A Design and Algorithm Implementation of Waveguide for 3way Line Array Speaker (3way 라인어레이 스피커를 위한 웨이브가이드 알고리즘 구현 및 설계)

  • Directivity control technology of sound system is a key technology for improving sound quality. Providing a line source rather than a point source in an acoustic system can reduce the effects of attenuation interference at long distances, thereby providing high quality sound. In particular, A line-array speaker system can be used to provide coherent, high-quality sound over long distances. However, high frequencies have shorter wavelengths, so the distance between the speakers of a line array system must be shorter, but there are physical limitations. In this paper, we designed a wave guide and installed it in the speaker's compression driver to solve this problem. We measured and tested various acoustic characteristics to verify the performance of the speaker. As a result, when the line array sound system is constructed using the developed speakers, it is possible to provide a line source in all areas including the treble range, thereby achieving the same effect as a single extended source and providing high quality sound up to far distances.

  • DIFs (Data Interchange Formats) are needed to enhance interoperability of physically distributed organizations in SBA (Simulation Based Acquisition) process. DIFs play a role as a template of DPDs (Distributed Product Descriptions) and provide capability to use information directly without data format interchange process by allowing access to DPDs, which include various information and M&S (Modeling & Simulation) resources. This characteristic is essential for interoperability in ICE (Integrated Collaborative Environment) based SBA. This paper proposes a framework for the DIF and outputs from each phase of acquisition process for configuration data related to design and manufacturing in SBA process - Conceptual Data Model, Logical Data Model, Physical Data Model and Physical DIF based on XML. Finally, we propose the DIF model architecture and demonstrate the implementation of DIF example based on it.

  • An AddSIM(Adaptive distributed and parallel Simulation environment for Interoperable and reusable Models) is an integrated engagement simulation environment with high-resolution weapon system models for estimation and analysis of their performance and effectiveness. AddSIM can simultaneously handle the continuous dynamical system models based on continuous time, and command, control(C2) and network system models based on a discrete event. To accommodate legacies based on DEVS(Discrete Event System Specification) modeling, DEVS legacies must first be converted into AddSIM models. This paper describes how to implement DEVS models on AddSIM. In this study a method of mapping from hierarchical DEVS models to AddSIM players was developed: The hierarchical DEVS model should be flattened into a one layered model and four DEVS functions of the model, external transition, internal transition, output and time advance, should be mapped into functions of the AddSIM player.

  • Tsunami happens rarely enough to allow a false sense of security, but when they do occur, there may be just minutes or hours for people to reach a safe location. Natural disasters like tsunami are inevitable and it is almost impossible to fully recoup damages caused by the disasters. However, it is possible to minimize the potential risk by developing early warning strategies. GIS modelling with its geoprocessing and analysis capability can play a crucial role in efficient mitigation and management of disaster. This study aims at developing integrated spatial information system processing model supporting tsunami evacuation action planning using geo-information technology such as GIS. The integration process classified into four phases. And in each phase, required input data and GIS processes are decided. The main effort in minimizing casualties in tsunami disaster is to evacuate people from the hazard area before tsunami strikes by means of either horizontal or vertical evacuation. The study provides essential spatial information for local decision making related with people's evacuation in tsunami-prone areas based on a modeling approach transferable to other coastal areas.

  • This paper proposes a compact eAI framework for the integration of various types of applications deployed on different platforms in the Internet. The applications are connected and invoked to achieve a business goal by the coordination of the workflow system in the framework. for the construction of the framework, five sub-modules are elicited and the functions and roles of each module are defined. The elicited five sub-modules include business process modeling tool, eAI platform, business processes transform module, UDDI connection module, and workflow system. In the framework, intra and inter organizational applications can be integrated together across firewalls. In this paper, the extension of a workflow system to implement the framework is also described in detail and the usefulness of the framework is ascertained by implementing an application process within the framework. A full-fledged eAI solution can be constructed by gradually adding supplementary functions within this framework.

  • A microgrid (MG) with integrated renewable energy resources can benefit both utility companies and customers. As a result, they are attracting a great deal of attention. The control of a MG is very important for the stable operation of a MG. The droop-control method is popular since it avoids circulating currents among the converters without using any critical communication between them. Traditional droop control methods have the drawback of an inherent trade-off between power sharing and voltage and frequency regulation. An adaptive droop control method is proposed, which can operate in both the island mode and the grid-connected mode. It can also ensure smooth switching between these two modes. Furthermore, the voltage and frequency of a MG can be restored by using the proposed droop controller. Meanwhile, the active power can be dispatched appropriately in both operating modes based on the capacity or running cost of the Distributed Generators (DGs). The global information (such as the average voltage and output active power of the MG and so on) required by the proposed droop control method to restore the voltage and frequency deviations can be acquired distributedly based on the Multi Agent System (MAS). Simulation studies in PSCAD demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

  • In this paper, we propose a Timed Fuzzy Petri Net(TFPN) model as a new model of real-time fuzzy control. The TFPN model, which is useful for fuzzy inference and fuzzy control is an integrated model of Timed PetriNet and Fuzzy Petri Net. Additionally, a Timed Fuzzy Control Language is defined as a textual specification model of fuzzy control rues, and proposed a TFPN modeling method. The TFPN model is a Petri Net formalism of fuzzy control systems. Execution rule is consisted of marking(i.e,fuzzyfication) and firing(i.e,inference and defuzzyfication) procedures. A simple case work by using TFPN model shows us computing time of inference and defuzzyfication is low and uncertainty and visibility of fuzzy control rule are modeled effectively.

  • Most existing simulators for wireless sensor networks(WSNs) are modeling battery-based sensors and providing MAC and routing protocols designed for battery-based WSNs. However, recently, as energy harvesting sensor systems have been studied more extensively, there is an increasing need for appropriate simulators, but few related studies have employed such simulators. Unlike existing simulators, simulators for energy harvesting WSNs require a new energy model that is integrated with the energy-harvesting model, rechargeable battery model, and energy-consuming model. Additionally, it should enable the applications of the well-known MAC and routing protocols designed for energy-harvesting WSNs, as well as a user-friendly interface for convenience. In this work, we design and implement a user-friendly simulator for solar energy-harvesting WSNs.

  • This study investigated the applicability of generalized TOPMODEL approach which introduces the power law of decreasing transimissivity with depth instead of the traditional exponential decreasing function. The 50m digital elevation model(DEM) of Dongkog subwatershed at Wichon Test Watershed was used to perform runoff simulation. Random number generation algorithm was integrated into the calibration process for the reliable of model performance. General power law version of TOPMODEL with exponent 2 and 3 showed higher simulation efficiency than other the approaches. This results from the fact that the power law models with exponent 2 and 3 can represent the soil characteristics of study area better than other models.

  • The learning control develops controllers that learn to improve their performance at executing a given task, based on experience performing this specific task. In a previous work the authors presented an iterative precision of linear decentralized learning control based on p-integrated teaming method for the vertical dynamic multiple systems. This paper develops an indirect decentralized learning control based on adaptive control method. The original motivation of the loaming control field was learning in robots doing repetitive tasks such as on a]1 assembly line. This paper starts with decentralized discrete time systems, and progresses to the robot application, modeling the robot as a time varying linear system in the neighborhood of the nominal trajectory, and using the usual robot controllers that are decentralized, treating each link as if it is independent of any coupling with other links. Error wave propagation method will show up in the numerical simulation for five-bar linkage as a vertical dynamic robot. The methods of learning system are shown up for the iterative precision of each link at each time step in repetition domain. Those can be helped to apply to the vertical multiple dynamic systems for precision quality assurance in the industrial robots and medical equipments.
