  • There are an electronic and a manual type in Bidet. The electronic bidet has some advantages. it supplies multiple functions and is up easily. However, it has frequent defects and a high price. The manual bidet is not need to supply electric and is cheaper than the electronic type. However, it is needed to supply hot water and is hard to set up. In order to solve these defects, this study designed a bidet heating unit using an electric instantaneous water heating method. To get a proper heating elements, experiments were performed about a Ni-Cr heater and a film heater.

A Effect Saving Temperature of Instantaneous Heater Using An Economical Bidet Due to Change Silicon-Tube (실리콘 튜브의 변경으로 인한 절전형 비데용 순간 히터 온도 절감 효과)

  • We have studied that a effect saving temperature of instantaneous heater using an economical bidet due to change Silicon-Tube. The results, we have found that the existing instantaneous heater is reduced 15 [%], 20 [%] better than a new product instantaneous heater as a discharge water [${\ell}$/min] with temperature and ${\nabla}$ value, respectively. Therefore, we have showed that the innovative effect of a working process and the cost reduction because an economical bidet due to change Silicon-Tube.

A Method to Prevent CO Poisoning from Instantaneous Water Heaters (순간 가스온수기의 CO 중독사고 예방에 관한 연구)

  • Instantaneous water heater being not properly installed and not adequately maintained may produce fatal accidents due to carbon monoxide poisoning and suffocation. Insufficient supply of air into the gas appliance for complete burning of the fuel or blocking the outlet of the combustion gas could be a cause to increase carbon monoxide concentration in the exhaust gas of the gas appliance. In this work, the experiments are done with a collected instantaneous water heater using in domestic and the concentration of oxygen near the gas appliance and carbon monoxide in exhaust gas are observed to investigate the risk of instantaneous water heater. The concentration of oxygen near the gas appliance is reduced until 17.7% for the ratio of the ventilation area and floor area being 3.5%. If the outlet of combustion gas is blocked, the carbon monoxide concentration is steeply increasing more than 4,000ppm. Therefore, periodic checking the outlet of combustion gas is more important than vent area to reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Experimental Study on the Performance of a CO2 Heat Pump Water Heater under Various Operating Conditions (이산화탄소 급탕 열펌프의 운전조건에 따른 성능 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the steady state performance of a $CO_2$ heat pump water heater was measured with a variation of operating conditions such as refrigerant charge amount, compressor frequency, EEV opening, and water mass flow rate. Transient state performance tests were also conducted to investigate major system effects associated with the interaction between the $CO_2$ heat pump water heater and the water tank. Optimum refrigerant charge amount for the system was 1600 g. At compressor frequencies of 50 Hz and 60 Hz, water mass flow rates of 95 kg/h and 105 kg/h, and EEV opening of 8% and 16%, the water heating temperatures were $65^{\circ}C$ and $68^{\circ}C$ and COPs were 3.0 and 2.8, respectively. In the transient condition, the instantaneous COP decreased with an increase in the inlet water temperature.

Design and Verification of Ceramic Heating Element-based Tankless Instant Electric Water Heater (세라믹 발열체기반 비저장식 순간 전기 온수기 개발 및 검증)

  • This paper proposes a ceramic heating element-based tankless instant electric water heater for hand/face washing that does not require a lot of hot water. The heating module, which heats the input water and outputs hot water, operates the ceramic heating element detecting input water using a flow sensor. Inside of the heating module is designed to form one flow path in order to get almost $15^{\circ}C$ increased heated water compared to the input water temperature within 2 second after 1.5 liter per minute water supply. The design validity is verified using a heat flow analysis of the water flow and temperature variations inside of the heating module also. Based on the design data, the heating module is constructed including a single rod-type ceramic heating element. After that, a prototype system having temperature setting function by three steps were constructed. The prototype system is connected to a 1.5 liter per minute water supply line, and the water output temperature and time measurement experiments confirmed that the proposed system output the heated water increased by $18.3^{\circ}C$ in case of third step setting within 2 second after water supply. And standby power is under 1 W and peak power does not exceed the permissible range for the general house usage. Several performance results verify that the proposed tankless instant electric water heater is applicable for the washstand of the house, highway rest area and factory so on as winter-time hand/face washing.

  • This paper was studied on the cavitation instability of a Solution Pump Inducer in an absorption chiller-heater. Inlet pressure of LiBr and rotational speed at nominal mode are 2,800 Pa and 3,500 rpm respectively. Due to the marginal operation of available NPSH, the cavitation performance of the inducer is critical for the stable operation without the deterioration of head performance. In the study, cavitation performance and its mode of instability was investigated experimentally. Water was used as the working fluid and the test inducer was scaled up as 1.75 times for detail measurements and flow visualization. Inlet pressure was controlled by a vacuum pump. This research focused on types of cavitation instability and phenomena to investigate the possibility of harmful damage due to cavitation instability. Casing wall pressure and instantaneous inlet pressure was measured to observe the unsteady flow characteristics. Through the visualization and spectrum analysis of pressure, the occurrence region and intensity of asymmetric cavitation and cavitation surge are analyzed in the test inducer.
