  • Using a qualitative multimethod approach, this study was to construct a substantive theory about occupational socialization of librarians. Through theoretical sampling, 42 participants were in-depthly interviewed at three studies, i. e., phenomenological, ethnographic, and grounded theory approach. These data were analyzed and finally integrated using grounded theory approach. 'Acquiring Social Recognition as Information Professionals' was emerged the core category for describing and guiding the occupational socialization process. Six patterns were discovered: 'the Beliefs', 'the Seeking-Success', 'the Work-Obiligations', 'The Stucked', 'the Self-Pride', 'The Frustrated' Also, it discussed characteristics and socialization strategies of the pattern.

  • In this paper, we proposed novel multilayer photonic bandgap(PBG) structure using DSL(Descended Signal Line). From measurement result, the proposed PBG structure using DSL is reduced 72 % at size and increased 13 % at bandwidth compared to typical multilayer DGS(Defected Ground Structure). It is also reduced 42 % at size and increased 23 % at bandwidth compared to PBG structure using EGP(Elevated Ground Plane). In case of measurement for manufactured six PBG patterns, all patterns have the same cutoff frequency and bandstop characteristics. So it can be used for bandstop filter having very precise tolerance of below 300 MHz at 20 ㎓ if it is applied to real product and this filter will be useful for small microwave integrated circuit and module development.

  • Aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid, a member of the salicylate family, is frequently used as an analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and antiplatelet drug. Because aspirin is chemically unstable in water and heat for tablet formulation, additives including lubricants are used in preparing aspirin tablets, using a dry-granulation process. Aspirin tablets are produced by a number of manufacturers which usually use their own unique combination of additives during the manufacturing process. In this study, we employed an NMR based metabolomics technique to identify the manufacturers of various aspirin tablets. Aspirin tablets from six different companies were analyzed by 1H 400 MHz NMR. The acquired data was then integrated and processed by principal component analysis (PCA). Based on the NMR data, we were able to identify peaks corresponding to acetylsalicylic acid in all of the six samples, whereas different NMR patterns were found in the aromatic and aliphatic regions depending on the unique additive used. These observations led to the conclusion that the differences in the NMR patterns among the different aspirin tablets were due to the presence of additives.

  • As the safety fields are expanding to a variety of industrial fields, safety technology has been developed by convergence between industrial safety fields such as mechanics, ergonomics, electronics, chemistry, construction, and information science. As the technology convergence is facilitating recently advanced safety technology, it is important to explore the trends of safety technology for understanding which industrial technologies have been integrated thus far. For studying the trends of technology, the patent is considered one of the useful sources that has provided the ample information of new technology. The patent has been also used to identify the patterns of technology convergence through various quantitative methods. In this respect, this study aims to identify the convergence patterns and fields of safety technology using association rule mining(ARM)-based patent co-classification(co-class) analysis. The patent co-class data is especially useful for constructing convergence network between technological fields. Through linkages between technological fields, the core and hub classes of convergence network are explored to provide insight into the fields of safety technology. As the representative method for analyzing patent co-class network, the ARM is used to find the likelihood of co-occurrence of patent classes and the ARM network is presented to visualize the convergence network of safety technology. As a result, we find three major convergence fields of safety technology: working safety, medical safety, and vehicle safety.

  • The active vibration control of composite shell structure has been performed with the optimized sensor/actuator system. For the design of sensor/actuator system, a method based on finite element technique is developed. The nine-node Mindlin shell element has been used for modeling the integrated system of laminated composite shell with PVDF sensor/actuator. The distributed selective modal sensor/actuator system is established to prevent the effect of spillover. Electrode patterns and lamination angles of sensor/actuator are optimized using genetic algorithm. Continuous electrode patterns are discretized according to finite element mesh, and orientation angle is encoded into discrete values using binary string. Sensor is designed to minimize the observation spillover, and actuator is designed to minimize the system energy of the control modes under a given initial condition. Modal sensor/actuator for the first and the second mode vibration control of singly curved cantilevered composite shell structure are designed with the method developed on the finite element method and optimization. For verification, the experimental test of the active vibration control is performed for the composite shell structure. Discrete LQG method is used as a control law.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the contraction patterns of active elbow muscles during isometric, concentric and eccentric contraction. The analysis parameters consist of frequency domain parameters (mean frequency, median frequency, peak frequency, peak power, skewness, kurtosis) and time domain paraseters (zero crossing, positive maxima, integrated EMG). The results of this study were as follows; The BR/BB of isometric contraction appeared to be Venter as the elbow joint was more extended. The BR /BB during concentric and eccentric contraction tended to increase with more extension of the elbow joint angle, but there was no significant difference between concentric and eccentric contraction. Further, the EMG power spectrum due to the type of contraction were different betwen eccentric and concentric contraction. According to the results, it was found that the activation pattern in elbow flexor muscles was different during three different muscle contraction pattern. Therefore, elbow flexor muscles should not be considered a single functioning unit. Especially, at the time domain analysis, IEMG is a dominant parameter for analysis of activation patterns, and the skewness kurtosis can be useful parameters in functional recognition for prosthesis control purpose.

  • A series of activated carbons (ACs) were derived from sugarcane bagasse under two activation schemes: steam-pyrolysis at $600-800^{\circ}C$ and chemical activation with $H_3PO_4$ at $500^{\circ}C$. Some carbons were treated at 400, $600^{\circ}C$, or for 1-3 h, and/or in flowing air during pyrolysis of acid-impregnated mass. XRD profiles displayed two broad diffuse bands centered around $2{\theta}=23$ and $43^{\circ}$, currently associated with diffraction from the 002 and 100/101 set of planes in graphite, respectively. These correspond to the interlayer spacing, Lc, and microcrystallite lateral dimensions, La, of the turbostratic (fully disordered) graphene layers. Steam pyrolysis-activated carbons exhibit only the two mentioned broad bands with enhancement in number of layers, with temperature, and small decrease in microcrystallite diameter, La. XRD patterns of $H_3PO_4$-ACs display more developed and separated peaks in the early region with maxima at $2{\theta}=23$, 26 and $29^{\circ}$, possibly ascribed to fragmented microcrystallites (or partially organized structures). Diffraction within the $2{\theta}=43^{\circ}$ is still broad although depressed and diffuse, suggesting that the intragraphitic layers are less developed. Varying the conditions of chemical activation inflicts insignificant structural alterations. Circulating air during pyrolysis leads to enhancement of the basic graphitic structure with destruction and degradation in the lateral dimensions.

  • Since the optimized use of sonar systems for target tracking is a practical problem for naval operations, the measure of mission achievability is needed for preparing efficient sonar-maneuver tactic. In order to quantify the mission achievability or Measure Of Effectiveness(MOE) for given sonar-maneuver tactics, we developed and tested a simulation algorithm. The proposed algorithm for tracking is based on Measure Of Performance(MOP) for localization and tracking system of sonar against target. Probability of Detection(PD) using steering beam patterns referenced to the aspect angle of sonar is presented to consider the tracking-performance of sonar. Also, the integrated software package, named as Optimal Acoustic Search Path Planning(OASPP) is used for generating sonar-maneuver patterns and vulnerability analysis for a given scenario. Through simulation of a simple case for which the intuitive solution is known, the proposed algorithm is verified.
