IMU (MMEI) inevitably occurs. In this case, if the NHC is used without correcting the error, the navigation error becomes even larger. To solve this problem, a method of easily estimating the MMEI without an external device is introduced. The navigation filter is designed using the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) by considering the MMEI. It is assumed that there is no vertical misalignment error, so only the horizontal misalignment error is considered. The performance of the integrated navigation system according to the presence or absence of the MMEI and the estimation performance of the MMEI according to the method of using NHC information are analyzed based on simulation. As a result, it is confirmed that the MMEI is accurately estimated by using the NHC information together with the GNSS information, and the performance and reliability of the integrated navigation system are improved.

  • UCI (Universal Content Identifier) as a national digital content identification system for identifying digital content and ICN (Integrated Copyright Number) for copyright management are operated by Korea copyright commission. However, They are not interoperable with international standard identification system such as ISRC (International Standard Recording Code), ISWC (International Standard Works Code), and ISAN (International Standard Audiovisual Number) due to lack of linkage system. Hence, extra works with international standard identification system are needed for international market entry and integrated management of statistical information including content settlement in international market is impossible. In this paper, the domestic/international identification systems are surveyed, and by metadata analysis of identification systems, linkage method with UCI/ICN is proposed. And also by developing the prototype model, research direction to UCI/ICN with international standard identification system is proposed.

Contrivance of Integrated Pattern Differentiation Method for Diagnostic Unification of Exogenous Contagious Diseases (다양한 유행성 감염병의 진단 일원화를 위한 통합변증방법 연구)

  • In recent years, there were frequent exogenous contagious diseases in Eastasia like SARS(severe acute respiratory syndrome), Avian influenza, Swine influenza, MERS etc. But there are various interpretations about their pathological differentiations and lead to controversy to diagnosis and medicinal use. So there needs universal and consistent understanding methods. Several conclusions are obtained from the research on differentiation theories of various epidemic diseases. Essential elements of differential diagnostic system are pathogen, characters and matters of disease and loci, especially three yin and three yang has close affinity with constitutional features or body shape. Binding these 3 categories, an integrated differentiation 3 dimensional coordinates are made. Out of these, each elements of 3 pathogen-axial lines are related with names of exogenous disease, and those of 3 feature-axial lines are related with 8 principal patterns. And those of 3 locus-axial lines implicating therapeutic method are related with steps and location of exterior and interior, 3 yin 3 yang, Defense, Qi, Nutrient and Blood, five viscera and six bowels and tissues. Additionally, 3 lines of each axis consist of factors which have their own affinity each other, so classification of pathogen, feature, locus of disease has layered interconnectedness. This classification system is included in constitutional features of individual patient. Afterwards, these cognitive structure can be used as a general theory guiding method of therapy, prevention and aftercure healthcare.

Fabrication and Characterization of Composite LSCF-Ag Cathode for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells using Electron Beam Irradiation Process

  • A new process to fabricate a composite LSCF-Ag cathode material for SOFCs by electron beam (e-beam) irradiation process has been suggested for operation under intermediate temperature range of $600-700^{\circ}C$. A composite LSCF-Ag cathode with uniformly coated Ag nanoparticles on the surface of the LSCF material was prepared by a facile e-beam irradiation method at room temperature. The morphology of the composite LSCF-Ag material was analyzed using a TEM, FE-SEM, and EDS. The prepared composite LSCF-Ag material can play a significant role in increasing the electro-catalytic activities and reducing the operating temperature of SOFCs. The performance of a tubular single cell prepared using the composite LSCF-Ag cathode, YSZ electrolyte and a Ni/YSZ anode was evaluated at reduced operating temperature of $600-700^{\circ}C$. The micro-structure and chemical composition of the single cell were investigated using a FE-SEM and EDS.

