  • 본 논문에서는 IMT2000(FPLMTS)의 CAI(common air interface)의 방식으로 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 CDMA방식에 대해서 가장 핵심이 되는 초기동기성능 분석을 Rician fading channel에서 수행하였다. false alarm probability, detection probability, test PN chip의 적 분구간을 변수로하여 double dwell방식에서 초기적분 구간길이에 대한 평균 최소동기획득 시간 및 신호검출 엄계값에 대한 평균 최소동기획득 시간을 분석한 결과에서 신호판정 임계치가 커짐에 따라 동기획득 소요시간은 그다지 증가하지 않음을 알 수 있다.

  • In the analysis of massive volume data, a neural network model is a useful tool. To implement the Neural network model, it is important to select initial value. Since the initial values are generally used as random value in the neural network, the convergent performance and the prediction rate of model are not stable. To overcome the drawback a possible method use samples randomly selected from the whole data set. That is, coefficients estimated by logistic regression based on the samples are the initial values.

  • The purpose of the initial alignment of a SDINS is to get a coordinate transformation matrix from the body frame to the navigation frame. The initial alignment is one of the most important processes in the navigation system since its error has a large influence on the navigation solution. In this paper, a real-time initial alignment algorithm for the SDINS is developed using the Kalman filter. The steady state error analysis is performed for the developed Kalman filter technique and the gyrocompass loop method. The performance of the developed alignment method is compared with the gyrocompass loop method through the real-time alignment experiments.

  • Initial alignment and localization are important topics in inertial navigation systems, since misalignment and initial position error wholly propagate into the navigation systems and deteriorate the performance of the systems. This paper presents the error convergence characteristics of the hybrid navigation system for underwater vehicles initial position, which is based on an inertial measurement unit (IMU) accompanying a range sensor. This paper demonstrates the improvement on the navigational performance oj the hybrid system with the range information, especially focused on the convergence of the estimation of underwater vehicles initial position error. Simulations are performed with experimental data obtained from a rotating ann test with a fish model. The convergence speed and condition of the initial error removal for random initial position errors are examined with Monte Carlo simulation. In addition, numerical simulation is conducted with an AUV model in lawn-mowing survey mode to illustrate the error convergence of the hybrid navigation System for initial position error.

재교육으로서 비디오를 이용한 피드백이 임상수행평가 성적에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Remedial Precepted Video Review on Clinical Performance Examination Scores)

  • Purpose: Precepted video review (PVR) has been considered one of the methods for the remediation of clinical performance examinations (CPX). This study quantified the effect of brief PVR on CPX scores. Methods: For two years, final-year students (61 students in the 1st year's cohort and 54 in the 2nd year's cohort) participated in CPXs. The scores on the initial CPX were announced to the students shortly after that CPX administration. There was no PVR after the initial CPX in the 1st year. All participants of the 2nd year were notified of the opportunity to voluntarily receive brief PVR after the initial CPX. Several months after the initial CPX, the students took the latter CPX in both years. The differences of scores between initial and latter CPX were compared in good performers and poor performers of the initial CPX. Results: Thirteen poor performers and 8 good performers received PVR in the 2nd year. In the 1st year, history taking (Hx), physical examination, and patient physician interaction (PPI) scores of the good performers of the initial CPX were significantly decreased on the latter CPX. In the 2nd year, the Hx and PPI scores of the good performers of the initial CPX, who received PVR, were significantly decreased at the latter CPX. The Hx and PPI scores of the poor performers of the initial CPX were significantly increased at the latter CPX in both years regardless of PVR. Conclusion: The changes in CPX scores according to PVR did not show any consistent trend. Brief PVR appears to be not sufficient for improving CPX scores.

시간 동기 블록을 적용한 비동기 W-CDMA용 초기 셀 탐색 방법의 성능 분석 (Performance Evaluation of Initial Cell Search Scheme Using Time Tracker for W-CDMA)

  • 비동기 W-CDMA를 위한 셀 탐색 방법은 슬롯 동기 과정(stage 1), 그룹 확인 및 프레임 동기 과정(stage 2), 긴 코드 동기 과정(stage 3)으로 구성되어있다. 특히 이동국에 전력이 처음 들어왔을 때 수행되는 셀 탐색을 초기 셀 탐색이라 한다. 초기 셀 탐색에서는 이동국의 초기 주파수 오차와 시간 오차에 의해 성능이 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 동기 오류 중 초기에 클럭 발생기에 의해 유발되는 시간 오차를 보상해주기 위해 시간 동기 블록을 적용한 초기 셀 탐색 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방식에서는 시간 동기 블록이 슬롯 동기 과정에서 할당된 슬롯 시작점을 기준으로 동기 추적 과정을 수행하므로 stage 2와 stage 3에서의 시간 오차를 보상하게 된다. 제안된 초기 셀 탐색 방법을 사용할 경우, 시스템의 시간 오차가 ${\pm}T_c$/2일 때, 기존 방식보다 최대 1.5dB의 성능 향상을 얻을 수 있었다.

