Design and Implementation of Linux-based Integrated Security System(LISS) Using Open Security Tools (공개 보안 도구를 이용한 리눅스 기반 통합 보안 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • The wide spread of Internet makes susceptible to the attacks via communication Web from hackers using the vulnerability of both computer and network systems. In this paper, we design and implement an integrated security system, named as LISS(Linux-based Integrated Security System) in which an integrated security management is possible. This system is based on the open operating system, Linux and consists of open security tools, which is effective in security management of Linux based-servers. We also construct a test-bed in order to testify the performance of the LISS. It is revealed that the implemented system captures all the attack Patterns generated from Network Mapper.

Dynamic Analysis of Cheongju & Cheongwon Integration Based on the Urban-Rural Integration Effectiveness (도.농통합 효과에 근거한 청주.청원 통합에 관한 동태성 분석)

  • Korean administrative jurisdiction has changed from separation to integration system, without definite raison d'etre from the effectiveness dimension. It partially comes from the fact that the top priority of most existing documents has given to the behavioral patterns of key variables during specific time periods. As an alternative approach, this study focuses on dynamic analysis on the long-term structural patterns related to urban-rural integration issues. Specifically, it pays attention to unique experiences between two neighboring administrative authorities, namely Cheongju and Cheongwon, all of which have repeated exceptional confrontations between pros and cons over almost two decades. From the theoretical perspectives, this observes structural similarities and differences between separation and integration approaches and compares individual feedback loops in order to examine urban-rural integration effectiveness. Structurally, if the integrated local authority adopts systematic management and balanced territorial development principles, it would gain the highest positive effect of urban-rural integration. After scenario buildings, it analyzes administrative integration dynamics between Cheongju and Cheongwon, highlighting geo-political conditions, key issues, and implementation plans between two administrative authorities. It expects that the integrated jurisdiction as a whole would increase the urban attractiveness as it can facilitate territorial development plans from macro-level. Furthermore, if the integrated authority keeps balanced territorial principles, which would be well reflected in the mutual agreement between two administrative units, it would also guarantee the increased urban attractiveness in the integrated jurisdiction. Nonetheless, compared to Cheongwon, which might be wider open to the location of NIMBY facilities, it would be more difficult for Cheongju to pay attention to territorial development confined to its original jurisdiction in the short run.

Characteristics of IEF Patterns and SDS-PAGE Results of Korean EPO Biosimilars

  • Erythropoietin (EPO) is mainly produced in kidney and stimulates erythropoiesis. The use of recombinant EPOs for doping is prohibited because of its performance enhancing effect. This study investigated whether biosimilar EPOs could be differentiated from endogenous one by iso-electro-focusing plus double blotting and SDS-PAGE for antidoping analysis. The established method was validated with positive control urine. The band patterns were reproducible and meet the criteria, which was made by world anti doping agency (WADA). Isoelectric focusing was conducted in pH range 2 to 6. Recormon (La Roche), Aropotin (Kunwha), Epokine (CJ Pharm Co.), Eporon (Dong-A), Espogen (LG Life Sciences), and Dynepo (Shire Pharmaceuticals) were detected in basic region. All biosimilars showed discriminative isoelectric profiles from endogenous EPO profiles, but they showed different band patterns with the reference one except Epokine (CJ Pharm Co.). Next, SDS-PAGE of biosimilar EPOs resulted in different molecular weight patterns which were distributed higher than endogenous EPO. Commercial immune assay kit as an immune affinity purification tool and immobilized antibody coated magnetic bead were tested for the purification and concentration of EPO from urinary matrix. The antibody-coated magnetic bead gave better purification yield. The IEF plus double blotting and SDS-PAGE with immunoaffinity purification method established can be used to discriminate biosimilar EPOs from endogenous EPO.

  • Traditional statistical process control(SPC) applied to discrete part industry in the form of control charts can look for and eliminate assignable causes by process monitoring. On the other hand, engineering process control(EPC) applied to the process industry in the form of feedback control can maintain the process output on the target by continual adjustment of input variable. This study presents controlling and monitoring rules adopted variable sampling interval(VSI) to change sampling intervals in a predetermined fashion on the predicted process levels for integrated EPC and SPC systems. Twelve rules classified by EPC schemes(MMSE, constrained PI, bounded or deadband adjustment policy) and type of sampling interval combined with EWMA chart of SPC are proposed under IMA(1,1) disturbance model and zero-order (responsive) dynamic system. The properties of twelve control rules under three patterns of process change(sudden shift, drift and random shift) are evaluated and discussed through simulation and control rules for integrated VSI EPC and SPC systems are recommended.

