  • It is very important to accurately predict construction costs in the early stages of the construction project. However, it is difficult to accurately predict construction costs with limited information from the initial stage. In recent years, with the development of machine learning technology, it has become possible to predict construction costs more accurately than before only with schematic construction characteristics. Based on machine learning technology, this study aims to analyze plans to more accurately predict construction costs by using only the factors influencing construction costs. To the end of this study, the effect of the error rate according to the activation function and the node configuration of the hidden layer was analyzed.

  • The report of the Korean Board of Audit and Inspection(BAI) on May 2007 indicates the problems of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis and evaluation in the Design-Build(Turn-Key) and alternative bidding system. The point which the report indicates is that the cost estimation system for LCC analysis has nothing in common each other and there's no consistency among the repair cycle and ratio per facilities parts. For solving these problems, BAI demands the establishment of the guidelines for LCC analysis and evaluation from the competent authority Korean Ministry of Construction And Transportation(MOCT). The objective of this study is to develop the improvement directions for LCC analysis and evaluation which are suitable to the public construction projects especially for the Design-Build and alternative bidding system in Korea. For this study, the LCC related raws and regulations, LCC analysis guidelines of public cooperations, actual condition of LCC analysis and evaluation which include, the elements of LCC, the estimation rules of the initial cost and the maintenance cost, the analysis standards of time value of money, etc. are investigated to provide the improvement directions for LCC analysis and evaluation.

  • During the design phase of a product, reliability and design engineers are called upon to evaluate the reliability of the system, The question of how to meet target reliability for the system arises when estimated reliability or cost is inadequate. This then becomes a problem of reliability allocation and system structure design. This study proposes the optimization methodology to achieve target reliability with minimum cost through construction of the cost function of system. In cost function, total cost means the sum of initial cost, repair cost and maintenance cost. This study constructs optimization problem about system structure design and reliability allocation using cost function. This problem constructed is solved by Multi-island Genetic Algorithm(MIGA), and applies to urban transit brake system. Current brake system of the urban transit is series system. Series system is the simplest and perhaps one of the most common system, but it demands high reliability and maintenance cost because all components must be operating to ensure system operation. Thus this study makes a comparative study by applying k-out-of-n system to brake system. This methodology presented can be a great tool for aiding reliability and design engineers in their decision-makings.

  • A nuclear power plant requires a huge amount of initial investment and long construction lead time. As we expect that there may exist a relationship between investment and construction lead time, a number of researchers have reported that nearly a half of investments is incurred due to time factors such as the time value of money and inflation or escalation rates. Therefore, we investigated in this paper a relationship between the initial investment and the construction lead time of a nuclear power plant construction, and proposed a method for a trade-off analysis between the annual equivalent worth and the investment alternatives to reduce the construction lead time. Finally, we presented a real case to numerically explain the steps of the method presented in this paper.

  • 국내 건설업계는 자체 엔지니어링 기술 확보 및 높은 수준의 건설사업 관리기술의 보유와 더불어 사업초기 단계에서 해당 프로젝트의 경제적 타당성 평가를 수행할 수 있는 능력이 절실히 요구되어진다. 시설물의 설계 및 시공 기술은 최근의 국제 시장에서 수주를 위해서는 반드시 필요한 부분이며 수익을 창출할 수 있는 사업수행을 위해서는 사업초기단계부터 사후유지관리까지의 연속적인 건설사업 관리기술이 요구되어진다. 건설사업 관리기술은 프로젝트 시작단계에서부터 운영 유지관리 단계까지 단계별로 발생하는 비용에 대해 얼마나 경제적이고 효율적으로 관리하느냐에 따라 프로젝트의 성공여부를 결정짓는 역할을 한다. 이러한 단계별 비용항목의 체계적인 분석을 위해 본 연구에서는 국내 하수처리장을 대상으로 프로젝트 전반에 걸친 비용흐름 및 요소를 조사하였다. 특히 국내 하수처리시설의 유지관리비 DB를 조사하여 데이터 모델링을 수행하였고, 실적 DB의 불확실성을 고려하여 불확실성 해소를 위해 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션 방법을 이용하여 타당성 평가를 위한 평가 목적별(처리공법, 운영 주체 등) 유지관리비 예측 추세선을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • As the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases, the reduction of CO2 is gaining worldwide attention. In the construction industry, cement replacement materials such as fly ash and blast furnace slag were investigated to reduce CO2 emissions in cement production process. Precast concrete is used in the field after manufacturing in the factory in the form of pipes and bricks because of shortening construction period and cutting construction cost. According to the results of previous research, it is known that early CO2 curing in concrete using OPC or fly ash has an initial strength enhancement effect and can be used for precast concrete production. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the strength improvement effect by confirming the initial strength improvement effect when blast furnace slag is mixed.

