Methylene Blue의 방사선 방어결과 1. Methylene Bluerk가 $\gamma$선에 조사된 흰쥐의 유산탈수소효소의 함량과유산탈수소효소의 동위효소에 미치는 영향 (Radioprotective Effect of Methylene Blue 1. Effect of Methylene Blue on Lactic Dehydrogenase Level and Lactic Dehydrogenase Isoenzymes of Rats Exposed to Gamma-Irradiation)

  • 盛熱한 albino 雄性 흰쥐를 對照群과 實驗群으로 나누어 對照群에는 0.9% 生理食鹽水를, 實驗群에는 methylene blue(38mg/kg, 食鹽水에 溶解 pH 7.4)를 各各 腹腔注射處理하였다. 約 30 分後 兩群 共히 總線量 360 rads 인 $^60 Co$의 r 線을 一時 全身照射하였다. 照射後 212時間에 걸쳐 血淸總乳酸脫水素酵素의 含量(Cabaud and Droblewski 1958)과 血淸을 비롯하여 肝, 心臟, 精巢組織의 乳酸脫水素酵素의 同位酵素vnfortys(Preston et al., 1965)을 各各 測定하여 methylene blue 의 放射線에 對한 防禦 果를 硏究調査하였다. 一般的으로 血淸總乳酸脫水素酵素의 含量은 兩群共히 r 線照射後 初期에 增加하나 特히 methylene blue 實驗群인 處理群은 對照群인 生理食鹽水群에 比하여 15 및 64 時間區에서 增加의 遲滯性을 나타내었다. 血淸과 肝, 心臟 및 精巢組織의 乳酸脫水素酵素의 同位酵素는 兩群共히 線照射後 40과 116 時間區에서 陽極쪽의 同位酵素 푸랙숀 含量은 減少한다. 照射群 methylene blue 處理群의 血淸과 肝 및 精巢組織 乳酸脫水素酵素의 同位酵素패턴에서는 對照群과 別差異가 없었으나 特히 methylene blue 處理群의 心臟組織은 對照群에 比하여 若干의 增減의 遲滯性을 나타내었다. 兩群共히 照射後 血淸乳酸脫水素酵素含量의 增加는 同位酵素푸랙숀 1의 增加에 基因된다고 思料되며 이상의 結果로 미루어 보아 總乳酸脫水素酵素 活性과 心臟組織의 乳酸脫水素酵素의 同位酵素패턴에 있어서 methylene blue가 放射線防禦 果가 있는 것으로 思料된다.

SonazoidTM versus SonoVue® for Diagnosing Hepatocellular Carcinoma Using Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in At-Risk Individuals: A Prospective, Single-Center, Intraindividual, Noninferiority Study

  • Objective: To determine whether Sonazoid-enhanced ultrasound (SZUS) was noninferior to SonoVue-enhanced ultrasound (SVUS) in diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using the same diagnostic criteria. Materials and Methods: This prospective, single-center, noninferiority study (NCT04847726) enrolled 105 at-risk participants (71 male; mean age ± standard deviation, 63 ± 11 years; range, 26-86 years) with treatment-naïve solid hepatic nodules (≥ 1 cm). All participants underwent same-day SZUS (experimental method) and SVUS (control method) for one representative nodule per participant. Images were interpreted by three readers (the operator and two independent readers). All malignancies were diagnosed histopathologically, while the benignity of other lesions was confirmed by follow-up stability or pathology. The primary endpoint was per-lesion diagnostic accuracy for HCC pooled across three readers using the conventional contrast-enhanced ultrasound diagnostic criteria, including arterial phase hyperenhancement followed by mild (assessed within 2 minutes after contrast injection) and late (≥ 60 seconds with a delay of 5 minutes) washout. The noninferiority delta was -10%p. Furthermore, different time delays were compared as washout criteria in SZUS, including delays of 2, 5, and > 10 minutes. Results: A total of 105 lesions (HCCs [n = 61], non-HCC malignancies [n = 19], and benign [n = 25]) were evaluated. Using the 5-minutes washout criterion, per-lesion accuracy of SZUS pooled across the three readers (72.4%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 64.1%-79.3%) was noninferior to that of SVUS (71.4%; 95% CI, 63.1%-78.6%), meeting the statistical criterion for non-inferiority (difference of 0.95%p; 95% CI, -3.8%p-5.7%p). The arterial phase hyperenhancement combined with the 5-minutes washout criterion showed the same sensitivity as that of the > 10-minutes criterion (59.0% vs. 59.0%, p = 0.989), and the specificities were not significantly different (90.9% vs. 86.4%, p = 0.072). Conclusion: SZUS was noninferior to SVUS for diagnosing HCC in at-risk patients using the same diagnostic criteria. No significant improvement in HCC diagnosis was observed by extending the washout time delay from 5 to 10 minutes.

