An observer-based fault tolerant control (FTC) method is proposed for constrained switched systems (CSS) with input constraints. A family of Lyapunov-based bounded controllers are designed to ensure that, whenever actuator faults occur at the dwell time period of each continuous mode, the mode is always within its corresponding stability region. A set of switching laws are designed to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the overall CSS. The fixed stability regions on which the FTC method is based are also relaxed by the proposed variable stability regions. An example of CPU processing illustrates the effectiveness of proposed method.
This paper presents a MIMO nonlinear controller for the power system consisting of a turbine and a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus. The controller proposed is based on feedback input-output linearization; its main goal is to regulate the terminal voltage and frequency, and is to improve the transient stability under large disturbances and unexpected faults. It is guaranteed that the voltage converges to its reference value exponentially, and that the frequency and the mechanical/electrical power are bounded. The design procedure is tested on a single machine infinite bus power system through simulations, and is seen to be effective.
This paper describes the novel control techniques design of VSC(Voltage Sag Corrector) for the purpose of power line quality enhancement. A fast detecting technique of voltage sag is implemented through the detection of instantaneous value on synchronous rotating do-reference frame. The first order digital filter is added in the detection algorithm to protect the insensitive characteristics against the noise. The relationship between the total detection time and cut-off frequency of the filter is described. The size of the capacitor bank used as the energy storage element is designed from the point of view of input/output energy with circuit analysis. Finally, the validity of the proposed scheme is proven through the simulated results.
As a building is getting large-scale, composition and intelligence, it is required the stability of building electrical facilities. And it is very difficult of rapidly repair on a breakdown of building electrical facilities. Therefore high-reliability and efficiency of building safety is required. And thus, this study presents the repair-maintenance support program for preventive maintenance on a builing electrical facilities. This program makes offer some functions, facilities history input mode, checking and result mode. User can be made offer the cause and effect information of facilities-faults by this preventive maintenance program.

The advantage of the squirrel cage induction motor is the brush less rotor. This advantage for operation and maintenance turns out to be a disadvantage for the detection of the cage rotor bar and endring defects, which means that the detection of cage faults is due to the measurement and analysis of only the stator input signals. The monitoring task in an inverter drive is complicated mainly because the voltage and current waveforms are nonsinusoidal and the high dv/dt values from fast switching inverterd distort the measurements. In this paper, we are going to discuss the detection method of broken rotor bar of the inverter fed squirrel cage induction motor by the motor current signature analysis(MCSA) and the opening terminal voltage signal analysis.
In this thesis, we present efficient techniques to reduce the switching activity in a CMOS combinational logic network based on local logic transforms. But this techniques is not appropriate in the view of testability because of deteriorating the random pattern testability of a circuit. This thesis proposes a circuit design method having two operation modes. For the sake of power dissipation(normal operation mode), a gate output switches as rarely as possible, implying highly skewed signal probabilities for 1 or 0. On the other hand, at test mode, signals have probabilities of being 1 or 0 approaching 0.5, so it is possible to exact both stuck-at faults on the wire. Therefore, the goals of synthesis for low power and random pattern testability are achieved. The hardware overhead sof proposed design method are only one primary input for mode selection and AND/OR gate for each redundant connection.
This paper presents a new numerical algorithm suitable for defining recloser reclaims time and blocking automatic reclosing during permanent faults on overhead lines. It is based on terminal voltage input data processing. The decision if it is safe or not to reclose is determined from the voltage signal of faulted and tripped line phase using Total Harmonic Distortion factor calculated by Discrete Fourier Transform. The algorithm was successfully tested using signals recorded on the real power system. The tests demonstrate the ability of presented algorithm to determine the secondary arc extinction time and to block unsuccessful automatic reclosing of HV lines with permanent fault.
Electronic control system of the engine is composed of various sensors and actuators, This paper is concerned with fault analysis for the stable operation of it. We suggest the technology that can systematically and reliably analyze fault causes of sensors and actuators by using the fault generating program. In results, we can acquire the systematic road map of occurring faults as well as the valuable information related to the operations of sensors and actuators. These results should be very useful to get the classification of fault causes, develop an electronic control system of engine, and review control strategies of it.
This paper proposes a new weighted random pattern testing technique to detect path delay faults in combinational logic circuits. When computing the probability of signal transition at primitive logic elements of CUT(Circuit Under Test) by the primary input, the proposed technique uses the information on the structure of CUT for initialization vectors and vectors generated by pseudo random pattern generator for test vectors. We can sensitize many paths by allocating a weight value on signal lines considering the difference of the levels of logic elements. We show that the proposed technique outperforms existing testing method in terms of test length and fault coverage using ISCAS '85 benchmark circuits. We also show that the proposed testing technique generates more robust test vectors for the longest and near-longest paths.
This paper outlines a framework for a diagnosis of a complex system with uncertain information. Sensor validation ploys a vital role in the ability of the overall system to correctly determine the state of a system monitored by imperfect sensors. Here, emphases are put on the heuristic technology and post-processor for reasoning. Heuristic Sensor Validation (HSV) exploits deeper knowledge about parameter interaction within the plant to cull sensor faults from the data stream. Finally the modified probability distributions and validated data are used as input to the reasoning scheme which is the runtime version of the influence diagram. The output of the influence diagram is a diagnostic mapping from the symptoms or sensor readings to a determination of likely failure modes. Once likely failure modes are identified, a detailed diagnostic knowledge base suggests corrective actions to improve performance. This framework for a diagnostic expert system with sensor validation and reasoning under uncertainty applies in $HEATXPRT^{TM}$ a data-driven on-line expert system for diagnosing heat rate degradation problems in fossil power plants [1].