  • The so-called Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis on reinforced concrete bridge can provide useful information for initial design and maintenance plan of the RC bridge. This paper proposes an LCC prediction equation and a sensitivity analysis method for RC bridges. An LCC equation for the RC bridge which includes initial investment cost, maintenance cost, and demolition cost was derived and verified from the data for design and construction of an RC slab bridge. In order to solve uncertainty problem on actual discount rate and material characteristics in the analysis of LCC of concrete bridges, a sensitivity analysis method on the LCC using the Monte Carlo simulation technique was suggested.

  • In January 2005, the BTL private investment project was introduced in the Korean construction market as part of the plan to provide high-quality public service and expand the required facilities in a timely manner. Nonetheless, problems such as the low earning rate at the beginning of the business, burden of service compared to the cost of the proposed business, and limitations of the local small and medium-sized companies in relation to their participation in the project arose. The LCC analysis system for the BTL projects was developed as part of efforts toward efficiently investigating the investment eligibility. Specifically, methods for LCC analysis were selected for each stage of the BTL project in relation to the requests of experts for military residential facilities and public educational facilities. Variables were then extracted to derive an accurate analysis value, LCC for the 5 cost items (initial investment cost, operating expenses, maintenance expenses, energy cost, and disposal cost), analyzed, and system enabling comparative analysis for single and multiple initiatives by year and item, developed. Thus, we have to clearly require the accumulation of data to examine the appropriateness of the results of LCC analysis based on data and results.

초고층 건축공사를 위한 유로-유닛 테이블폼 공법 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구 (Development and Application of Unit Table Form using Euro Form for High-rise Building Construction)

  • In today's construction, there has been an increase in the construction of high-rise buildings due to the need to maximize land usage. Framework affects not only the entire construction duration and cost, but also subsequency construction activities such as electrical, mechanical, and finishing works. Especially, proper formwork is a influential factor of productivity in the framwork of reinforced concrete construction. To that reason, a table form of system form is more frequently used than conventional form. However, an initial cost of the table form is high and a reused table form needs for workers to repair damaged table forms. Therefore, the goal of this study is to introduce euro-unit table form. The results from the application of euro-unit table form to high-rise residentia building construction are as follows : (1) The cost of producing table form reduced by 16%, and (2) The time of producing table form was slumped by 35%, and (3) The labor force needed for form work declined 21%.

건축물 리모델링 사례 분석을 통한 경제성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Economic Assessment Through Case Study of Remodeling)

  • This research is aiming to specify the requirement of the investment such as intial cost, running cost earning rate to make effective investment considering the purpose of remodeling and economical value of store building enough to meet the initial purpose of remodeling. The review of earning for economical evaluation was performed by the on-site auditing on the structure and function of the building and applying the assessment simulation program, which is to find the possible business model to identify the requirement of building owner through case study. After the research, the following results are obtained. First, it is important that many aspects should be carefully analysis and the best method should be selected as characteristics of remodeling can be defer each other in their implementations. Second, though the remodeling of exist building to promote the functions has been applied, no suitable assessment tool has bee developed for deciding the level of remodeling in the view of economical efficiency so far. Third, the economical benefit was evaluated by analysing annual earning rate which is applied by investment items and recovery period for the investment. More specific date base should be established to apply the suggested economic acessments in business enough ti forecast the future circumstances. More researches should be promoted on the area continuously as well as the integrated economic evaluation of remodeling on existing building.