Liver CT 단면영상에서 간세포암과 간혈관종의 객관적 영상분석 (The Objective Image Analysis for HCC and HH with a Axial Image of Liver CT Scan)

  • Liver CT 검사에서 간세포암과 간혈관종의 구별은 악성종양과 양성종양을 구별하여 치료방법을 결정하는 것에 있어서 중요한 검사 방법 중 하나이다. 현재 사용되는 방법은 전문의의 주관적인 해석에 의해 판독이 이루어지고 있으며, 추가적인 해석을 위해 본 연구에서는 객관적인 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 조영제 주입 후 검사시간은 조영주입전기(Pre), 동맥기(35sec), 문맥기(70sec), 지연기(180sec)로 하였다. 조영증강패턴변화(Enhancement Pattern) 에서 간세포암의 일반적인 패턴변화는 26.6% 로 관찰 되었다. 간혈관종의 일반적인 패턴변화는 16.6%로 관찰 되었다. 간세포암과 간혈관종의 HU(Hounsfield unit)값 변화를 관찰하기 위해 각각의 시간별 평균값과 표준편차를 확인한 결과 Lesion부위의 artery-portal차이가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. (간세포암 $19.76{\pm}23.52$, 간혈관종 $60.23{\pm}29.43$). 간세포암 에서 76.6%, 간혈관종 에서 80.0%가 일치하게 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 HCC와 HH의 객관적 분석 지표로 HU값 을 제안하고 분석방법을 임상에 사용 한다면 진단에 도움을 줄 것이다.

  • Isolated rat adipocytes are well known to possess opposite pathways of lipid metabolism: lipolysis and ipogenesis. Both of the metabolism respond to various biologically active substances such as epinephrine, ACTH and insulin. Epinephrine and ACTH stimulate lipolysis and insulin accelerates lipogenesis. Recently, Korean red ginseng powder was found to contain adenosine and an acidic poptide which inhibited epinephrine-induced lipolysis and sl imulated insulin-mediated lipogenesis from added glucose. The acidic peptide is consisted mainly of glutamic acid and glucose. Ginsenosides Rb1 and Re inhibited ACTH-induced lipolysis in isolated rat adipocytes, while they did not affect insulinstimulated lipogenesis, Thus, all these substances extracted from Korean red ginseng exhibited selective modulations toward the opposite metabolic pathways in rat adipocyte; They inhibited the lipolysis but not the lipogenesis. We call these substances"selective modulators". Recently, we isolated a toxic substance named "toxohormone-L " from ascites fluid of patients with various malignant tumors. The toxohormone-L stimulated lipolysis in rat adipocytes and induced anorexia in rats. Both the lipolytic and the anorexigenic actions of toxohormone-L were found to be inhibited by ginsenoside Rb2 in Korean red ginseng. Based on these results, physiological signifi¬cances of these substances in Korean red ginseng were discussed. Pan ax ginseng is a medicinal plant long used in treatment of various pathological states including general complaints such as head ache, shoulder ache, chilly constitution and anorexia in cancer patients, There have been many pharmacological studies on Panax ginseng roots. Petkovllreported that oral administration of an aqueous alcoholic extract of ginseng roots decreased the blood sugar levtl of rabbits. Saito2lreported that Panax ginseng suppressed hyperglycemia induced by epinephrine and high carbohydrate diets. These findings suggest that Panax ginseng roots contain insulin-like substances. Previously, we demonstrated that gin¬seng roots contain an insulin-like peptide which inhibits epinephrine-induced lipolysis and stimulated insulin-mediated lipogenesis. In 1984, we suggested that such an insulin-like substance should be called a selective modulator4). Present investigation describes the details of the selective modulators in ginseng roots. During progressive weight loss in patients with various neoplastic disease, depletion of fat stores have been observed. The depletion of body fat during growth of neoplasms is associated with increase in plasma free fatty acids. Recently, we found that the ascites fluid from patients with hepatoma or ovarian tumor and the pleural fluid from patients with malignant lymphoma elicited fatty acid release in slices of rat adipose tissue in vitro. The lipolytic factor, named"toxohormone-L". was purifed from the ascites fluid of patients with hepatoma. The isolated preparation gave a single band on both disc gel electrophoresis and sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)-acrylamide gel electrophoresis in the presence of ${\beta}$-mercaptoethanol. Its molecular weight was determined to be 70,000-75,000 and 65,000 by SDS-acrylamide gel electrophoresis and analytical ultracentrifugation, respectively. Injection of toxohormone-L into the lateral ventricle of rats significantly suppressed food and water intakes. There was at least 5 hr delay between its injection and appearance of its suppressive effect. In the present study, we also tried to find a inhibitory substance toward toxohormone-L from root powder of ginseng.

