수정된 SOFM을 이용한 이동로봇의 전역 경로계획 (A Global Path Planning of Mobile Robot Using Modified SOFM)

  • A global path planning algorithm using modified self-organizing feature map(SOFM) which is a method among a number of neural network is presented. The SOFM uses a randomized small valued initial weight vectors, selects the neuron whose weight vector best matches input as the winning neuron, and trains the weight vectors such that neurons within the activity bubble are move toward the input vector. On the other hand, the modified method in this research uses a predetermined initial weight vectors of the 2-dimensional mesh, gives the systematic input vector whose position best matches obstacles, and trains the weight vectors such that neurons within the activity bubble are move toward the opposite direction of input vector. According to simulation results one can conclude that the modified neural network is useful tool for the global path planning problem of a mobile robot.

  • With the study for identifying the transmission characteristics of vibration and noise generated by operating engine system of a vehicle, recently many engineers have studied actively the reduction of vibration and noise inducing uncomfortableness to the passenger. In this study, output noise was analyzed by multi-dimensional spectral analysis and vector synthesis method. The multi-dimensional analysis method is very effective in case of identification of primary source, but this method has little effect on suggestion for interior noised reduction. For compensation of this, vector synthesis method was used to obtain effective method for interior noise reduction, after identifying primary source for output noise. In this paper, partial coherence function of each input was calculated to know which input was most coherent to output noise, then with simulation of changes for input magnitude and phase by vector synthesis diagram, the trends of synthesized output vector was obtained. As a result, the change of synthesized output vector could be estimated.

  • General Mechanical Structures have various and complex vibration transmission paths. In order to identify the mechanism of vibration transmission. The correct estimation of exciation forces and the exact modeling of transmission paths are required. In this paper, vector synthesis technique is employed to identify the characteristics of vibration input and it's transmission to body structure for the mounting system of a compressor in a refrigerator. Vibration reduction efficiency of each transmission path is evaluated by comparing individual vector components obtained before and after the paths from experimental research. The degree of effect is used to estimate the contribution of vibration input components to total output. And this paper presents a new technique based on simulation studies using vector synthesis dragram, by which the effects of change of the magnitude and phase of transmission paths can be predicted.

  • This paper proposes the multi-level vector error diffusion for smear artifact reduction in the boundary regions. Smear artifact mainly results from a large accumulation of quantization error. Accordingly, to reduce these artifacts, the proposed method excludes the large quantization error in the error diffusion process by comparing the magnitude of the error vector with predetermined first threshold. In addition, if the vector norm of the difference between the error adjusted input vector and the primary co]or that has minimum vector norm for the error adjusted input vector is larger than second threshold, the error is excluded. As a result, the proposed method reduce smear artifact in the boundary region and produces visually pleasing halftone pattern.

시소러스 도구를 이용한 실시간 개념 기반 문서 분류 시스템 (A Real-Time Concept-Based Text Categorization System using the Thesauraus Tool)

  • The majority of text categorization systems use the term-based classification method. However, because of too many terms, this method is not effective to classify the documents in areal-time environment. This paper presents a real-time concept-based text categorization system,which classifies texts using thesaurus. The system consists of a Korean morphological analyzer, athesaurus tool, and a probability-vector similarity measurer. The thesaurus tool acquires the meaningsof input terms and represents the text with not the term-vector but the concept-vector. Because theconcept-vector consists of semantic units with the small size, it makes the system enable to analyzethe text with real-time. As representing the meanings of the text, the vector supports theconcept-based classification. The probability-vector similarity measurer decides the subject of the textby calculating the vector similarity between the input text and each subject. In the experimentalresults, we show that the proposed system can effectively analyze texts with real-time and do aconcept-based classification. Moreover, the experiment informs that we must expand the thesaurustool for the better system.

