수력발전기 On-line 부분방전 측정 시스템을 이용한 절연상태 진단의 신뢰성 향상 (Reliability Improvement of Insulation Diagnosis Using the Hydro-Generator On-Line Partial Discharge Monitoring System)

  • Accident dangerousness of domestic hydro power generators which are operated in Korea is on the increase because of use at the long term. On this, the Off-line diagnosis techniques developed to the On-line by continued domestic technical development since 2000. Especially, On-line insulation diagnosis of domestic hydro power generator is possible by localization of partial electric discharge sensor and On-line insulation diagnosis system. This paper shows the diagnosis result that is applied localized Ceramic Coupler and PDMS-HG(Partial Discharge Monitoring System for Hydro Generator) at four Chung-ju hydro Generator used for 25 years. Particularly, the confidence of insulation diagnosis is improved by using high frequency filter and sampling the partial discharge signals which occur in site. For reviewing the confidence of On-Line insulation diagnosis system, we measured the outside noises and partial discharge signals during practical operation by using the partial discharge diagnosis system of the Full A/D process. And we reviewed the confidence of the On-Line insulation diagnosis system by comparing and analyzing these data.

  • We worried about the technology difference between our company and the advanced company at present motor market and are asked to set up the independent coil insulation system to accumulate insulation technology data. And to export our products at oversee market, we are asked to the evaluation of insulation performance to show our product excellence. In this study, we evaluated the insulation system of our motor, and studied the insulation diagnosis technology systematically to do site diagnosis. We are now accumulating the measured data. And also to reduce the initial insulation failure, we performed the insulation characteristic test and acquired the data to evaluate the initial soundness. We are doing the improvement of the insulation system. And also these data were used to new product development as very useful data, also will be used in the insulation deterioration diagnosis to estimate the remained life time which is very important data for the maintenance management. As the result, we were able to get our product reliability.

A Study on Insulation Properties of Global VPI Type Generator through Replacement of Stator Windings

  • As the competition in the manufacturing market for small and medium sized generators is intensifying, there is increasing pressure to reduce production cost. Manufacturing the generator stator windings with global vacuum pressure impregnation (GVPI) is a very effective way to reduce costs. However, the stator winding has a fatal disadvantage in that the insulation wears due to vibration in the slot. KEPRI (KEPCO Research Institute) conducted insulation diagnosis for three generators in KOMIPO (Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd.) which were manufactured by GVPI and operated for about 17 years. Insulation diagnosis showed that deterioration of insulation has progressed significantly. Therefore, KEPRI recommended replacing the stator windings of all three generators. In this paper, the insulation properties of the generator stator winding with global GVPI are described by comparing and analyzing the insulation diagnosis results and visual inspection for stator windings.

  • Insulation aging diagnosis system provides early warning in regard to electrical equipment defects. Early warning is very important in that it can avoid great losses resulting from unexpected shutdown of the production line. For solving this problem, many researchers proposed a method that diagnose power plant by using partial discharge. In this paper, we design the intelligent sensor to diagnose insulation degradation state that uses a Microprocessor and Al. Proposed sensor has MCU that is used to diagnose insulation degradation and communicate with main IDD system. And we use a fuzzy model to diagnose insulation degradation.

  • As time goes by these cables make a insulation problems, and ask for a preventive diagnosis method. Cable has very high electrostatic capacity and insulation defects mainly caused by water-tree(WT). Dissipation factor test is very useful for detecting WT but it needs huge power supply. In this paper we presented a cable insulation diagnosis by dissipation factor using low frequency power supply.

  • Many methods were proposed for insulation degradation diagnosis to High voltage and capacity Transformer in live. IDD is difficult by those methods because insulation degradation circumstances and characteristics of electrical plant are different with other Therefore, it is necessary to design diagnosis algorithms fitting for each. In this paper, We develop IIDS that used diagnosis algorithm with fuzzy model and hardware with MCU.

  • When the large-capacity Mold type Transformer was passed through rain, after it was dried and it's parts were changed, Insulation Diagnosis was made to evaluate the condition of it and decide to recharge. Using the evaluation of Insulation Diagnosis, the urgent decision-making for recharge made blackout time minimum. In this study, it was considered that Insulation Diagnosis for the large-capacity Mold type Transformer is applied to decision-making for reuse of high voltage electric power equipment by analysis of the case study.

  • Insulation aging diagnosis system provides early warning regarding electrical equipment defects. Early warning is very important in that it can avoid great losses resulting from unexpected shutdown of the production line. Since relations of insulation aging and partial discharge dynamics are non-linear. it is very difficult to provide early warning in an electrical equipment. In this paper, we propose the design method of insulation aging diagnosis system that use a electromagnetic wave and acoustic signal to diagnose an electrical equipment. Proposed system measures the partial discharge on-line from DAS(Data Acquisition System and acquires 2D patterns from analyzing it. For filtering the noise contained in sensor signals we used ICA algorithms. Using this data, we design of the neuro-fuzzy model that diagnoses an electrical equipment and is investigated in this paper. Validity of the new method is asserted by numerical simulation.

When we export the electric machines to oversee market. we are asked to set up the insulation system to show our product excellence. We first evaluate the insulation system of our motors to realize higher reliability of high voltage insulation system. Therefore we are possible to do the insulation diagnosis in real site and have accumulated the data related in insulation diagnosis. Thus we have improved the our insulation system. And also these data were used to new product development as very useful data. also will be used the insulation deterioration diagnosis to estimate the remained life time which is very important data for the maintenance management. As the result. we are able to get the our product reliability.

  • Electrical insulation of small hydro generator stator winding is one of the most important parts in generator facilities. Some stator winding insulation problems can be identified through analysis of insulation diagnostic test. So, Diagnosis of stator winding insulation is an important measure of ensuring the safe operation and extending the remaining life of small hydro generator. This paper presents case studies of insulation failure in generator stator windings and the results of insulation diagnostic test for small hydro generator stator windings. Especially, Conducting the insulation diagnostic test before the generator installed in site is very important process to keep the good insulation condition in service.