COMBUSTION VISUALIZATION AND EMISSIONS OF A DIRECT INJECTION COMPRESSION IGNITION ENGINE FUELED WITH BIO-DIESOHOL

  • The purpose of this paper is to experimentally investigate the engine pollutant emissions and combustion characteristics of diesel engine fueled with ethanol-diesel blended fuel (bio-diesohol). The experiments were performed on a single-cylinder DI diesel engine. Two blend fuels were consisted of $15\%$ ethanol, $83.5\%$ diesel and $1.5\%$ solublizer (by volume) were evaluated: one without cetane improver (E15-D) and one with a cetane improver (E15-D+CN improver). The engine performance parameters and emissions including fuel consumption, exhaust temperature, lubricating oil temperature, Bosch smoke number, CO, NOx, and THC were measured, and compared to the baseline diesel fuel. In order to gain insight into the combustion characteristics of bio-diesohol blends, the engine combustion processes for blended fuels and diesel fuel were observed using an Engine Video System (AVL 513). The results showed that the brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) increased at overall engine operating conditions, but it is worth noting that the brake thermal efficiency (BTE) increased by up to $1-2.3\%$ with two blends when compared to diesel fuel. It is found that the engine fueled with ethanol-diesel blend fuels has higher emissions of THC, lower emissions of CO, NOx, and smoke. And the results also indicated that the cetane improver has positive effects on CO and NOx emissions, but negative effect on THC emission. Based on engine combustion visualization, it is found that ignition delay increased, combustion duration and the luminosity of flame decreased for the diesohol blends. The combustion is improved when the CN improver was added to the blend fuel.

다중모드 VCSEL의 모드 특성과 동특성 사이의 관계 (Relationship between Transverse-Mode Behavior and Dynamic Characteristics in Multi-Mode VCSELs)

  • 모드별 광출력-전류-전압 특성, RIN (relative intensity noise) 스펙트럼, 계단 전류입력에 대한 과도응답의 측정을 통하여 다중 횡모드 VCSEL의 모드 거동과 동특성 사이의 관계에 대하여 살펴보았다. RIN 스펙트럼의 공진 주파수는 모드별 광출력 특성 곡선으로 잘 설명할 수 있었다. 그리고, 활성영역이 넓은 VCSEL은 각각의 횡모드가 문턱전류가 서로 다른 독립적인 레이저로 동작하여 turn-on 지연시간이 달라 다단계 turn-on 특성을 보인다. 고차 모드가 발진하면서 이렇게 펄스의 파형이 찌그러지고 상승시간이 급격히 증가하기 때문에 단일 모드로 동작하도록 전류입력을 조절하지 않으면 고속 광통신용 광원으로서는 적합하지 않게 된다.

