Hydroforming 공정변수의 영향 (Effect of Process Parameters on Hydroforming)

  • The industrial application of hydroforming has a great potential in saying cost and achieving dimensional accuracy in automotive industry presently. The aim of the following article is to investigate the effect of process parameters on hydroformed part. Firstly, we have to investigate the change of mechanical properties for sheet and pipe material according to various radius/thickness ratio(r/t). The change of mechanical properties affects the yield stress more than the total elongation. Increase of yield stress for pipe has a bad influence on formability of hydroforming. Among the roll-forming process, the sizing process didn't change mechanical properties. The process parameters such as the initial pressure, mandrel shape and friction have seriously influenced on formability of hydroforming. Therefore we need to check formability of given material through the FE analysis in the beginning stage of process design and the predicted hydroforming process parameters ate generally a good starting point for the prototype tryout stage. The results of pretending, hydroforming analysis using FE model are good agreement with experimental results.

  • 많은 나라들에서 늘어가는 자동차로 인한 교통체증에 대체 할 수 있는 새로운 교통수단에 대한요구가 증가하고 있다. 또한, 경제적인 성장으로 인한 자동차 보유 대수의 증가로 앞으로 교통체증은 더욱 증가할 것이다. 이를 위해 도로주행형 개인용 항공기(PAV; personal air vehicle)에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로주행형 PAV의 사이징에서 엔진과 익형의 종류에 따른 주요 설계 변수인 익면하중과 동력대중량비를 구하기 위한 사이징을 수행하였다. 즉, 사이징 과정에서 국내 환경과 일반 항공기급 인증기준인 FAR PART 23을 고려한 임무형상에 대하여 익면하중, 동력대중량비, 제동마력, 그리고 연료효율의 그래프를 통해서 설계점을 결정하는 연구도 수행하였다. 사이징 결과 디젤 엔진을 사용하는 경우 가솔린 엔진보다 더 큰 중량으로 인해 더 큰 이륙총중량, 날개 면적, 그리고 더 큰 동력을 요구한다.

제지 재제조 시스템에서의 자원제약을 고려한 로트 크기 결정 및 일정 계획에 대한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Capacitated Lot-sizing and Scheduling in a Paper Remanufacturing System)

  • We consider the capacitated lot-sizing and scheduling problem for a paper remanufacturing system that produces several types of corrugated cardboards. The problem is to determine the lot sizes as well as the sequence of lots for the objective of minimizing the sum of setup and inventory holding costs while satisfying the demand and the machine capacity over a given planning horizon. In particular, the paper remanufacturing system has sequence-dependent setup costs that depend on the type of product just completed and on the product to be processed. Also, the setup state at one period can be carried over to the next period. An integer programming model is presented to describe the problem. Due to the complexity of the problem, we modify the existing two-stage heuristics in which an initial solution is obtained and then it is improved using a multi-pass interchange method. To show the performances of the heuristics, computational experiments were done using the real data, and a significant amount of improvement is reported.

Tip-jet gyroplane 개념설계 기법 개발 및 사이징 (Development of Conceptual Design Methodology and Initial Sizing for Tip-Jet Gyroplane)

  • Tip-jet gyroplane은 제자리 비행 시 tip-jet의 반발력을 이용하여 로터의 회전력을 얻고, 전진 비행 시 오토자이로 형태로 비행하는 복합형 회전익기의 한 종류이다. Tip-jet gyroplane의 적절한 성능해석과 개념 설계 단계의 사이징을 수행하기 위해서는 tip-jet 모드, gyroplane 모드, transient 모드를 모두 고려할 수 있는 설계 및 해석 기법이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이 세 가지 비행 모드 성능해석과 기체 사이징을 수행할 수 있는 코드를 개발하였다. 해석 기법은 tip-jet gyroplane 비행 모드를 이루고 있는 해석 코드 별로 각각 실험값과 비교 검증되었다. 개발된 코드를 이용하여 300km 혹은 400km의 임무 운용반경에서 150knots의 고속 비행을 수행하는 2가지 임무형상에 대해 초기사이징을 수행하였고, 초기 사이징 결과로 설계된 3,000lb 급 tip-jet gyroplane의 형상 및 성능을 분석하였다.

