The paper will give an overview of the mission of GalTeC and then concentrate on two main aspects. The first more detailed aspect, is the analysis of the key performance parameters for the Galileo system services and presenting a technical overview of methods and algorithms used. The second more detailed aspect, is the service volume prediction including service dimensioning using the Prediction tool. In order to monitor and validate the Galileo SIS performance for Open Service (OS) and Safety Of Life services (SOL) regarding the key performance parameters, different analyses in the SIS domain and User domain are considered. In the SIS domain, the validation of Signal-in-Space Accuracy SISA and Signal-in-Space Monitoring Accuracy SISMA is performed. For this purpose first of all an independent OD&TS and Integrity determination and processing software is developed to generate the key reference performance parameters named as SISRE (Signal In Space Reference Errors) and related over-bounding statistical information SISRA (Signal In Space Reference Accuracy) based on raw measurements from independent sites (e.g. IGS), Galileo Ground Sensor Stations (GSS) or an own regional monitoring network. Secondly, the differences of orbits and satellite clock corrections between Galileo broadcast ephemeris and the precise reference ephemeris generated by GalTeC will also be compared to check the SIS accuracy. Thirdly, in the user domain, SIS based navigation solution PVT on reference sites using Galileo broadcast ephemeris and the precise ephemeris generated by GalTeC are also used to check key performance parameters. In order to demonstrate the GalTeC performance and the methods mentioned above, the paper presents an initial test result using GPS raw data and GPS broadcast ephemeris. In the tests, some Galileo typical performance parameters are used for GPS system. For example, the maximum URA for one day for one GPS satellite from GPS broadcast ephemeris is used as substitution of SISA to check GPS ephemeris accuracy. Using GalTeC OD&TS and GPS raw data from IGS reference sites, a 10 cm-level of precise orbit determination can be reached. Based on these precise GPS orbits from GalTeC, monitoring and validation of GPS performance can be achieved with a high confidence level. It can be concluded that one of the GalTeC missions is to provide the capability to assess Galileo and general GNSS performance and prediction methods based on a regional and global monitoring networks. Some capability, of which first results are shown in the paper, will be demonstrated further during the planned Galileo IOV phase, the Full Galileo constellation phase and for the different services particularly the Open Services and the Safety Of Life services based on the Galileo Integrity concept.

This study was conducted to describe clinical presentation of pelvic fracture and compare clinical outcomes of each part of pelvic fractures in 54 client-owned dogs. There was an average of 3.61 pelvic fractures per dog and 47 dogs had more than two fractures. The average time until initial weight-bearing on the affected leg, hospitalization after surgery, and lameness score at final check in 31 dogs that underwent surgery were 7.04 days, 16.39 days, and 1.25, respectively, and there were no significant difference in the incidence of sacroiliac luxation, iliac fracture, and acetabular fracture among them. The length of hospitalization and the lameness score upon final check of the dogs with over two surgically repaired sites were significantly longer and higher than those of the dogs with one surgically repaired site (P = .043 and P = .008, respectively). Upon final check of the dogs with bilateral pelvic fracture that was surgically treated, the hospitalization and lameness score were significantly longer and higher than those of dogs with unilateral pelvic fracture that was surgically treated (P = .034 and P = .033), respectively. The number of pelvic fractures treated surgically appears to be a more influential factor influencing recovery from pelvic fractures than the location of the pelvic fractures.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the position of mandibular condyle on the submentovertex radiograph, thereafter to evaluate the usefulness of submentovertex radiograph in diagnosis of temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and to check the best method of tomographic techniques. Submentovertex radiographs which were taken in 75 temporomandibular joint dysfunction patients and 75 normal persons were used as the sample for this study. The obtained results were as follows: The submentovertex radiograph was a improper method in diagnosis of temporomandibular joint dysfunction and discrimination of affected side. The selective tomography was a better method than any other tomographic techniques in diagnosis of temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
A number of atomization and droplet breakup models have been developed and used to predict the diesel spray characteristics. Of the many atomization and droplet breakup models based on the breakup mechanism due to aerodynamic liquid and gas interaction, four models classified as mathematical models, such as TAB, modified TAB, DDB, WB and one of the hybrid model based on WB and TAB models were selected for the assessment of prediction ability of diesel spray dynamics. The assessment of these models by using KIVA-II code was performed by comparing with the experimental data of spray tip penetration and sauter mean diameter(SMD) from the literature. It is found that the prediction of spray tip penetration and SMD by the hybrid model was only influenced by the initial parcel number. All the atomization and droplet breakup models considered here was strongly dependent on the grid resolution. Therefore it is important to check the grid resolution to get an acceptable results in selecting the models. At low injection pressure, modified TAB model could only give the good agreement with experimental data of spray tip penetration and both of modified TAB and DDB models were recommendable for the prediction of SMD. At high injection pressure, hybrid model could only give the good agreement with the experimental data of spray tip penetration and the prediction of all of the selected models did not match the experimental data. Spray tip penetration was increased with the increase the $B_1$ and the increase of $B_1$ did not affected the prediction of SMD.
In this paper, we proposed an algorithm that used a direct method to set an initial value of Broydon-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno(BFGS) method and, accordingly, conducted an experiment in optimal directivity synthesis of adaptive ultrasonic transducer by point source array. To certify the efficiency of this method, quasi-ideal beam with arbitrary beam width, rotating beam, and multi beam, all with the limited side lobe level -30dB, were chosen to check the problem of directivity synthesis that was formed by point source array in the second dimensional sound field. The numerical calculation results showed that the proposed method performed the directivity synthesis faster than the BFGS method did. In addition, the proposed method showed a good error correction for directivity synthesis, and did not demand the choice of initial value. Finally, it is also shown that the proposed method can be used for the adaptive control that was not possible with the direct method alone.
