  • A large NaX type zeolite crystal of a uniform particle size of 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ are grown with various H2O content by hydrothermal reaction and added seed crystal (2~3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) to reactant solution as a function of different adding seed levels from 3 to 15 %. The result that increased purity of NaX zeolite above 95% and homogeneity of crystal size by increasing adding seed levels, also decreased crystallization time. It was explained that adding seed to synthesis solution leaded out increase of surface area of physical contact reaction and directed growth of seed crystal, so more rapid consumption of reaction gel as increase seeding levels.

  • 자체 제작한 EFG 장치를 이용하여 ${alpha}-Al_2O_3$ rod 형태의 단결정을 육성하였다. EFG법의 원리를 연구하여 성장 조건을 수립하였고 성장한 단결정의 결함 voids, striation, 균열, 과 냉각 현상을 광학현미경으로 분석하였다.

  • 화학분야 정보 중 무기재료 합성 및 물성 연구에 필수적으로 사용되는 무기결정구조 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 또한 국내 연구자들이 무기결정구조 정보를 웹에서 손쉽게 검색할 수 있는 웹 검색 시스템을 개발하였다. 데이터 소스는 독일의 FIZ-Karlsruhe에 의해 수집된 1915년부터의 데이터 약 65,000건을 확보하였으며 빠르고 효율적인 화합물 검색이 가능하도록 데이터베이스를 설계, 검색 시스템을 개발하였고 특히 결정구조에 대한 수치검색이 가능하도록 개발하였다.

Growth of the substrate crystals for $La_{2-x}Sr_{x}CuO_{4}$ thick films

  • The distribution coefficients of Ni and Zn to the Cu site in $La_{2-x}Sr_{x}CuO_{4}$(LCO) were investigated to determine the suitable solvent composition ofr crystal growth of $La_{2}{Cu}_{1-x}{M}_{x}{O}_{4}$(M=NI, Zn)(LCMO), and were found to be 4.2 for NI and 0.66 for Zn, respectively. Single crystals of LCO, and LCMO of high homogeneity were grown by traveling solvent floating zone technique using suitable solvents. NO diamagnetic signals were observed for all substituted crystals. This fact suggests that crystals of LCO partially substituted by Ni or Zn are useful as substrate crystals.
