  • For most machine tools, it is necessary to remove chips and coolant oil because it they will continue to be created during the manufacture of workpieces. Existing products that are in use are installed and used as they reflect depending on the characteristics of each device separately. This study proposes a method to remove the security chip as well as developing an integrated system capable of reducing coolant damage. The Leverage AutoCAD and CATIA program was used for 2D and 3D design, shapes were identified by utilizing the KeyShot program, and the load and displacement analysis of the development apparatus was performed utilizing the ANSYS program. After the prototype underwent sufficient design review, the mixed oil separation device had a complete sensor control program using the LabVIEW program. The chip design process for transferring experiments and experiments on the mixed oil cooling device were developed for performance tests of the product. The final product resulted in an increase in space utilization during commercialization, reduced installation costs, and caused social effects such as pulmonary flow reduction, which, through the economic costs, reduces pollution, resulting in various benefits to the industry, such as deceased errors in the workplace decreases.

  • In this study, the finite element analysis was carried out to investigate dynamic characteristics of the AGF(Active Gurney Flap) which is under development for reducing vibration and noise of the helicopter rotor system. The Gurney flap is a kind of small flat plate, mounted normal to the lower surface of the airfoil near to the trailing edge. An electric motor, L-shaped linkages and flap parts were integrated into a rotor bade, and 3~5/rev control was given to the AGF to reduce the vibration in the fixed frame. Thus, an explicit time integration method was adopted to investigate the dynamic response of the AGF with considering both centrifugal force due to the rotor rotation and active control input, and it can be seen that the vertical displacement of the AGF was satisfied to meet the design requirement.

  • In this study, we carried out the each lines of section, using GC (green silicon carbide) whetstone, the SCM415 material which separated by after and before heat treatments process, in 3+2 axis machining centers for integrated grinding after cutting end mill works, the spindle speed 8000 rpm and feed rate 150 mm/min. For the analysis of the centerline average roughness (Ra), we measured by 10 steps stages. Using Finite element analysis, we found the result of the load analysis effect of the assembly parts, when applied the 11 kg's load on both side of the ATC (Automatic tool change) arm. The result is as follows. For the centerline average roughness (Ra) in the non-heat treatment work pieces, are appeared the most favorable in the tenth section are $0.510{\mu}m$, that were shown in the near the straight line section which is the smallest deformation of curve. In addition, the bad surface roughness appears on the path is to long by changing angle, the more inclined depth of cut, because the chip discharging is not smoothly.

  • Dual-function interferometer is an interferometer that has all features of ESPI (electronic speckle pattern interferometry) and shearography in one interferometer setup. The deformatiou of an object is directly obtained by ESPI while the slope of the deformation of an object is obtained by shearography. If the result of shearography is divided by shearing amount and integrated by numerical analyzing, then finally the reconstructed deformation of an object that is the same as the results directly obtained by ESPI can be measured by shearography. In this study, rubber and alruminum plates are used as specimen and its out-of-plane deformation is measured by ESPI and shearography setup of the dual-function interferometer. Each of the results obtained by ESPI and shearography is compared by using numerical integration to the result of shearography. From this study, it is confirmed that the reconstructed deformation results obtained by numerical integration good agree with the results obtained by ESPI.

  • To perform an integrated load analysis carried out to evaluate the stability evaluation of wind turbine generators, the six degree-of-freedom stiffness matrix of foundation, which describes relationships between loads and displacement, is needed. Since the foundation stiffness should accurately reflect the shape of foundation and the condition of soil, it is necessary to calculate the stiffness of the bucket foundation that considers the elasto-plastic behavior of the soil. In this study, finite element analyses were performed for a range of soils and shapes of bucket foundations to estimate the foundation stiffness. Normalized stiffness curves are developed from respective numerical simulations. Proposed results are considered to be useful because they can be directly applied in the design.