연구개발 분야에서 성과관리제도의 도입현황 분석 (Performance Management in the R&D Sector)

  • This paper aims to review and analyse the introduction process of performance management system(PMS) in the R&D sector. It also examines initial problems and future policy directions of the new system. Theory part deals with various approaches to the PMS and the relation between research evaluation and performance management. The paper then describes how the PMS has been introduced in the National R&D Program by the MOST in terms of the contents of strategic goal, performance goal and performance indicator together with their development process. After this, it captures problems arising in the initial phase and then suggests how they should be solved on the ministerial and cross-ministerial level. Discussed are following topics: lack of strategic planning, grouping of heterogeneous sub-programs, duplication between the OMS and other existing research or performance evaluation. The paper finally suggests policy implications using the logic model which has been developed in a series of recent international conferences.

선박의 성능 요소 추정을 위한 신경망의 실용화 연구 (Practical Application of Neural Networks for Prediction of Ship's Performance Factors)

  • In the initial ship design stage, performance predictions are generally carried out before and after the hull form design. The former is based on the main dimensions and power information, and the latter is based on the geometry of the hull form and propeller. This paper deals with the practical application of neural networks for the prediction of a ship's performance factors before and after the hull form design. For this, the hull form parameters that affect the performance are studied, and an optimal neural network structure based on the SSMB database is constructed. By comparing the results predicted by neural networks and the model test results, we confirmed that neural networks can be applied to practically evaluate the performance in the initial ship design stage.

프리엠블 확장 사용 기반 MB-OFDM UWB용 채널 추정 방식 (A Initial Channel Estimation Method Based on Extensive Preamble Utilization in MB-OFDM UWB System)

  • 본 논문은 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템용 초기 채널 추정의 성능을 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. 초기 채널 추정의 성능은 채널 추정에 활용되는 프리엠블 심볼의 수가 커짐에 따라 증가된다. MB-OFDM UWB 표준안은 프리엠블 형식에서 부대역 당 2개의 채널 추정용 심볼 (CE symbol : channel estimation symbol)을 제시한다. 2 개 심볼에 기반한 채널 추정의 성능은 각각 200 Mbps와 480 Mbps 전송율에 대한 -77.5 dBm과 -72.5 dBm의 상당적으로 높은 수신 감도에서는 만족될 수 있지만, 55 Mbps와 110 Mbps 전송율에 대한 수신 감도 -83.5 dBm과 -80.5 dBm에서 채널 추정 성능은 저하될 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 초기 채널 추정 영역을 기존 2개의 채널 추정용 심볼을 포함하여 패킷 동기 심볼 (PS symbol : packet synchronization symbol)과 프레임 동기 심볼 (FS symbol : frame synchronization symbol)로 확장함으로써 성능 향상을 얻을 수 있는 방법이다. 이 방법은 저하된 SBR에서 초기 채널 추정 성능을 향상시키고 물리 계층 헤더 (physical-layer header)에서의 오류율를 감소시킬 수 있다. 그러므로, 제안한 방법에 기반한 링크 마진의 증가는 통신 처리량을 증가시키는 효과가 있다. 초기 채널 추정에 대해 제안된 방법에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과, 단지 2개의 CE 심볼만을 사용했을 때보다 CE 심볼 포함 1 개의 심볼을 확장한 4 개 심볼 기반의 초기 채널 추정 방식의 성능이 $10^{-4}$ BER에서 약 0.7 dB 만큼 향상된 성능을 가진다.

Sensitivity to Phrase-initial Tone and Laryngeal Feature Identification of Foreign Learners of Korean

  • This paper reports on an identification test where KFL learners identified the Korean three-way laryngeal contrast in the phrase-initial position, when the phrase-initial tone was systematically manipulated. It turns out that heritage learners have some sensitivity to phrase-initial tone and show a plain-aspirated alternation in their identification according to the phrase-initial tone, as native speakers do, whereas non-heritage students do not show such tone sensitivity. However, after a weekly prosody training, second-year non-heritage students have shown a significant improvement in their performance. This paper clearly shows that the phrase-initial tone plays a critical role in distinguishing laryngeal features of Korean obstruents, and also suggests that prosody including the tone-segment correlation should be incorporated in the KFL curriculum.