Synthesis of Vegetable-based Alkanol Amides for Improving Lubricating Properties of Diesel Fuel (경유의 윤활 성능 향상을 위한 식물유 기반 알칸올 아마이드의 합성)

  • To improve the lubricity of ultra low sulfur diesel, vegetable oil-based alkanol amide derivatives were prepared and their lubricity properties were studied. To synthesize the alkanol amides, we conducted the amidation reaction of diethaolamine High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) and the fatty acid methyl esters, obtained by the continuous transesterification of methanol and several vegetable oil, such as soybean oil, palm oil and coconut oil. The synthesized amides were soluble in ultra low sulfur diesel in the concentration range of ca. 1 wt%; the lubricating properties of ultra low sulfur diesel containing 120 ppm of amides were measured using an HFRR method. It was found that the wear scar diameter in the pure ultra low sulfur diesel decreased significantly from 581 ${\mu}m$ to 305~323 ${\mu}m$ upon the addition of the amides, indicating that lubricating properties of the diesel were improved. On the other hand, the types of vegetable oils did not affect the wear scar diameters, implying that lubricating properties of the diesel did not depend strongly on the structures of alkyl groups of alkanol amide derivatives. When we measured the lubricating properties of the one type of diesels containing various amounts of alkanol amide, we observed that the wear scar diameter decreased drastically with increasing the amide concentration, meaning that the lubricity improved with the amide concentration.

A Study on the Effect of Integrative Art Therapy on Cognitive Function and Depression in Elderly People with Early Dementia (통합예술치료가 초기치매노인의 인지기능과 우울에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to objectively examine the effects of integrated art therapy on cognitive function and depression in the early dementia elderly, and to identify and discuss the process of change in the early dementia elderly through a comprehensive analysis through behavior change observation diary. As a research method, a mixed study was designed using in-depth analysis through qualitative studies as well as quantitative studies on the effect of integrated art therapy on cognitive function and depression in the elderly with early dementia. The quantitative study conducted a pre-post examination of 20 elderly people with early dementia using the day care center in P-gu, Suwon, and the qualitative study analyzed the behavioral change observation diary of 10 elderly people with early dementia. These findings show that first, integrated art therapy had a significant effect on the cognitive function of the elderly with early dementia (p<.001, t=-5.871). Second, integrated art therapy had a significant effect on the depression of the elderly with early dementia (p<.001, t=5.325). Third, the integrated art therapy program changed to a positive attitude before and after cognitive function and depression of the elderly with early dementia. By revealing the effect of integrated art therapy on cognitive function and depression of the elderly with early dementia through the results of this study, it is meaningful as basic data for research related to the elderly with early dementia as well as providing effective information on integrated art therapy programs related to the elderly with early dementia.

  • Induction motors are a critical component of many industrial machines and are frequently integrated in commercial equipment. The many economical losses and the deterioration of system reliability might be caused by the failure of induction motors in industrial field. Based on the reliability and cost competitiveness of driving system (motors), the faults detection and diagnosis of system is considered very important factors. In order to perform the faults detection and diagnosis of motors, the vibration monitoring method and motor current signature analysis (MCSA) method are emphasized. In this paper, MCSA method is used for induction motor fault diagnosis. This method analyzes the motor's supply current, since this diagnoses the motor's condition. The diagnostic system is constructed by using LabVIEW of National Instruments.

  • European Space Agency has recognized Integrated Modular Avionics and ARINC specification 653 as avionics computer system for space application. Integrated Modular Avionics specification reduces the space by integrating a system composed of many electronic devices into a computer. recent researches have been studying how to apply the ARINC 653 into an open source operating system, such as Linux. These studies have concentrated on partition scheduling for time separation. However, requirements to guarantee spatial separation should be further analyzed to ensure deterministic execution time. Therefore, memory management is needed to verify spatial isolation on Linux systems. This research proposes a new method to accomplish spatial isolation for the ARINC 653 specification in Linux. We have added new data structures and system calls to handle functionalities for spatial separation. They are used during the partition startup process. The proposed method was evaluated on the LEON4 processor, which is the next generation microprocessor to be used in the future space missions. All implementations confirm that spatial isolation of the ARINC 653 specification was accomplished.
