연료전지 철도차량 적용을 위한 인터리브드 다상 승압형 컨버터 제어 (The control of Interleaved Multi-phase Boost Converter for Application of a Fuelcell Railway Vehicle)

  • Fuel cell power generation system, unlike conventional energy sources, converts chemical energy into electrical energy through electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. This paper presents the control of interleaved multi-phase boost converter as the feasibility study on small-scale prototype electric railway vehicle application using fuel cell generation system. PSIM simulation program is to be used to implement the modeling of the electrical fuelcell as well as traction motor control with interleaved multi-phase boost converter. Comparing the input current ripple rate, two-phase interleaved boost converter is less than the boost converter. But the more multi-phase not less proportional to the ripple factor. we confirmed that the amplitude of the input current ripple rate of converter depend on duty ratio.

  • This paper presents the method of reducing torque ripple of Blushless Direct Current(BLDC) motor. In the BLDC motor, the torque is decided by the back-EMF and current waveform. If the back-EMF is constant, the torque ripple depends on the current ripple during commutation period. The current in commutation period is acquired by circuit analysis and then the torque ripple simply can be reduced by varying input voltage to flow the current continuously. And suggested method is confirmed by dynamic with parameters of 500W BLDC motor.

  • In this paper, by designing 20 W class driving circuit for driving high-power LED (Light Emitting Diode), we are going to comparatively carry out the analysis of characteristics for power circuit according to each design method. In this case, 200 V 60 Hz was performed as input data. The electrical characteristics such as voltage, current and ripple are checked for constant current circuit and constant voltage circuit in the LED module. In addition, as the ripple has an influence on illumination of LED light, low temperature working (-20 [$^{\circ}C$]) and high temperature working(80 [$^{\circ}C$]) are measured to make sure the ripple characteristics in accordance with temperature. In low temperature operation -20 [$^{\circ}C$] measurements, both constant current circuit and constant-voltage circuit were less impacted on input fluctuation, whereas in the high temperature operation 80 [$^{\circ}C$], current voltage in constant voltage circuit was surge after 430 [hour]. Voltage current ripple of constant current circuit was much less than constant voltage circuit, therefore we can show that constant current circuit is more stable.

  • In this paper, the variation of phase current and input current ripple of interleaved boost converter at DCM for fuel cell applications are theoretically analyzed. Also, based on the detailed analysis, numerical formula of input current ripple expressed in rising and falling slope magnitude, D, and $D_A$ is proposed. In order to verify proposed formulas, simulation and experimental results are compared with theoretical data and validity of proposed theory is established.

  • In Korea, there are no instances where a hydrogen fuel cell power generation system has been used in a railway vehicle. Only the basic topology has been studied. In the previous study, conventional converters using a single switch were applied to the fuel cell power generation system. Therefore, current stress on the switch at converter on-off transitions would be large when controlling a large-capacity railway vehicle. In addition, since the input side ripple is also large, there is a problem with a shortening of the lifetime of both the fuel cell power generation system and the inductor. In this paper, a soft-switching transformer inductor boost converter for fuel cell powered railway vehicles was proposed. A technique to reduce both the switching current stress generated during on-off transitions, and the input ripple current flowing in the inductor were studied. The soft-switching TIB converter uses a transformer-type inductor to configure the entire circuit in an interleaved method, and reduces both input current ripple and the current ripple of the inductor and switch.

  • 태양광 시스템이나 연료전지 시스템에 많이 사용되는 DC-DC 컨버터는 부스트 컨버터이다. 이 중 입출력 전류 리플이 작은 인터리브드 부스트 컨버터가 최근에 많이 사용되고 있다. 이 회로는 입출력 전류 리플이 작기 때문에 입출력 커패시터의 크기를 줄일 수 있다. 따라서 기존의 전해 커패시터에서 신뢰성이 우수한 필름 커패시터를 사용할 수 있고 이는 전체 시스템의 수명 및 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 다단 인터리브드 부스트 컨버터의 입출력 전류리플의 수식을 유도하고 듀티에 따른 특성을 알아본다. 위에서 언급한 내용을 확인하기 위해서 PSIM 툴을 이용하여 계산된 값과 비교를 할 것이다.

  • In this paper, optimal design of interleaved boost converters is studied in order to design low ripple, size, loss and high performance converters for fuel cell applications. Also, the process of optimal design of interleaved boost converter has been performed. Input current ripple, output voltage ripple, losses and capacity of electrical components are theoretically analyzed and informative simulation and experimental results are provided.

  • An interleaved PWM converter is proposed to implement the features of zero voltage switching (ZVS), load current sharing and ripple current reduction. The proposed converter includes two ZVS converters with a common clamp capacitor. With the shared capacitor, the charge balance of the two interleaved parts is automatically regulated under input voltage and load variations. The active-clamping circuit is used to realize the ZVS turn-on so that the switching losses on the power switches are reduced. The ZVS turn-on of all of the switching devices is achieved during the transition interval. The interleaved pulse-width modulation (PWM) operation will reduce the ripple current and the size of the input and output capacitors. The current double rectifier (CDR) is adopted in the secondary side to reduce output ripple current so that the sizes of the output chokes and capacitor are reduced. The circuit configuration, operation principles and design considerations are presented. Finally experimental results based on a 408W (24V/17A) prototype are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

  • 태양광 시스템이나 연료전지 시스템 그리고 전기자동차에 많이 사용되는 DC-DC 컨버터는 부스트 컨버터이다. 이러한 부스트 컨버터를 병렬로 연결하고 위상차를 두고 동작하여 입출력 전류리플을 줄이는 인터리브드 부스트 컨버터가 최근에 많이 사용되고 있다. 이 회로는 입출력 전류 리플이 작기 때문에 입출력 커패시터의 크기를 줄일 수 있다. 따라서 기존의 전해 커패시터를 신뢰성이 우수한 필름 커패시터로 교체할 수 있고 이는 전체 시스템의 수명 및 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 다단 인터리브드 부스트 컨버터에 사용되는 출력 커패시터의 전류리플 수식을 유도하고 듀티에 따른 특성을 알아본다. 이를 확인하기 위해서 PSIM 툴을 이용하여 계산된 값과 비교를 할 것이다.

3상 PWM 정류기의 경부하시 입력전류 THD 저감을 위한 d축 전류리플 저감 PWM 방법 (PWM Method with Low d-axis Current Ripple for reducing Input Current THD at Light Loads in Three Phase PWM Rectifier)

  • In this paper, a new PWM method is proposed to reduce the input current harmonics of 3 phase PWM rectifier. In the conventional carrier comparison PWM method, a triangular wave is generally used as the carrier wave. However, the large d-axis current ripple by the triangle carrier wave may be a source of large input current THD(Total Harmonic Distortion). In this paper, a new carrier comparison PWM method with saw tooth wave is proposed. Depending on the sector where the voltage command vector places, one of the rising or falling saw tooth wave is selected. To reduce the switching losses of the saw tooth carrier PWM, the discontinuous PWM is also presented. The proposed PWM method can reduce the d-axis current ripple as well as the switching losses. The performance of the conventional and proposed PWM methods is verified by the simulation and experimental results.