  • This paper is focused on the procedure of the development of a micro air vehicle which has vertical take-off and landing capability for indoor reconnaissance mission. Trade studies on mission feasibility led to the proposal of a coaxial rotorcraft configuration as the platform. The survey to provide a guide for preliminary design were conducted based on commercial off-the-shelf platform, and the rotor performance was estimated by the simple momentum theory. To determine the initial size of the micro air vehicle, the modified conventional fuel balance method was applied to adopt for electric powered vehicle, and the sizing problem was optimized with the sequential quadratic programming method using MATLAB. The designed rotor blades were fabricated with high strength carbon composite material and integrated with the platform. The developed coaxial rotorcraft micro air vehicle shows stable handling quality with manual flight test in indoor situation.

  • The basic factors determining the amount of energy used in hospital buildings are weather conditions and building factors. But the real energy consumer is central plant equipment such as boilers and chillers that produce thermal energy for heating and cooling. Inaccurate decision of the primary equipment's size can cause a high initial-cost, an excessive equipment space, a wasted energy by low operation-efficiency and shortening of the machine's life. In this reason, the decision of optimal size for central plant equipment is very important. There are several factors for the decision such as an operation factor, a factor (equipment factor), piping losses and a simultaneous usage factor applied in the sizing process except a basic cooling load. But there is no standard method for applying those factors. Usually, factors are applied individually by an experience or custom of each engineer. In this study, the authors emphasize the meaning and the problem of those factors, examine them by analyzing factors which were applied to actual practices, and propose the recommendation value of safety, load, operation factors and application methods.

  • This paper considers the design and performance evaluation of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs). The initial design such as the sizing and shape design of the stator and rotor is performed for a given load condition. In particular, the equivalent magnetic circuit (EMC) is employed both to design the mechanical parameters of the rotor while considering nonlinear magnetic saturation effect and to analyze the magnetic characteristics of the air-gap of the motor. The designed motor is manufactured and tested to confirm the validity of the design processes and simulated results.

  • This paper proposes a method to determine the initial shape and size of the suspension beam of an optical pickup actuator subjected to specified dynamic characteristics. For the analysis, a simplified model consisting of a concentrated mass, rotational springs and beams is developed. Based on this model, the key dimensionless design parameters are introduced, which govern low-frequency vibration characteristics i. e., the resonant frequencies in the tracking and focusing directions. A systematic procedure for sizing and shaping the actuator suspension beams is described and applied to a sample case. The effectiveness of the present technique is verified through the comparison of the present and the finite element results.

저온 상태의 원자로 압력용기의 과압방지를 위한 압력방출밸브 용량 결정에 관한 연구 (The Study on Sizing of the Pressure Relief Valve for Overpressure Protection of a Reactor Pressure Vessel in Low Temperature Condition)

  • The purpose of this study is to present a methodology to estimate the capacity of the pressure relief valve which prevents overpressure of the pressure vessel in a cold state. In this methodology, the transient behavior of the flow rate through the pressure relief valve and the pressure inside the pressure vessel are considered. The result of this study shows the followings; The more the relief valve capacity is considered in excess, the more the initial relief flow rate and the initial pressure inside the pressure vessel are high and low respectively. When the relief valve capacity is determined properly, the pressure inside the pressure vessel maintains almost the same value, so the ASME code requirement will be met.

Conceptual Design of a Ducted Fan for Helicopter Anti-Torque System

  • Ducted fans have advantages in noise as well as operational safety aspects compared to conventional tail rotors and are used as an anti-torque system for various classes of helicopters. The final goal of this study is to develop a ducted fan anti-torque system which can replace conventional tail rotors of existing helicopters to achieve safety enhancement and low noise level. In this paper, a conceptual design process and the results are described. Initially, the design requirement and the design parameter characteristics are analysed, and then initial sizing and configuration design are performed. There are several configuration changes due to specific technical reasons in each case. Finally, the required power and the pitch link load are predicted as an initial estimation. The conceptual design technique for the ducted fan in this study can be easily applied to the design of other ducted fans such as the lift fan for unmanned aerial vehicle.