  • A jointed rock slope stability evaluation was simulated by a discontinuous deformation analysis numerical method to investigate the process and safety factors for different crack distributions and different overloading situations. An optimized method using Discontinuous Deformation Analysis for Rock Failure (DDARF) is presented to perform numerical investigations on the jointed rock slope stability evaluation of the Dagangshan hydropower station. During the pre-processing of establishing the numerical model, an integrated software system including AutoCAD, Screen Capture, and Excel is adopted to facilitate the implementation of the numerical model with random joint network. These optimizations during the pre-processing stage of DDARF can remarkably improve the simulation efficiency, making it possible for complex model calculation. In the numerical investigations on the jointed rock slope stability evaluations using the optimized DDARF, three calculation schemes have been taken into account in the numerical model: (I) no joint; (II) two sets of regular parallel joints; and (III) multiple sets of random joints. This model is capable of replicating the entire processes including crack initiation, propagation, formation of shear zones, and local failures, and thus is able to provide constructive suggestions to supporting schemes for the slope. Meanwhile, the overloading numerical simulations under the same three schemes have also been performed. Overloading safety factors of the three schemes are 5.68, 2.42 and 1.39, respectively, which are obtained by analyzing the displacement evolutions of key monitoring points during overloading.

  • We present a tactile information transceiver using a friction-tunable slider-pad. While previous tactile information devices were focused on either input or output functions, the present device offers lateral position/vertical direction detection and texture expression. In characterizing the tactile input performance, we measured the capacitance change due to the displacement of the slider-pad. The measured difference for a z-axis click was 0.146 nF/$40{\mu}m$ when the x-y axis navigation showed 0.09 nF/$750{\mu}m$ difference. In characterizing the texture expression, we measured the lateral force due to a normal load. We applied a voltage between parallel electrodes to induce electrostatic attraction in DC and AC voltages. We measured the friction under identical fingertip action conditions, and obtained friction in the range of 32-152 mN and lateral vibration in the force range of 128.1 mN at 60 V, 2 Hz. The proposed device can be applied to integrated tactile interface devices for mobile appliances.

  • In this study, we propose an innovative lateral force distribution building system between tall buildings by utilizing the difference of moment of inertia, resulting the reduction of lateral displacement and the lateral forces in terms of an alternative for the dense human and increased cost of lands in highly integrated city area. A successive collapse prevention means by providing additional bearing plate between connections is proposed. In addition to that, a more economical vibration reduction is expected due to the suggested tuned mass damper on the surface of spacial structure. In the considered verification examples, reduced drifts at the top location of the building systems are validated against static wind pressure loads and static earthquake loads. The suggested hybrid building system will improve the safety and reliability of the new or existing building system in terms of more than 30% reduced drift and vibration through the development of convergence of tall buildings and spatial structures.

  • Currently, the dynamic amplification effect of suction is described using the wind vibration coefficient (WVC) of external loads. In other words, it is proposed that the fluctuating characteristics of suction are equivalent to external loads. This is, however, not generally valid. Meanwhile, the effects of the ventilation rate of louver on suction and its WV are considered. To systematically analyze the effects of the ventilation rate of louver on the multi-dimensional WVC of ultra-large cooling towers under suctions, the 210 m ultra-large cooling tower under construction was studied. First, simultaneous rigid pressure measurement wind tunnel tests were executed to obtain the time history of fluctuating wind loads on the external surface and the internal surface of the cooling tower at different ventilation rates (0%, 15%, 30%, and 100%). Based on that, the average values and distributions of fluctuating wind pressures on external and internal surfaces were obtained and compared with each other; a tower/pillar/circular foundation integrated simulation model was developed using the finite element method and complete transient time domain dynamics of external loads and four different suctions of this cooling tower were calculated. Moreover, 1D, 2D, and 3D distributions of WVCs under external loads and suctions at different ventilation rates were obtained and compared with each other. The WVCs of the cooling tower corresponding to four typical response targets (i.e., radial displacement, meridional force, Von Mises stress, and circumferential bending moment) were discussed. Value determination and 2D evaluation of the WVCs of external loads and suctions of this large cooling tower at different ventilation rates were proposed. This study provides references to precise prediction and value determination of WVC of ultra-large cooling towers.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a mathematical model for system identification in order to predIct muscle force based on eledromyographic signal. Therefore, a finding of the relalionship between characteristics of electromyographic signal and the corre spondng muscle force should be necessiiry through dynamic, joint model. To develop the dynamic joint model, the upper limb mcludmg the wrist and elbow joint has been considered. The kinematic and dynamic data, such as joint angular displacement, velocity, deceleration along with the moment of inertla, required to establish the dynamic model has been obtained by electrical flexible goniometer which has two degree-of-frcedoms. ln this model, muscle force can be predicted only electromyographs through the relationship between the integrated lorce and the mtegrated electromyographic signal over the duration of muscle contraclion in this study.