  • 에너지 절약은 해상운송분야에서 이익을 내기 위한 가장 중요한 요인 중 하나이다. 연료 소비율을 낮추기 위해서는 가능한 한 선박의 추진효율을 높여야만 한다. 추진효율은 추진기관과 낮은 회전속도에서 더 좋은 효율을 갖는 프로펠러의 조합에 의존한다. 기관은 저속이 될수록 연료분사과정에서의 지연시간으로 인해 회전 토크 변동이 심해진다. 본 연구에서는 강인 제어이론을 적용하여 강인 안정성과 강인 성능을 고려한 기관 속도제어기들, 즉 준최적 $H_{\infty}$제어기, $H_{\infty}$루프-성형 제어기 및 ${\mu}$-제어기를 설계한다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 이들 3가지 제어기의 타당성을 검토한다.

  • This study describes the effect of EGR rate on the combustion and emissions characteristics of a four cylinder CRDI diesel engine using biodiesel (soybean oil) blended diesel fuel. The test fuel is composed of 30% biodiesel and 70% ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel) by volumetric ratio. The experiment of engine emissions and performance characteristics were performed under the various EGR rates. The experimental results showed that ignition delay was extended, the maximum combustion pressure and heat release gradually were decreased with increasing EGR rate. Comparing biodiesel blended fuel to ULSD, the injection quantity of biodiesel blended fuel was further increased than ULSD. The emission results showed that $NO_x$ emission of biodiesel blended fuel becomes higher according to the increase of EGR rate. However, in the case of biodiesel blended fuel, HC, CO and soot emissions were decreased compared to ULSD.

정수장 잔류염소 일정제어를 위한 지능형 제어기 개발 (Intelligent Controller for Constant Control of Residual Chlorine in Water Treatment Process)

  • 본 논문에서는 발암물질 저감을 위하여 정수장 염소투입공정 중 전염소 주입에 따른 침전지의 염소 증발량이 주야간, 계절별 현격한 차이가 발생함에 따라 시간대별/계절별/날씨별 유입목표 잔류염소를 변경하고자 운영자의 경험에 기반한 퍼지 모델링 기법을 도입하였다. 퍼지에 의해 설정된 목표 잔류염소농도를 유지하기 위하여 침전지 유입부에 잔류염소 계측기를 추가 설치하여 피드백 Loop 시간을 최소화하였고 지연시간이 긴 시스템에 적용되는 이중 피드백 제어시스템인 캐스케이드 제어를 병행 실시하였다. 이를 통해 소독공정의 고유특성인 시간지연에 대한 선제적 대응 및 침전지 잔류염소농도 변화폭을 7.3배가량 안정화를 시키고 염소소모량을 저감하여 안정적이고 경제적인 물 공급이 가능하도록 하였다.

목질 열분해유를 사용하는 디젤엔진의 성능 및 배기특성에 관한 연구 (Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Operated with Wood Pyrolysis Oil)

  • The vast stores of biomass available in the worldwide have the potential to displace significant amounts of fuels that are currently derived from petroleum sources. Fast pyrolysis of biomass is one of possible paths by which we can convert biomass to higher value products. The wood pyrolysis oil (WPO), also known as the bio crude oil (BCO), have been regarded as an alternative fuel for petroleum fuels to be used in diesel engine. However, the use of BCO in a diesel engine requires modifications due to low energy density, high water contents, low acidity, and high viscosity of the BCO. One of the easiest way to adopt BCO to diesel engine without modifications is emulsification of BCO with diesel and bio diesel. In this study, a diesel engine operated with diesel, bio diesel (BD), BCO/diesel, BCO/bio diesel emulsions was experimentally investigated. Performance and gaseous & particle emission characteristics of a diesel engine fuelled by BCO emulsions were examined. Results showed that stable engine operation was possible with emulsions and engine output power was comparable to diesel and bio diesel operation. However, in case of BCO/diesel emulsion operation, THC & CO emissions were increased due to the increased ignition delay and poor spray atomization and NOx & Soot were decreased due to the water and oxygen in the fuel. Long term validation of adopting BCO in diesel engine is still needed because the oil is acid, with consequent problems of corrosion and clogging especially in the injection system.
