The widening pClformnnce gap between processor and memory causes an emergence of the promising architecture, processor-memory (PM) integration In this paper, various design issues for P-M integration are studied, First, an analytical model of the DRAM access time is constructed considering both the bank conflict ratio and the DRAM page hit ratio. Then the points of both the performance improvement and the perfonnance bottle neck are found by the proposed model as designing on-chip DRAM architectures. This paper proposes the new architecture, called the delayed precharge bank architecture, to improve the perfonnance of memory system as increasing the DRAM page hit ratio. This paper also adapts an efficient bank interleaving mechanism to the proposed architecture. This architecture is verified !II he better than the hierarchical multi-bank architecture as well as the conventional bank architecture by executiun driven simulation. Eight SPEC95 benchmarks are used for simulation as changing parameters for the cache architecture, the number of DRAM banks, and the delayed time quantum.

This paper presents a design of the CMOS LDO regulator with a UVLO protection function for a high speed PMIC. Proposed LDO regulator circuit consists of a BGR reference circuit, an error amplifier and a power transistor and so on. UVLO block between the power transistor and the power supply is added for a low input protection function. Also, UVLO block showed normal operation with turn-off voltage of 2.7V and turn-on voltage of 4 V in condition of 5 V power supply. Proposed circuit generated fixed 3.3 V from a supply of 5V. From SPICE simulation results using a $1{\mu}m$ high voltage CMOS technology, simulation results were 5.88 mV/V line regulation and 27.5 uV/mA load regulation with load current 0 mA to 200 mA.
Digital Virtual Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital model representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing system, and it includes product, resources, processes and plant. For successful applications of this technology, a digital virtual factory as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital virtual factory of a Korean automotive company's press shop. For efficient constructions of a digital virtual factory useful to kinematic simulations and visualizations, we analyzed entire business process and detailed activities of press engineering. Also, we evaluated geometries, structures, characteristics and motions of a plant and machines in press shop. The geometric model and related data of a virtual press shop are built and managed by a modeling standard defined in this paper. The virtual manufacturing simulation of press machines is conducted to evaluate kinematic motions, cycle time and locations of components using geometric models and related data. It's for interference checks and productivity improvements. We expect that this virtual press shop helps us to achieve great savings in time and cost in many manufacturing preparation activities in the new car development process of automotive companies.
This study was carried out to forecast the flow rate and water quality at the inlet of the Saemangeum bay in Korea using the SWMM(Storm Water Management Model) and the WASP(Water Analysis Simulation Program), and to analyze the impacts of pollutant loading from non-point source on the water quality of the bay. The calibration and validation of flow rate and water quality were performed using those from two monitoring points in the Mankyeong river administrated by Korean Ministry of Environment as part of the national water quality monitoring network. When the river flow rate was calibrated and validated using the rainfall intensities during 2011-2012, $R^2$ (i.e., coefficient of determination) was ranged from 0.91 to 0.96. For water qualities, it was shown that $R^2$ of BOD(Biochemical Oxygen Demand) was ranged from 0.56 to 0.86, and $R^2$ of T-N(Total Nitrogen) was from 0.64 to 0.75, and $R^2$ of T-P(Total Phosphorus) was from 0.67 to 0.89. The integrated modeling system showed significant advances in the accuracy to estimate the water quality. Finally, further simulations showed that annual average flow of the river running into the bay was estimated to be $1.439{\times}10^9m^3/year$. The discharged load of BOD, T-N, and T-P into the bay were anticipated to be 618.7 ton/year, 331.5 ton/year, and 40.4 ton/year, respectively.