This study was conducted to check the applicability of pilot-scale co-composting for the remediation of diesel contaminated soil during the winter. Nutrients and microbes were added to enhance the efficiency of bioremediation and fermenting composts were also added to stimulate the microbial activities. As a result. the soil pile was kept at adequate temperature for the bioremediation during the test period of 30∼40 days and initial concentration(2,340mg TPH/kg dry soil) was reduced to 216mg TPH/kg dry soil (approximately 91% removal). During the initial 10∼30 days, it was found that the TPH concentration and the microbial population were rapidly reduced and increased. respectively. The co-composting technology studied can be effectively applied to remediate the diesel contaminated soil during the winter.
The Three Mile Island Unit 2 (TMI-2) accident provides unique full scale data, thus providing opportunities to check the capability of codes to model overall plant behavior and to perform a spectrum of sensitivity and uncertainty calculations. As part of the TMI-2 analysis benchmark exercise sponsored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD NEA), several member countries are continuing to improve their system analysis codes using the TMI-2 data. The Republic of Korea joined this benchmark exercise in November 2005. Seoul National University has analyzed the TMI-2 accident as well as the currently proposed alternative scenario along with a sensitivity study using the Modular Accident Analysis Program Version 4.03 (MAAP4.03) code in collaboration with the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company. Two input files are required to simulate the TMI-2 accident with MAAP4: the parameter file and an input deck. The user inputs various parameters, such as volumes or masses, for each component. The parameter file contains the information on TMI-2 relevant to the plant geometry, system performance, controls, and initial conditions used to perform these benchmark calculations. The input deck defines the operator actions and boundary conditions during the course of the accident. The TMI-2 accident analysis provided good estimates of the accident output data compared with the OECD TMI-2 standard reference. The alternative scenario has proposed the initial event as a loss of main feed water and a small break on the hot leg. Analysis is in progress along with a sensitivity study concerning the break size and elevation.
The control efficiency of the nematicides, aldicarb and carbofuran, in the population dynamics of the soybean cyst nematode(Heterodera glycines)was evaluated. Nematode viability, penetration and reproduction were examined in greenhouse experiments. Nematode viability(movement) was greatly reduced by aldicard, but mot by carbofuran. Penetration was inhibited by both chemicals. Percentages of Pentration relative to the untreated check 3 days after treatment were 0.4% and 1.7% for aldicarb and carbofuran, respectively. Systemic effect ot the nematicides were observed with both nematicides but effect was greater with aldicarb than with carbofuran. The total effect of the nematicides, applied ay the time of planting soybean in infested soil, appeared to be less than the sum of the contact and systemic effects on the initial population dynamics of H. glycines.
Purpose: A number of techniques and materials have been used for periodontal regeneration and bone graft procedures with guided tissue regeneration(GTR) have been suggested as alternatives to osseous surgery in the management of local infra-bony defects. However, the long-term stability and treatment outcome following bone graft procedure of infra-bony defects is poorly documented. The purpose of this study was to assess radiographic change in infra-bony defects over 2 years after bone graft procedures with various graft materials. Material and Methods: Patients attending the department of periodontics of Kyungpook National University Hospital were studied. Patients showed clinical and radiographic evidence of infra-bony defect(s). 44 sites of 34 patients aged 31 to 69 (mean age 48.3) were treated by bone graft procedure with a bone graft material. Baseline and 2-year follow-up radiographs were collected and evaluated for this study. Radiographic assessment includes a bone fill, bone crest change, defect resolution, and % of defect resolution. Pre- and post-treatment differences between variables (maxilla and mandible, defect depth, defect angle, bone graft materials) using the paired t-test were examined. Result: We observed $1.15{\pm}1.95\;mm$ of bone fill, $0.40{\pm}1.19\;mm$ of crestal resorption, $1.55{\pm}1.77\;mm$ of defect resolution, and $40{\pm}44%$ of percentage of defect resolution. Deeper initial defect depth, narrower initial defect angle showed significantly greater bone fill, defect resolution, and % of defect resolution. But no significant difference was observed in graft sites and graft materials. Conclusion: If good oral hygiene maintenance and periodic recall check of patients is assured, bone graft procedure using various graft materials is one of the appropriate treatment modality for regenerative therapy of infra-bony defects.
Celiac artery compression is a rare condition in which the celiac artery is compressed by the median arcuate ligament. Case reports of compression after trauma are hard to find. Blunt traumatic pericardium rupture is also a rare condition. We report a single patient who experienced both rare conditions from a single blunt injury. An 18-year-old woman was brought to the trauma center after a fatal motorcycle accident, in which she was a passenger. The driver was found dead. Her vital signs were stable, but she complained of mild abdominal pain, chest wall pain, and severe back pain. There were no definite neurologic deficits. Her initial computed tomography (CT) scan revealed multiple rib fractures, moderate lung contusions with hemothorax, moderate liver injury, and severe lumbar spine fracture and dislocation. She was brought to the angiography room to check for active bleeding in the liver, which was not apparent. However, the guide wire was not able to pass through the celiac trunk. A review of the initial CT revealed kinking of the celiac trunk, which was assumed to be due to altered anatomy of the median arcuate ligament caused by spine fractures. Immediate fixation of the vertebrae was performed. During recovery, her hemothorax remained loculated. Suspecting empyema, thoracotomy was performed at 3 weeks after admission, revealing organized hematoma without pus formation, as well as rupture of the pericardium, which was immediately sutured, and decortication was carried out. Five weeks after admission, she had recovered without complications and was discharged home.