대기상태인 논리 회로에서의 누설전류 최소화 입력 탐색 방법 (Low Leakage Input Vector Searching Techniques for Logic Circuits at Standby States)

  • 반도체 공정의 발달로 집적도가 증가하고 문턱전압이 감소하면서, 반도체 집적회로 소모 전력에서 누설전류(leakage current)의 비중이 점차 증가하고 있다. 대기 상태에서 CMOS 조합 회로(combinational circuit)는 입력 값에 따라 누설전류가 크게 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 누설전류로 인한 소모전력을 줄이기 위해 대기 상태 (standby state) 회로의 입력 신호를 제어하며, 작은 누설전류를 갖는 입력 신호를 찾기 위한 새로운 효율적인 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 이 방법을 벤치마크 예제에 실험적으로 적용하여 누설전류 평균값에 비해 15.7%, simulated evolution 방법에 비해 6.7% 누설전류를 줄일 수 있음을 보였다. 또한 순차 회로에서도 idle 입력을 이용하여 누설전류 평균값에 비해 6.8%, simulated evolution 방법에 비해 3.2% 누설전류를 줄일 수 있었다.

하나의 카메라를 이용한 이동로봇의 이동물체 추적기법 (Visual Tracking of Moving Target Using Mobile Robot with One Camera)

  • A new visual tracking scheme is proposed for a mobile robot that tracks a moving object in 3D space in real time. Visual tracking is to control a mobile robot to keep a moving target at the center of input image at all time. We made it possible by simplifying the relationship between the 2D image frame captured by a single camera and the 3D workspace frame. To precisely calculate the input vector (orientation and distance) of the mobile robot, the speed vector of the target is determined by eliminating the speed component caused by the camera motion from the speed vector appeared in the input image. The problem of temporary disappearance of the target form the input image is solved by selecting the searching area based on the linear prediction of target motion. The experimental results have shown that the proposed scheme can make a mobile robot successfully follow a moving target in real time.

휘도를 고려한 기준색 선택 기반의 다단계 벡터 오차 확산법 (Multi-level Vector Error Diffusion Based on Primary Color Selection Considering Lightness)

  • 본 논문에서는 64개 기준색을 사용한 다단계 벡터 오차 확산법에서 나타나는 밝은 영역에서의 색 자극 문제를 개선하는 방법을 제안하였다. 벡터 오차 확산법은 양자화 과정에서 입력 벡터와 기준색 벡터간의 기하학적 거리만을 이용하기 때문에 밝은 영역에서 어두운 기준색이 선택되는 색 자극이 발생한다 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 오차 보정된 입력 벡터의 채도를 계산하여 유채색과 무채색으로 나누고, 유채색일 경우 입력 벡터의 휘도를 이용하여 밝은 영역, 중간 밝기 영역, 어두운 영역으로 구분한다. 밝은 영역일 경우 60개 유채색 기준색중에서 입력 벡터와의 휘도차가 작은 N개의 후보 기준색을 구성한다. 최종 기준색을 선택할 때는 N개의 후보 기준색과 4개의 무채색 기준색중에서 오차 보정된 입력 벡터와의 최소 기하학적 거리를 가지는 기준색을 출력색으로 결정한다 실험 결과, 제안한 방법은 자은 영역에서 색 자극이 줄어들어 시각적으로 보기 좋은 결과를 보였다.

LED배열을 이용한 인코히어런트광벡터매트릭스 곱셈기〈IOVMM〉에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Incoherent Optical Vector-Matrix Multiplier(IOVMM)using a LED array)

  • 벡터-매트릭스 곱셈을 인코히어런트(incoherent)광원에 의해 빠른 속도로 대량의 정보를 처리할 수 있는 IOVMM(incoherent optical vector matrix multiplier)을 구성하고 실험결과와 이론치를 비교하였다. 입력 벡터 및 매트릭스의 원소들은 양의 실수로만 국한시키고 입력 벡터는 LED배열로 나타내었으며 매트릭스는 마스크상에 면적변조방식으로 부호화하였다. 이 두 곱셈의 결과는 렌즈계를 통하여 포토 다이오우드 배열로 검출하였으며 하나의 채널로 출력신호를 관찰하기 위하여 애널로그 멀티플렉스를 사용하였다.

Quadratic Loss Support Vector Interval Regression Machine for Crisp Input-Output Data

  • Support vector machine (SVM) has been very successful in pattern recognition and function estimation problems for crisp data. This paper proposes a new method to evaluate interval regression models for crisp input-output data. The proposed method is based on quadratic loss SVM, which implements quadratic programming approach giving more diverse spread coefficients than a linear programming one. The proposed algorithm here is model-free method in the sense that we do not have to assume the underlying model function. Experimental result is then presented which indicate the performance of this algorithm.
