  • Many new office buildings are being built as intelligent buildings equipped with building automation(HA) systems, office automation(OA) systems, and telecommunication(TC) systems in order to provide pleasant building environment and the ease of maintenance and facility management. Building control systems which are employed in intelligent buildings require varieties of advanced control systems and network systems for efficient integrated management. Design and installation of these types of advanced building control systems take a lot of efforts and also they are costly. In order to design these systems, it is necessary for the designers to have the integrated simulator including proper network system simulation. In this paper, the integrated simulator that consist of HVAC system, lighting system, elevator system, parking system based on the network system is presented. For the development of integrated simulator, AHENA which is the general-purpose software tool for a simulation with reinforced GUI is used.

의사결정지원기법을 이용한 농촌유역 통합 수질관리모형의 개발 (Development of Integrated Water Quality Management Model for Rural Basins using Decision Support System.)

  • A decision support system DSS-WQMRA (Decision Support System-Water Quality Management in Rural Area) was developed to help regional planners for the water quality management in a rural basin. The integrated model DSS-WQMRA, written in JAVA, includes four subsystems such as a GIS, a database, water quality simulation models and a decision model. In the system, the GIS deals with landuse and the location of pollutant sources. The database manages each data and supplies input data for various water quality simulation models. the water quality simulation model is composed of the GWLF( Generalized Watershed Loading Function), PCLM(Pollutant Loading Calculation Module) and the WASP5 model. The decision model based on mixed integer programming is designed to determine optimal costs and thus allow the selection of managemental practices to meet the water quality criteria. The methodology was tested with an example application in the Bokha River Basin, Kyunggi Province in Korea. It was proved that the integrated model DSS-WQMRA could be very useful for water quality management including the non-point source pollution in rural areas.

An Integrated Simulation Method to Support Virtual Factory Engineering

  • This paper presents a structure and architecture of an integrated simulation method (ISM) to meet the requirements of virtual factory engineering (VFE). Combining CAD, VR and discrete event simulation techniques, the ISM provides static and dynamic simulation functions for implementation of VFE throughout the lifecycle. The static simulation can be used to evaluate the factory layout. The dynamic simulation enables us to evaluate ergonomics of factory, process performance of production system, feasibility of production plan and operation of factory, and to train operators safely, which cover the whole VFE lifecycle. The principles of the key techniques of VFE, including virtual factory data management system (VFDMS), static and dynamic simulation, are also discussed. To demonstrate and validate the ISM, a case study has been carried out in an assembly factory.

  • 무기체계 소요제기부터 연구개발, 시험평가, 운영유지까지 국방 무기체계 획득 전 과정에서 활용하고 있는 국방M&S(Modeling & Simulation)정보를 과학적이고 체계적으로 관리하기 위해 SBA(Simulation Based Acquisition)통합정보체계가 구축·운영되고 있다. 국방 무기체계 획득 전 수명주기에 M&S자원을 적극적이고 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서는 SBA통합정보체계의 효율적인 운영방안이 필요하다. 이를 위해 SBA통합정보체계의 이용현황을 식별하고 운영성과측정을 수행한 결과, M&S자원 활성화와 획득업무 지원을 위해서는 SBA통합정보체계 운영 절차 수립과 더불어 세부적인 제도 마련이 필수적인 것으로 판단하였다. 본 논문에서는 SBA통합정보체계의 효율적인 운영을 위해 국방 M&S 정보관리 현황을 분석하고 국방 M&S 활성화와 체계적인 운영을 위한 정보체계의 개선방안을 제시한다.

Design of an integrated network management system for telecom subsystem in offshore plants

  • This study analyzed the offshore plant industry and related regulations such as ISO, IEC, and Norsok Standards to develop an integrated network management system (INMS) capable of both on-site and remote management and configuration of IP-based network equipment in offshore plants. The INMS was designed based on actual specifications and POS plans, and a plan of management was verified through an offshore plant engineering company. Various modules such as PAGA interface modules, CCTV, IP-PBX, and HF-radio communication modules were developed for system implementation. Protocol and data design and screen design were followed by framework development and introduction of the automatic satellite communication function.

자동차 생산라인을 위한 통합창고 시스템 (Integrated Storage System For Automobile Production Line)

  • The automobile manufacture is a typical integrated assembly production that the numerous parts are committed sequentially to the assembly line. In this type of automobile manufacture, WBS (white body storage) and PBS (paint body storage) are operated to adjust the production sequence and to buffer. Starvation (impossibility of production owing to the insufficient supply) or blocking (impossibility of production owing to the over capacity) could occur in some chance, hence, both storages (WBS, PBS) are integrated as a prevention. This system is called integrated storage. In this paper, we suggest the simulation model of 'WBS-PBS integrated storage' and methodology of operation considering both 'Color grouping' and 'Option leveling.'

