복합제품시스템 추격을 위한 특허 기반 부상기술 탐색: 가스터빈 사례를 중심으로 (Exploration of emerging technologies based on patent analysis in complex product systems for catch-up: the case of gas turbine)

  • Korean manufacturing industry have recently faced the catch-up of China in the mass commodity product, such as automotive, display, and smart phone in terms of market as well as technology. Accordingly, discussion on the importance of achieving catch-up in complex product systems (CoPS) has been increasing as a new innovation engine for the industry. In order to achieve successful catch-up of CoPS, we explored emerging technologies of CoPS, which are featured by the characteristics of radical novelty, relatively fast growth and self-sustaining, through the study of emerging technologies of gas turbine for power generation. We found that emerging technologies of the gas turbine are technologies for combustion nozzle and composition of electrical machine for increasing power efficiency, washing technology for particulate matter, cast and material processing technology for enhancing durability from fatigue, cooling technologies from extremely high temperature, interconnection operation technology between renewable energy and the gas turbine for flexibility in power generation, and big data technology for remote monitoring and diagnosis of the gas turbine. We also found that those emerging technologies resulted in technological progress of the gas turbine by converging with other conventional technologies in the gas turbine. It indicates that emerging technologies in CoPS can be appeared on various technological knowledge fields and have complementary relationship with conventional technologies for technology progress of CoPS. It also implies that latecomers need to pursue integrated learning that includes emerging technologies as well as conventional technologies rather than independent learning related to emerging technologies for successful catch-up of CoPS. Our findings provide an important initial theoretical ground for investigating the emerging technologies and their characteristics in CoPS as well as recognizing knowledge management strategy for successful catch-up of latecomers. Our findings also contribute to the policy development of the CoPS from the perspective of innovation strategy and knowledge management.

기업 정보 시스템의 활용도 향상을 위한 정보활동 모니터링 (Information Activity Monitoring for Enhancing the Utilization of the Enterprise Information System)

  • 최근 들어 경쟁력 향상을 위해 많은 기업들이 기간 정보 시스템을 도입하여 운영하고 있는 추세이다. 도입된 정보 시스템의 활용도를 향상시키기 위해서는 정보 시스템 사용 현황을 실시간으로 모니터링/분석할 수 있는 체계를 갖추는 것이 필수적인데 현재 대부분의 기업 정보 시스템들은 이러한 체계적인 모니터링 기능을 제공하고 있지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 정보활동 모니터링 (IAM: Information Activity Monitoring) 프레임워크를 제안하고 이를 실사례를 통해 그 유용성을 보인다. IAM은 기업 내의 중요한 정보 처리 활동을 실시간으로 모니터링하고 분석하여 그 결과를 사용자에게 피드백 하는 행위라고 정의되며 기업의 정보 처리 행위에 관한 4가지 주요한 시각 (업무 프로세스, 데이터, 사용자/조직, IT 시스템)에 관한 요약 정보를 제공한다. 제안된 '정보활동 모니터링' 기능은 항공기 부품을 생산하는 기업의 설계/생산 통합 정보 시스템의 한 모듈로 개발되어 운영되고 있으며 이러한 기능은 특히 정보 시스템 도입의 필요성에는 공감하나 지속적인 운영에 필요한 인력과 시간이 부족한 중소기업의 정보 시스템 활용도 향상을 위한 필수적인 기능이라 판단된다.

중소기업 스마트 공장 확장성 사례연구 (A Case Study on Smart Factory Extensibility for Small and Medium Enterprises)

  • Smart factories can be defined as intelligent factories that produce products through IoT-based data. In order to build and operate a smart factory, various new technologies such as CPS, IoT, Big Data, and AI are to be introduced and utilized, while the implementation of a MES system that accurately and quickly collects equipment data and production performance is as important as those new technologies. First of all, it is very essential to build a smart factory appropriate to the current status of the company. In this study, what are the essential prerequisite factors for successfully implementing a smart factory was investigated. A case study has been carried out to illustrate the effect of implementing ERP and MES, and to examine the extensibilities into a smart factory. ERP and MES as an integrated manufacturing information system do not imply a smart factory, however, it has been confirmed that ERP and MES are necessary conditions among many factors for developing into a smart factory. Therefore, the stepwise implementation of intelligent MES through the expansion of MES function was suggested. An intelligent MES that is capable of making various decisions has been investigated as a prototyping system by applying data mining techniques and big data analysis. In the end, in order for small and medium enterprises to implement a low-cost, high-efficiency smart factory, the level and goal of the smart factory must be clearly defined, and the transition to ERP and MES-based intelligent factories could be a potential alternative.

