  • Records and archives on military sexual slavery should be managed systematically due to its historical and educational values. Currently, the National Records Designation related to the military sexual slavery by Japan are managed in various related organizations including the National Archives of Korea. Some private institutions have diverse collections on the military sexual slavery by Japan. They have a collection of various types of records and archives. This study aims to build an integrated metadata schema for managing the records and archives on the military sexual slavery by Japan. To achieve this goal, this study examined the institutions and organizations related to the military sexual slavery by Japan, and analyzed the types and characteristics of their records and archives. Based on the results, a metadata schema was proposed for the records and archives of the "Military Sexual Slavery by Japan."

  • The study designs and implements a metadata management system for archival and manuscripts control. It has two purposes. First purpose is to organize the collection that the Institution of Korean Church History holds by using the proposed metadata format. Second purpose is to suggest the model and framework for managing the collection. The proposed metadata is designed based on ISAD(G), USMARC AMC, EAD and Ebind, By using the proposed metadata, the collection management system, which allows an integrated retrieval, is implemented. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed system as well as to gain the basic data for the improvement of the proposed system, a questionnaire survey through e-mail is conducted. The evaluation results will be utilized for improving and upgrading the proposed system, and the phrased implementation of applying the system to digital libraries is suggested.

  • The development of ICT technology has a huge impact on the existing closed CCTV security equipment market. With the importance of video data particularly highlighted in areas such as self-driving cars, unmanned vehicles and smart cities, various technologies using video are emerging. In this paper, we proposed a method to transmit videos and metadata as a part of smart city integration, and to solve the traffic, environment and security problems caused in urban life by utilizing the metadata instead of using CCTV videos for simple recording purposes, and reverse tunneling technique was designed and implemented as a method for accessing CCTV videos for vehicles from remote locations. Integrated management of CCTV videos and metadata for vehicles that have been used only for limited purposes in closed environments will enable efficient operation of integrated centers in real time required by smart cities, such as vehicle status check, road conditions and facility management.

  • Video documents which have audio-visual and other semantics information have complex relationship among media. While user requests for topic retrieval or specific region retrieval increase, it is difficult to meet these requests with the existing design methodology, In order to support the systematic management and the various retrieval capabilities of video document, we must formulate structural and systematic model on metadata using semantics and structural informations which are abstracted automaticallv or manuallv. This paper suggests generic metadata model with which we analyze the characteristics of video document, supports various query types and serves as a generic framework for video applications, we propose the generic integrated management model(GIMM)for generic metadata,, design video documents management system(VDMS) and implement it using GIMM.

A Development of Metadata Integration Management System for Serious Game (기능성게임 메타데이터 통합관리시스템 개발)

  • During the past 10 years, serious game industry has been growing steadily. But the system which could stably and reliably provide metadata information and quality information related to serious game remained unexploited. Existing systems only support the basic management functions of metadata search centered. Therefore, we have developed an integrated system to manage the quality information of serious game as well as to improve the inconvenient details of the existing systems. And we designed quality evaluation elements and quality information supply-methods, and linked up them to the system. Furthermore, we conducted user's satisfaction assessment survey on the use of the system. The advantage of the system is that the system provide a lot of useful information for general users and developers, and support a tool to manage all information related to serious game by easy and convenient method for managers.

  • Recently, along with digital transformation, technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence have been actively introduced. In a situation where these technological changes are progressing rapidly, it is often difficult to manage processes efficiently using existing simple workflow management methods. Companies providing current cloud services are adopting virtualization technologies, including virtual machines (VMs) and containers, in their distributed system infrastructure for automated application deployment. Accordingly, this paper proposes a process-based orchestration system for integrated execution of corporate process-oriented workloads by integrating the potential of big data and machine learning technologies. This system consists of four layers as components for performing workload processes. Additionally, a common information model is applied to the data to efficiently integrate and manage the various formats and uses of data generated during the process creation stage. Moreover, a standard metadata protocol is introduced to ensure smooth exchange between data. This proposed system utilizes various types of data storage to store process data, metadata, and analysis models. This enables flexible management and efficient processing of data.

  • In order to solve the problems of the digital library's Interoperability and integrated management, we analyzed core technologies for interoperability in digital library in terms of information creation, organization, service. And then we proposed information technology reference model that is composed of 7 scopes. The proposed scope included 1)Metadata Management, 2)Library Services, 3)Service Integration 4)Service Management, 5)Open Interface, 6)Network, 7)Architecture. Those results can be used as a framework for developing interoperable digital library system.

  • The Industrial Metadata Registry(IMR) for standardizing industrial information metadata was implemented and four drafts of metadata sets were developed based on the ISO/IEC 11179. The IMR consists of four individual metadata registries characterized by subject category. Accordingly, the system includes the integrated administration module, and the divisions administration module. The users of the system are divided into committee members and general users. The system has been developed with Oracle 9i and Java JSP over Linux operating system. The system will support the procedure for data sharing and exchanging among users and organizations and improve the availability and manageability of data and provide the standardization of data across the industry.

  • Business intelligence assumes an integrated and inter-connected information resources. To manage an integrated database, we need to trace data transformation processes from its outset. For this purpose, this study proposes an extended Information Structure Graph that models data transformation steps in addition to data transformation structures. Using the graph, we can identify relationship among data entities and assign data quality measures to each nodes or arcs of a graph, thus eases management of data and enhancing their quality.

  • The output and usage rate of audio-visual materials have sharply increased as the information industry advances and diverse archives became available. However, the awareness of the audio-visual archives are more of a separate record with collateral value. The organizations that hold these materials have very weak system of the various areas such as the categories and archiving methods. Moreover, the management system varies among the organizations, so the users face difficulty retrieving and utilizing the audio-visual materials. Thus, this study examined the feasibility of the synchronized management of audio-visual archives by comparing the descriptive elements of the audio-visual archives in internal key agencies. The study thereby examines the feasibility of the metadata element of the organizations and that of synchronized management to propose the effect of the use of management, retrieval and service of efficient AV materials. The study also proposes the improvement of descriptive element of metadata.
