  • The role of knowledge as the key source of potential advantage for organizations and economies has become a hotly debated topic. Some studies found that organizations had their own knowledge management styles. Knowledge Management draws form existing resources that organizations may already have in place. Checking the organization's infrastructures for Knowledge Management is the first step for Knowledge Management. Although the as- is analysis of organizations before knowledge management is important, but there is no study on the readiness for Knowledge Management. This study reports on the development of an instrument designed to measure the readiness of an organization for knowledge Management. Starting with the literature, 4 dimensions - strategy, process, culture/people, and technology - and 18 factors were identified. Then, a questionnaire for measuring readiness was created. Finally, the instrument was pilot tested to prove its reliability and validity. Following the pilot test, the factors all demonstrated acceptable levels of reliability. The result is 19 factors instrument comprising 4 dimensions which provide a useful tool for measuring the readiness for Knowledge Management.

  • Measurement is a essential part in all kinds of industry, especially in manufacturing. But until now, measurement hasn't been located to the core of manufacturing in domestic. This study suggests improvement guide line for the multilateral problems of measuring instrument operation based on the investigation of small and medium-sized enterprises. To use measuring instrument correctly, man who treat it must be accustomed with the structure, the performance, the method. The measuring instrument must be corrected periodically. The correcting-schedule is established with environments with considering accuracy, stability, purpose, condition, and frequency.

  • Recently, the rapid progress of internet technology stirs the widespread development in the educational areas. Internet has been exploited as an effective means to support school information management as well as to supplement traditional off-line teaching-learning methods. Science instruments are very important tools for science-related courses in the elementary schools. However, managing science instruments effectively has not been concerned greatly so far. Only off-line management systems were presented. In this paper, a Web-based science instrument management system is proposed. The proposed Web-based science instrument management system has the following characteristics. First, an extensive model for science instrument management is presented. The proposed model can be used as a standard model for effective management. Second, the system can provide inventory information as well as standard instrument requirements to teachers anytime anywhere. The system helps teachers make decisions on procurement plan. Finally, the user interface is designed to support easy navigation and simple use.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the important factors of education service quality and to develop the evaluation instrument in learning facilities for care workers. This study was processed as four steps. First, the important factors were confirmed through literature reviews and the expert board discussions. Second, the evaluation instrument was developed and validity & reliability of the instrument were checked by factor analysis and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Lastly, the instrument was rechecked by the expert board in language usages and importance of the items. The results indicated that the important quality factors were divided with infrastructure and service process. Especially, the process contained providing appropriate education information & counseling, providing appropriate contract & paying fees, keeping specified service principles and so on. The study instrument was developed with 28 items. This instrument will be helpful to improve the education service quality. Besides, the staffs must continuously try to improve and manage their education services using the results of this kind of evaluation instrument.

  • Objective: This study was performed to investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of traditional Korean instrument player using a variety of traditional classical instruments: Gayageum, Geomungo, Ajaeng, Haegeum, Daegeum, Piri and Samul instruments. Background: A large percentage of instrument players have suffered from the musculoskeletal pain of each body parts. However, there is no research on the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of traditional Korean musical instrument players. Method: Through the focus group interview, a questionnaire to investigate musculoskeletal disorders was developed. The questionnaire consisted of four parts: demographic factors, performance factors, musculoskeletal disorders symptoms, musculoskeletal disorder experience. For the survey, 118 expert players participated. The data from the survey were analyzed by correlation analysis and chi-square analysis. Results: The symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders and the severe pain from musculoskeletal disorders were observed at neck, shoulder, back and knee. The musculoskeletal experience was statistically related to the factor of body height in Gayageum and Geomungo. In addition, the musculoskeletal experience in Geomungo was related to age and career. However, the musculoskeletal experience in Ajaeng and Haegeum was only related to the factor of hobby. The musculoskeletal experience in Daegeum and Piri was related to stretching. In addition, there was a statistical significance between the musculoskeletal experience and sex in Daegum. In Samul instruments, the statistical significance was observed at age, BMI, career and stretching. Conclusion: The symptoms of playing-related musculoskeletal disorders of traditional Korean musical players were prevalently observed at neck, shoulder, back and knee. In addition, these symptoms were related to the various demographic factors such as age, body height, BMI, career, sex, hobby and stretching. Application: The results of this study can be used as the preliminary data for preventing the musculoskeletal injuries of traditional Korean musical instrument players.

  • It is known from consumer surveys that the interior design of cars greatly influences on consumers' affection. Most notably, the instrument panel which occupies the driver's attention while driving would be one of the main components that affect consumer's affection, but the designer does not often put due importance to this design component. The purpose of this study is to define consumers' affection on the instrument cluster panel in terms of its design factors: color of panel lighting and layout of meters as independent factors. Semantic differentials or affective adjectives that are related to the instrument panel were first derived from surveys, existing studies and the available literature. Then, representative affective factors were drawn using factor analysis and multi-dimensional scaling (MDS). Evaluation of the instrument panel was performed and analyzed by Taguchi's robust design to provide more robust results under various noise factors which are color and material of car interior. Experiment revealed that consumers had five affective factors on the instrument panel and luxurious, charming, and visible affections are grouped into a factor and unique and dynamic affections in another factor. Evaluation of the instrument panel by Taguchi's robust design found that the white color of panel lighting and the panel with four meters was the most preferred design in terms of both the affection of luxury and uniqueness.

  • Measurement is used for evaluation of product or process exactly. If it couldn't measured correctly, Quality-cost must be raised and it would be hard to improve product quality. So, this study suggests improvement guide line for the multilateral problems of measuring instrument operation based on the investigation of 157 small and medium-sized enterprises in February, 2008. To use measuring instrument correctly, man who treat it must be accustomed with the structure, the performance, the method. The instrument is selected properly for the measurement goal. If not, results couldn't be correctly or wasted time, efforts, and costs. When selecting a instrument, the tolerance, the size, the figure, the material, and the efficiency must be considered. If the measuring instruments are controlled efficiently, it could be accomplished that improving product quality and coinciding with the goal of QM.