공급망관리의 디지털화 : 구성요소와 전략적 파급효과 (Digitization of Supply Chain Management : Key Elements and Strategic Impacts)

  • 디지털화가 수반되지 않는 공급망은 마케팅, 상품개발, 제조, 물류 및 고객에의 상품 인도라는 여러 단계가 서로 독립적으로 수행되는 과정에 불과하다. 디지털화는 이런 여러 단계 간의 벽을 허물고, 모든 이해관계자 집단에게 투명하고 통합된 네트워크로의 변신을 가능하게 한다. 디지털 공급망관리의 최종 목표는 속도와 가시성이다. 이를 목표 달성을 위해서는 다양한 공급망 테크놀러지가 요구되는데, 여기에는 통합계획수립 및 운영체계, 공급망 애널리틱스, 자율적 물류관리, 스마트 물류센터와 스마트 팩토리 등이 포함된다. 이런 기술들은 예상치 못한 운영조건의 변동사항에 대한 가상 시나리오를 구축하고 이에 대한 솔루션을 제공함으로써 공급망 상의 변동에 대응할 수 있는 역량과 예측력을 강화시킨다. 본 연구에서는 공급망의 디지털화에 대한 여러 연구결과를 제시하고 현실적으로 기술도입 과정에서 제기되는 여러 이슈에 대한 논의를 시도해 보고자 한다. 연구결과에 대한 시사점도 함께 제시한다.

  • 현대의 생산공정에서는 많은 공정변수가 발생하고 있으며 복잡한 연관관계를 가지고 제품의 품질에 영향을 미치고 있다. 따라서 공정의 이상 유무 확인을 위해서는 많은 품질특성치를 동시에 관리하는 다변량 공정관리가 필요하다. 본 연구는 자기조직화 신경망(SOM)과 사례기반추론(CBR) 기법을 이용한 다변량 공정관리 방안을 제안한다. SOM을 이용하여 공정 데이터의 패턴을 생성하고 이상 유무 판단을 위해 기준패턴과 적합성 검정을 한다. 제안한 방법의 검증을 위해 공정에서 발생 가능한 패턴별로 데이터를 생성하여 실험하였고, 실험을 통해 이상패턴을 효과적으로 구별할 수 있음을 보였다. 또한 CBR 방법론을 적용하여 1종 오류는 줄이면서 2종 오류를 아주 작게 유지할 수 있음을 보임으로써, SOM과 CBR 이 결합된 절차가 다변량 공정관리를 위한 한 대안이 될 수 있음을 보였다.

TASK TYPES AND ERROR TYPES INVOLVED IN THE HUMAN-RELATED UNPLANNED REACTOR TRIP EVENTS

  • In this paper, the contribution of task types and error types involved in the human-related unplanned reactor trip events that have occurred between 1986 and 2006 in Korean nuclear power plants are analysed in order to establish a strategy for reducing the human-related unplanned reactor trips. Classification systems for the task types, error modes, and cognitive functions are developed or adopted from the currently available taxonomies, and the relevant information is extracted from the event reports or judged on the basis of an event description. According to the analyses from this study, the contributions of the task types are as follows: corrective maintenance (25.7%), planned maintenance (22.8%), planned operation (19.8%), periodic preventive maintenance (14.9%), response to a transient (9.9%), and design/manufacturing/installation (6.9%). According to the analysis of the error modes, error modes such as control failure (22.2%), wrong object (18.5%), omission (14.8%), wrong action (11.1 %), and inadequate (8.3%) take up about 75% of the total unplanned trip events. The analysis of the cognitive functions involved in the events indicated that the planning function had the highest contribution (46.7%) to the human actions leading to unplanned reactor trips. This analysis concludes that in order to significantly reduce human-induced or human-related unplanned reactor trips, an aide system (in support of maintenance personnel) for evaluating possible (negative) impacts of planned actions or erroneous actions as well as an appropriate human error prediction technique, should be developed.

