Background: Breast cancer is the most frequent type of cancer among women in the world and the most common cause of deaths from cancer in females. In Turkey, breast cancer comes first in the list of the most frequent ten cancer types seen in women. As the incidence rate of breast cancer is high, many women having breast cancer in the family experience the breast cancer at secondhand. This study was carried out in an attempt to determine the information and support needs of women whose first-degree relatives have breast cancer and to what extent these needs are met. Methods: The research sample consisted of 156 women. Questionnaire Form and Information and Support Needs Questionnaires were used as the data collection tools. Results: Information need score averages ($x^-:3.72{\pm}0.19$) of women included in the research sampling were found to be higher than their score averages of support needs ($x^-:3.24{\pm}0.41$). Conclusion: Information needs which were indicated by women as very important were related to treatment, symptoms of breast cancer and breast self examination (BSE), while support needs which were indicated by women as very important were learning how to perform BSE, women's anxiety for themselves and their relatives regarding breast cancer and having their breasts examined by a health professional. It is recommended that nurses and other medical staff should give information to women whose first-degree relatives have breast cancer about the disease, its etiology, scanning, diagnosis, treatment options and protection as well as prevention.

Information and telecommunication technology are causing revolutionary changes in society and its institutions. It is especially more so in the field of science and technology (S&T). Extraordinary advances in microelectronics have fueled this information revolution, and S&T scholarly communication are changing rapidly and dramatically because of it as are the needs of science and technology information users. To seek pertinent scientific and technical information (STI) is a complex matter in this electronic digitalized age of information environment. Before we meet information needs of scientists and engineers effectively, we must know the Purpose for their seeking the information, the type of information they sought, and what we have been providing to satisfy their needs.(omitted)
This study attempts to explore urban married women's needs for consumer information contents. In addition, the causality of the needs for consummer information contents and related variables is investigated. Major findings are the following: (1) Respondents' need for information on“the product selection”and “the use and management”of the washing maching or hair dryer is high, while the in need for the information on“the existing brands”is very low. (2) Among several relevent characteristics, respondents' product involvement is strongly related to the needs for consumer information contents. (3) The results of the analysis of casual model from washing maching showed that respondents' age, purchasing experience, perception of the price dispersion and quality difference, self confidence in the product evaluation affect on the need for consumer information contents directly. While respondents' income and education level show a indirect effect. (4) The results of the analysis of causal model from hair dryer showed that respondents' perception of the price dispersion, quality difference and product complexity affect on the need for consumer information contents directly. While respondents' age, purchasing experience, self-confidence in the product evaluation show a indirect effects.
Nurses play an important role in patient education, including providing patients with useful and appropriate information. The purpose of this study was to explore what particular types of information were important to women diagnosed with breast cancer. Sixty seven women with breast cancer an outpatient clinic in W Christian Hospital responded to the structured questionnaires developed by the investigator. Interviews and mail surveys were used in this study. The findings in this study showed that six kinds of information needs arose, ranked as the signs and symptoms of recurrence, the possibility of recurrence, the possibility of metastasis, treatment, diet and physical activities in daily living. Marital status, level of education, and level of monthly income were not related to level of informational need. Younger women rather than older women had a greater need to seek information(r=-.471, p<.01). There was a significantly negative relationship between duration of disease and the score on information needs(r=-.32, p<.05). The findings have implications that the opportunity to ask questions and have accurate information on the recurrence should be provided to women with breast cancer.

Agricultural information was discussed for suggesting tasks and solutions of knowledge based information system. States of agricultural information systems in rural development administration were described and problems and tasks were summarized in knowledge needs survey of farmers who have to decide many alternatives for farming. Hard to access information are soil state, disease and insect pest. Important information in agriculture are water, soil fertility, soil physical property, and accessibility from main road. In conclusion, knowledge based agricultural information system can be developed based on surveyed needs.

The number of youth smartphone users has been increasing, and they use smartphone applications to satisfy their various types of information needs. Nevertheless, few researchers have addressed youth information behavior on applications. In this study, the author examined the application use behavior of youth in response to their work- and everyday life- information needs. The author collected 114 completed questionnaires from students enrolled in a middle school and a high school. The survey results show that participants' usage and perception of smartphone applications were high, and they were using information, entertainment, and communication applications to meet their information needs. In particular, their preference for application use differed by the type of information needs. Also, participants were considering cost, easiness, privacy policy, review, information quality, providers, interface design, and recommendation to choose applications. This study confirms the role of smartphone applications as an influential information source, and it also provides useful implications for educators and for application developers.

For this purpose, a survey about importance and retention level of employment competency was administered to 215 students at A college in Chungcheong between December 2 and 6, 2019. The difference between importance and retention level was analyzed through the corresponding sample t-test, and the educational needs was confirmed through the IPA technique. The results of Study were as follows: 'major knowledge capabilities' was found to be in the high priority of educational needs in all students.; male showed high-priority needs for 'information search, foreign language utilization' and female showed high-priority needs for 'information search, setting employment goals'; 'information search' was ranked as priority educational needs in all grades, it was necessary to add 'information search', 'foreign language utilization', 'fill out the necessary documents for job search' for 1 grade and 'Self-understanding', 'foreign language utilization' for 4 grade. Purpose: This study aimed to develop a scale measuring sexuality information needs of patients with cancer. Methods: Nine items of sexuality information needs were based on the PLISSIT model and concepts of sexual rights. A factor analysis using principal axis factoring and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were performed to test validity and reliability. Data were collected from 211 patients with cancer visiting a cancer center in Seoul, Korea. Results: Factor loadings of the 9 items of sub scales ranged from .43 to .96. Three factors in this study explained 74.4% of the total variance. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of the 9 items was .83. Conclusion: The scale of information needs about sexuality showed acceptable construct validity and reliability. This scale would be useful to assess the levels of information needs for sexuality for patients with cancer. The possibility of the scales' expansion to other group could be investigated in future studies.

The purpose of this study is to develop an experimental model for information needs assessment, which could be utilized to investigate the 'real' information needs of the user(or group). The focus was on the perspectives of users rather than those of system managers. In details, this study identifies the conceptual definition of the keyword 'information need', analyzes the limitation and problems the previously conducted needs assessments in this area, and finally, develops an experimental model based on the cognitive and affective variables which might influence both production and strength of information needs in the user(or group}. The model emphasizes four influencing variable, namely, individual, work-related, organizational(or institutional), and socio-cultural variables. Also discussed is the relationships among these variables.
