Despite their potential value, the mobile Internet services in the domestic market have not been widely accepted as industry experts have expected. To understand why, this study uses the TAM, Technology Acceptance Model, and explores the factors affecting the usage behavior of the end-users. Based on statistical analysis of survey data, we show that social influence and perceived ease of use affect perceived usefulness, and that self-efficacy and focus significantly influence perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived usefulness is shown to play a significant role in explaining actual usage of the mobile Internet services. However, contrary to the hypothesized relationships, service quality, focus, and innovativeness of users turn out to have little impact on the traditional endogenous TAM variables such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and actual usage behavior. Based on these results, we attempt to provide managerial implications for the domestic mobile Internet service providers and to suggest future research directions in this domain of research.

This study was intended to find the use patterns of internet search engines of librarians and to measure the relationship between internet use frequency and the use behavior of internet search engines. The results showed that librarians use Web search engines for academic information retrieval and are satisfied with the search results. The major problems when librarians use search engines were that search engines retrieve many non-relevant documents. As a result of hypotheses test, the relationship between internet frequency and the preference of search engines was not significantly different. On the other hand, the hypotheses that internet frequency affects satisfaction of search results, recognition of importance of search engines, and the need of retraining of librarians for internet information retrieval were shown to be significant.

Information behavior played a significant role in minimizing the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic. When faced with such a situation, an individual needs information for decision-making and in order to determine the best course of action relating to their health. This study aims to explore information behavior during each phase of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, which is known for its close-knit collective culture. A sensemaking approach is used, which emphasizes the process individuals go through to understand their situation and give meaning to the information they are getting from their environment. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 10 participants to obtain a description of their information behaviors during the pandemic. Data analysis was carried out using open, axial, and selective coding. We propose a sensemaking-based information behavior strategy framework for mitigating risk and reducing ongoing health crises. Changes in information behavior strategies, including search, prevention, and restriction of information exposure, were random at the beginning of the pandemic, but became more regular in later phases. This was influenced by the "knowledge gap fulfillment" and "use of local knowledge" among the participants throughout the pandemic. In conclusion, the participants developed a sensemaking process including an understanding of the pandemic situation and the risks that they faced. They used a number of information behavior strategies to prevent transmission, and their perception of the risks changed across the course of the pandemic, up til the situation began to be considered back to normal again in Indonesia.
It has been argued that Enterprise systems (ES) implementations are overshadowed by a high failure rate despite their promised benefits. One of the commonly cited reasons for ES implementation failures in the context of mandatory use is end-user's unwillingness or sabotage to adopt or use systems. Considering that the appropriate management of expectations may play an important role in making positive behavior toward newly implemented systems, this study examines the effect of outcome expectations on the system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems from the Social Cognitive Theory perspective. Structural equation model analysis using LISREL 8.7 provides significant support for the proposed relationships. The empirical results suggest that outcome expectations and user satisfaction have positive effects on system use activity conceptualized by immersion, reinvention, and learning. Theoretical and practical implications of the study shed some light on how to improve system use activity in the mandatory use context of information systems.