  • 연구목적: 시퀀스제어는 제조, 유통, 건설, 의료 산업분야의 자동화 등에 응용되어 널리 사용하고 있다. 4차산업의 발전으로 제어분야에 인공지능 융합 기술이 산업에 중요한 요소가 되어가고 있다. 특히 기존 시스템에 마이크로프로세서와 인공지능이 융합된 설비의 안전성과 혁신성을 평가하고 신뢰성 높은 장비개발이 요구되고 있어 교육목적의 장비를 개발하여 해당분야의 발전을 견인하고자 한다. 연구방법: 자체 개발한 일체형 인공지능 컨트롤러 모듈은 기존의 시퀀스 및 PLC제어 회로에 인공지능 능력을 융합한 장비이다. 본 장비의 성능평가항목으로 동작, 음성, 문자, 색상 등의 인식 능력과 회로의 안정성, 신뢰성을 평가하였다. 결론: 시퀀스 및 PLC 회로를 설계 후 융합된 일체형 인공지능 컨트롤러 모듈의 성능평가항목이 모두 만족하였고 회로의 안전성과 신뢰성에 문제가 없는 것으로 나타났다.

소결 금속 윅 히트파이프 개발을 위한 제조 기술 연구 (A Study on the Manufacturing Technology for the Development of Heat Pipes with a Sintered Metal Wick)

  • The most the electronic industry has recently accelerated the modularization, the miniaturization and the high integrated trend of electronics fields such as electronics components, appliances and etc., the most increasingly the heat generation problem rises. Even though the conventional cooling technologies are widely used in order to reduce the heat loads, the technologies are not easy to meet the present trends due to the fact that most of many conventional methods are relative to external form environments such as size, design and so on. With regardless of those environments, however, a heat pipe is one of the most efficient systems to improve the heat transfer performance. And then the performance of the heat pipe depends on a wick structure. Of various wick structures, sintered metal wick is known so that it has some advantages such as smaller pore size, increasing porosity as well as high reliability. In this study sintered metal wicks, thickness 0.7 mm, 0.8 mm and 0.9 mm, were manufactured as of $100{\mu}m$ copper powder to obtain the manufacturing technology of heat pipes mounted with a sintered metal wick. Furthermore, experiments for the operational performance factors such as capillary limit, thermal resistance were not only performed but also compared with a theoretical model simultaneously. Experimental results agreed with the theoretical model, and then it seems to be required to study various development processes of sintered metal wicks for the high performance of a heat pipe system.

  • PLM(Product Lifecycle Management) is one of innovative manufacturing paradigms which leverages e-business technologies to allow a company's product content to be developed and integrated with all company business process through the extended enterprise. In these days, most construction companies also make an effort to enhance their systems for creating, sharing and managing information to improve business efficiency through entire lifecycle of project execution. Because of different needs, business process and diverse engineering activities such as design, structural analysis, installing simulation, documents and data managements, a new paradigm for construction companies is needed to manage and share the entire workflow, and information in total project lifecycle. In this paper, we conducted user requirement and business process analysis of constructions to design C-PLM system which is a PLM system for effective management of civil project and engineering activities. Also, we implement C-PLM system based on commercial PDM system, and applied it to civil project as case studies.

High Performance RF Passive Integration on a Si Smart Substrate for Wireless Applications

  • To achieve cost and size reductions, we developed a low cost manufacturing technology for RF substrates and a high performance passive process technology for RF integrated passive devices (IPDs). The fabricated substrate is a conventional 6" Si wafer with a 25${\mu}m$ thick $SiO_2$ surface. This substrate showed a very good insertion loss of 0.03 dB/mm at 4 GHz, including the conductive metal loss, with a 50 ${\Omega}$ coplanar transmission line (W=50${\mu}m$, G=20${\mu}m$). Using benzo cyclo butene (BCB) interlayers and a 10 ${\mu}m$ Cu plating process, we made high Q rectangular and circular spiral inductors on Si that had record maximum quality factors of more than 100. The fabricated inductor library showed a maximum quality factor range of 30-120, depending on geometrical parameters and inductance values of 0.35-35 nH. We also fabricated small RF IPDs on a thick oxide Si substrate for use in handheld phone applications, such as antenna switch modules or front end modules, and high-speed wireless LAN applications. The chip sizes of the wafer-level-packaged RF IPDs and wire-bondable RF IPDs were 1.0-1.5$mm^2$ and 0.8-1.0$mm^2$, respectively. They showed very good insertion loss and RF performances. These substrate and passive process technologies will be widely utilized in hand-held RF modules and systems requiring low cost solutions and strict volumetric efficiencies.