  • We design an integrated production management system that incorporates management tasks of procurement of materials, production, and marketing. It includes MRP simulation on small or medium sized companies, design of databases, and definition of relevant objects in production environments. The system has been designed using object-oriented programming concept not only to represent the real-world situation easily, but also to help system integration. Graphics-User Interface(GUI) is also employed for the efficiency of production planning.

불확실성을 고려한 통합유역모델링 (Integrated Watershed Modeling Under Uncertainty)

  • The uncertainty in water quality model predictions is inevitably high due to natural stochasticity, model uncertainty, and parameter uncertainty. An integrated modeling system under uncertainty was described and demonstrated for use in watershed management and receiving-water quality prediction. A watershed model (HSPF), a receiving water quality model (WASP), and a wetland model (NPS-WET) were incorporated into an integrated modeling system (modified-BASINS) and applied to the Hwaseong Reservoir watershed. Reservoir water quality was predicted using the calibrated integrated modeling system, and the deterministic integrated modeling output was useful for estimating mean water quality given future watershed conditions and assessing the spatial distribution of pollutant loads. A Monte Carlo simulation was used to investigate the effect of various uncertainties on output prediction. Without pollution control measures in the watershed, the concentrations of total nitrogen (T-N) and total phosphorous (T-P) in the Hwaseong Reservoir, considering uncertainty, would be less than about 4.8 and 0.26 mg 4.8 and 0.26 mg $L^{-1}$, respectively, with 95% confidence. The effects of two watershed management practices, a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and a constructed wetland (WETLAND), were evaluated. The combined scenario (WWTP + WETLAND) was the most effective at improving reservoir water quality, bringing concentrations of T-N and T-P in the Hwaseong Reservoir to less than 3.54 and 0.15 mg ${L^{-1}$, 26.7 and 42.9% improvements, respectively, with 95% confidence. Overall, the Monte Carlo simulation in the integrated modeling system was practical for estimating uncertainty and reliable in water quality prediction. The approach described here may allow decisions to be made based on probability and level of risk, and its application is recommended.

  • 본 논문에서는 신재생에너지원을 포함하는 독립형 마이크로그리드시스템의 멀티에이전트시스템 기반의 분산에너지관리시스템 설계를 위한 통합시뮬레이션 모델을 제안한다. 멀티에이전트기반 분산에너지관리시스템은 일반적인 중앙에너지관리시스템에 비해 여러 장점들을 가지고 있으나 각 상태에 따른 설계가 비교적 복잡하여 기존의 전력시스템 도구를 이용하여 분산 에너지관리시스템을 설계하기에는 많은 어려운 점들이 있었다. 또한 설계된 에너지관리시스템을 실제 시스템에 적용하여 평가하는 것은 비능률적이기 때문에 효과적인 에너지관시스템을 설계하기 위해서는 통합시뮬레이션 모델이 필요하다. 제안된 통합시뮬레이션 모델은 Matlab/Simpowersystem 기반의 마이크로그리드시스템의 시뮬레이션 모델과 이벤트기반의 알고리즘 설계에 많은 장점이 있는 Matlab/StateFlow을 이용하여 설계된 멀티에이전트기반의 분산에너지관리시스템으로 구성되었다. 통합시뮬레이션 모델의 효용성을 보이기 위하여 특정한 동작 조건들에서 제안된 모델의 출력들을 분석하였다.

Research on a simulation-based ship production support system for middle-sized shipbuilding companies

  • Today, many middle-sized shipbuilding companies in Korea are experiencing strong competition from shipbuilding companies in other nations. This competition is particularly affecting small- and middle-sized shipyards, rather than the major shipyards that have their own support systems and development capabilities. The acquisition of techniques that would enable maximization of production efficiency and minimization of the gap between planning and execution would increase the competitiveness of small- and middle-sized Korean shipyards. In this paper, research on a simulation-based support system for ship production management, which can be applied to the shipbuilding processes of middle-sized shipbuilding companies, is presented. The simulation research includes layout optimization, load balancing, work stage operation planning, block logistics, and integrated material management. Each item is integrated into a network system with a value chain that includes all shipbuilding processes.