This research begins from the recognition that the Korean library OPACs have failed in reflecting the information needs of children, and especially the behavioral aspects of digital kids. Maintaining such problem recognition, this research examines the weak points and limits of Korean OPACs for digital kids, and explores the possible solutions. In details, identified at the first hand is digital kids' library use behavior, in particular, their search behavior of library OPACs. Also discussed is on the development of a new generation OPAC for digital kids. The data were collected from a survey with 545 elementary school students, in-depth interviews with 8 carefully selected students among the survey participants, and a direct observation on the children's information search process in 6 libraries.
In the new web based learning environment which has recently emerged, a variety of new learning objectives and teaching methods suited to this learning environment have been adopted. Recently, web based project-based learning methods have received a great deal of attention from those wishing to improve learning performance. The objective of this study is to identify the impact of characteristics of communication media and instruction behavior on collaborative interaction and project performance through web based group projects. The characteristics of communication media were divided into richness, flexibility, and ease of use, and the characteristics of instruction behavior were divided into support and expression, which are independent variables. Collaborative interaction as a mediate variable, was divided into information sharing and negotiation. Project performance was the dependent variable. To verify the proposed research model empirically, an experiment was conducted in which learners participated in on-line and off-line courses with group projects. The group project was conducted virtual product development(VPD), and designed a web-site about the VPD. At the end of the project, a survey was conducted. Of the 270 students, 239 responded. The students were assigned to groups of 3 or 4 members, and represented different genders and levels of computer competence. The reliability, validity, and correlation of research variables were analyzed using SPSS 14.0, and the measurement model and the structural goodness-of-fit of the research model were verified through SEM analysis using Lisrel 8.54. We found important results as follows; First, richness and ease of use has positive impacts on each of sharing information and negotiation. This suggests that richness and ease of use are useful in sharing information which is related to the task and agreeing in opinions among group members. However, flexibility has not positive impacts on sharing information and negotiation. This implies that there is no great difference in performance of PC and information literacy of user. Second, support and expression of instructor have positive impacts on sharing information and negotiation. This indicates that instructors play an important role in encouraging learners to participate in the project and communicating with them, sharing information related to the project, making a resonable decision and finally leading them to improve a project performance. Third, collaborative interaction has a positive impact on project performance. This result shows that if the ability to share information and negotiate among students was improved then a project performance would be improved as well. Recently, in the state of revitalized web based learning, it is opportune that web-based group project is practically conducted, and the impact of characteristics of communication media and characteristics of instruction behavior on sharing information, negotiating among group members and improving a project performance is verified. On the basis of these results, we propose that forms of learning, such as web based project, could be one of solution which is to enforce interaction among learners, and ultimately improve learning performance. Moreover web-based group project is able to make up for a weakness which makes it difficult to make interpersonal relations or friendship among learners in computer mediated communication or web based learning.
The purpose of this study was to examine elderly using behavior and propinquity of neighborhood facilities and to analyze the relationship of propinquity and using behavior of each neighborhood facility. The results of the study indicated that the elderly are using more frequently and living more close to leisure facility such as sports/health facility, hobby/education facility, and entertainment facility. Age and health status of the elderly were the important factors on the use and propinquity of neighborhood facilities. On the other hand, the elderly having higher education and economic status were more likely to use and live close to leisure facilities. For the elderly, the need of physical propinquity to neighborhood facilities and providing information about the facility location were required. For the mid-aged people, the education about leisure culture of the later-hood years were suggested since the use of neighborhood facility is depending on one's habit.

In recent years welfare of animals is the biggest challenge because animals, especially dogs are widely recognized as pet as well as they are using as service animals. So, for the wellbeing of the dog it is necessary to perform objective assessment to track their behavior in everyday life. In this paper, we have proposed an automatic behavior assessment system for dogs based on a neck worn and tail worn accelerometer and gyroscope platform, and data analysis techniques that recognize typical dog activities. We evaluate the system based on the analysis of 8 behavior traits in 3 dogs, incorporating 2 breeds of various sizes. Our proposed framework able to reproduce the manual assessment that is based on the video recording which is treated as gold standard that exhibits the real-life use case of automated dog behavior analysis.
Purpose: The digital healthcare business is rapidly growing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the medical service platform business based on smartphone apps is globally expanding. This study targeted medical information online to offline (O2O) platform users in the medical service field. It verified the effect relationship revealed in the continuous use intention of the platform with the mediation of platform quality components, namely perceived benefits, flow experience, and use satisfaction. Research design, data and methodology: Based on previous studies, three medical information O2O platform quality components, namely system quality, information quality, and service quality, were defined. And the questionnaire survey was carried out targeting 359 leading medical information O2O platform users in Korea. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that system quality and service quality had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction and continuous use intention with the mediation of perceived benefits and flow experience. Meanwhile, information quality had a negative effect (-) on perceived benefits and flow experience and did not affect use satisfaction and continuous use intention. Conclusions: Consequently, it was ascertained that the system quality and service quality affecting user behavior and experience were more significant factors than information quality to medical information O2O platform users from the medical service aspect.