Call admission control (CAC) plays an important role in mobile cellular network to guarantee the quality of service (QoS). In this paper, a dynamic hybrid CAC scheme with integrated cutoff priority and handoff queue for mobile cellular network is proposed and some performance metrics are derived. The unique characteristic of the proposed CAC scheme is that it can support any number of service types and that the cutoff thresholds for handoff calls are dynamically adjusted according to the number of service types and service priority index. Moreover, timeouts of handoff calls in queues are also considered in our scheme. By modeling the proposed CAC scheme with a one-dimensional Markov chain (1DMC), some performance metrics are derived, which include new call blocking probability ($P_{nb}$), forced termination probability (PF), average queue length, average waiting time in queue, offered traffic utilization, wireless channel utilization and system performance which is defined as the ratio of channel utilization to Grade of Service (GoS) cost function. In order to validate the correctness of the derived analytical performance metrics, simulation is performed. It is shown that simulation results match closely with the derived analytic results in terms of $P_{nb}$ and PF. And then, to show the advantage of 1DMC modeling for the performance analysis of our proposed CAC scheme, the computing complexity of multi-dimensional Markov chain (MDMC) modeling in performance analysis is analyzed in detail. It is indicated that state-space cardinality, which reflects the computing complexity of MDMC, increases exponentially with the number of service types and total channels in a cell. However, the state-space cardinality of our 1DMC model for performance analysis is unrelated to the number of service types and is determined by total number of channels and queue capacity of the highest priority service in a cell. At last, the performance comparison between our CAC scheme and Mahmoud ASH's scheme is carried out. The results show that our CAC scheme performs well to some extend.
The Unified Modeling Language becomes popular to specify, visualize, construct, and document software-intensive systems, especially in supporting the design phase of software engineering. Most of designs in UML have focused on firm designing of software system structure. Recently, some researches have raised additional demands in many emerging complex software systems, such as aspect-oriented design. In this paper, we work on the dynamic aspect of policy-driven architecture. We present a UML-based high-level modeling of policy-driven management which is applicable in various application domains. In order to manage a number of activities of applications, dynamics and flexibility should be supported with policies consistently on different resources in the same context. Thus, a methodology of meta-modeling to represent dynamic aspects of policy-driven architecture is studied. Based on our methodology, we could achieve meta-modeling to develop a number of policy-driven management applications.
We present an algorithm for surface reconstruction from the second-derivative data for free-form aspherics, which uses a subaperture scanning system that measures the local surface profile and determines the three second-derivative values at those local sampling points across the free-form surface. The three second-derivative data were integrated to get a map of x- and y-slopes, which went through a second Southwell integration step to reconstruct the surface profile. A synthetic free-form surface 200 mm in diameter was simulated. The simulation results show that the reconstruction error is 19 nm RMS residual difference. Finally, the sensitivity to noise is diagnosed for second-derivative Gaussian random noise with a signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 16, the simulation results proving that the suggested method is robust to noise.

In this paper, the feasibility of ORBCOMM satellite-based automatic identification system (SAT-AIS) is evaluated in the context of ship AIS slot collision probability depending on reporting rate, We evaluate detection probability evaluation of ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS considering link budget, SOTDMA protocol and satellite's swath width. The simulation determines the total number of vessels served by ORBCOMM satellite according to satellite's swath width, AIS slot allocation and reporting rate. By simulation results, the ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS slot collision is increased directly proportional to the total number of vessels and the more detection probability evaluation of ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS degrader, the more sip AIS reporting rate shorter.

Digitalization of the substation in Korea has been in progress so far with focusing on Station Bus. However, its application to Process Bus has been delayed due to some technical issues. IEDs based on Process Bus use the data values of SV and GOOSE. As the size of communication data on Process Bus is comparatively bigger than that of Station Bus, it is very important for the evaluating the performance of Process Bus to analyze the transferring speed and quality of data from the first equipment, which is located on process level, to station level. According to the results of related studies, it is said that the most important factor for the design and operation of Process Bus network is the communication delay with consideration of the volume of packets. In the paper, the results of performance test for the network with and without application of VLAN on Process Bus system that uses integrated IEDs are presented. Additionally, the paper proposes the optimal method to analyze the communication delays of network systems through evaluating the maximum delay time, link process ratio and the amount of lost packets by using a simulation tool.

Satellite images can be integrated into a crop model to strengthen the advantages of each technique for crop monitoring and to compensate for weaknesses of each other, which can be systematically applied for monitoring inaccessible croplands. The objective of this study was to outline the productivity of paddy rice based on simulation of the yield of all paddy fields in North Korea, using a grid crop model combined with optical satellite imagery. The grid GRAMI-rice model was used to simulate paddy rice yields for inaccessible North Korea based on the bidirectional reflectance distribution function-adjusted vegetation indices (VIs) and the solar insolation. VIs and solar insolation for the model simulation were obtained from the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) and the Meteorological Imager (MI) sensors of the Communication Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS). Reanalysis data of air temperature were achieved from the Korea Local Analysis and Prediction System (KLAPS). Study results showed that the yields of paddy rice were reproduced with a statistically significant range of accuracy. The regional characteristics of crops for all of the sites in North Korea were successfully defined into four clusters through a spatial analysis using the K-means clustering approach. The current study has demonstrated the potential effectiveness of characterization of crop productivity based on incorporation of a crop model with satellite images, which is a proven consistent technique for monitoring of crop productivity in inaccessible regions.