  • This paper deals with extending the variable natural oscillation frequency range of an active integrated FET oscillator. In this paper, we conform experimentally that the variable range of the natural oscillation frequency is expanded about three times in the oscillator controlled by the varactor diode. When the frequency difference is given to the oscillators in the two element antenna system, phase difference appeared between the oscillators. The 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-element patch antenna arrays are composed for the beam scanning experiments. All the above patch antennas show good phased array characteristics. The range of the scanning angle is about $30^{\circ}$, and the radiation power is gradually increased from $50{\mu}W\;to\;200{\mu}W$. The radiation patterns we sharpened as the number of elements is increased.

  • Business integration has been considered as one of the most critical success factors that enable the firms to gain competitive edges. Despite this trend, it has also been found among not a few companies that the activities that should be functionally tied with are performed even independently. In this study, an integrated model of production planning and inventory has been developed. Computerization of the production planning activities is proposed and implemented. We also proposed the reasonable inventory levels of each item using historic data of the items, which are composed of safety stock from the given fill-rate, operating stock from the production patterns, and reserved stock from the production planning. This study has helped the firm to have clearer job definition of the related processes, to tightly control the inventory by setting and tracing the reasonable fill rates for every product, and to quickly respond to the market changes through the computerized production planning process.

Approaches to Reduce the Contact Resistance by the Formation of Covalent Contacts in Graphene Thin Film Transistors

  • Graphene, with a carrier mobility achieving up to $140,000cm^2/Vs$ at room temperature, makes it an ideal material for application in semiconductor devices. However, when the metal comes in contact with the graphene sheet, an energy barrier forms at the metal-graphene interface, resulting in a drastic reduction of the carrier mobility of graphene. In this review, the various methods of forming metal-graphene covalent contacts to lower the contact resistance are discussed. Furthermore, the graphene sheet in the area of metal contact can be cut in certain patterns, also discussed in this review, which provides a more efficient approach to forming covalent contacts, ultimately reducing the contact resistance for the realization of high-performance graphene devices.

The Relationships Between Navigational Pattens and Information Processing Styles of Hypermedia Users (하이퍼미디어 사용자의 정보처리 유형이 정보탐색 패턴에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the relationships between hypermedia users information processing styles and navigational patterns. Three aspects of navigational patterns were investigated: (a) navigational breadth patterns which reveal how comprehensively users access, (b) navigational path patterns which display what sequences users follow. and (c) navigational method patterns which show what methods u users employ when using the system. Information processing styles were measured by the Human Information Processing Styles(HIPS) Survey. The subjects were 102 undergraduate students enrolled in management courses at a university. Participation was voluntary 34 students were selected for each of left, right, and integrated information processor group. The subjects interacted with A.g.i.l.e. TrainerTM program to complete two types of searching tasks 'open-ended and closed-ended tasks' Findings indicated that the information processing style seems to play an important role in how an individual interacts with the hypermedia systems.

Digitalized Dynamic Fashion Design: Graphical Patterns in Motion

  • This paper evaluates the potential of dynamic graphical patterns in future-driven fashion design using computer graphics that enables changes to the visual appearance of a textile for aesthetic, expressive or communicative purposes. In particular, it focuses on experimenting with the possibility of creating digitalized dynamic fashion garments that are illustrated digitally using motion graphics developed collaboratively in a virtual space. Three objectives were formed and addressed. First, a dynamic graphical pattern was defined that also investigated the cases of tangible and virtual dynamic patterns in textiles and garments to identify current situations and future prospects in terms of functional techniques and expressive effects. Ten digital fashion illustrations were then created in collaboration with a group of graphic designers and motion artists to visualize dynamic graphical patterns changing over time. Four types of dynamic fashion illustrations were also introduced in their methodological and expressive aspects. Last, some findings resulted from digital works that led to implications for future studies on tangible dynamic fashion designs. This study proposed that computer graphics and digital imaging technologies integrated into a virtual fashion that creates eye-catching and futuristic dynamic fashion designs that can customize colors and patterns according to the desires of wearers or users.
