An Interconnection Model of ISP Networks (ISP 네트워크간 상호접속 모델)

  • For Internet service providers (ISPs), there are three common types of interconnection agreements : private peering, public peering and transit. One of the most important problems for a single ISP is to determine which other ISPs to interconnect with, and under which agreements. The problem can be then to find a set of private peering providers, transit providers and Internet exchanges (IXs) when the following input data are assumed to be given : a set of BGP addresses with traffic demands, and a set of potential service providers (Private peering/transit providers and IXs) with routing information, cost functions and capacities. The objective is to minimize the total interconnection cost. We show that the problem is NP-hard, give a mixed-integer programming model, and propose a heuristic algorithm. Computational experience with a set of test instances shows the remarkable performance of the proposed algorithm of rapidly generating near-optimal solutions.

Unconstrained Object Segmentation Using GrabCut Based on Automatic Generation of Initial Boundary

  • Foreground estimation in object segmentation has been an important issue for last few decades. In this paper we propose a GrabCut based automatic foreground estimation method using block clustering. GrabCut is one of popular algorithms for image segmentation in 2D image. However GrabCut is semi-automatic algorithm. So it requires the user input a rough boundary for foreground and background. Typically, the user draws a rectangle around the object of interest manually. The goal of proposed method is to generate an initial rectangle automatically. In order to create initial rectangle, we use Gabor filter and Saliency map and then we use 4 features (amount of area, variance, amount of class with boundary area, amount of class with saliency map) to categorize foreground and background. From the experimental results, our proposed algorithm can achieve satisfactory accuracy in object segmentation without any prior information by the user.

  • In this paper, a real-time multiview video coding system using fast disparity estimation is proposed. In the multiview encoder, adaptive disparity-motion estimation (DME) for an effective 3-dimensional (3D) processing are proposed. That is, by adaptively predicting the mutual correlation between stereo images in the key-frame using the proposed algorithm, the bandwidth of stereo input images can be compressed to the level of a conventional 2D image and a predicted image also can be effectively reconstructed using a reference image and adaptive disparity vectors. Also, in multiview decoder, intermediate view reconstruction (IVR) using adaptive disparity search algorithm (DSA) for real-time multiview video processing is proposed. The proposed IVR can reduce a processing time of disparity estimation by selecting adaptively disparity search range. Accordingly, the proposed multiview video coding system is able to increase the efficiency of the coding rate and improve the resolution.

  • This paper proposes a pattern classification algorithm for the defect distribution of Hard Disk Drive (HDD). In the HDD productions, the defect pattern of defective HDD set is important information to diagnosis of defective HDD set. In this paper, 5 characteristics are determined for the classification to six standard defect pattern classes. A fuzzy inference system is proposed, the inputs of which are 5 characteristic values and the outputs are the possibilities that the input pattern is classified to the standard patterns. Classification result is the pattern with maximum possibility. The proposed algorithm is implemented with a PC system for defective HDD sets and shows its effectiveness.

  • In order to control the flow of traffics in ATM networks and optimize the usage of network resources, an efficient control mechanism is necessary to cope with congestion and prevent the degradation of network performance caused by congestion. This paper proposes a new UPC(Usage Parameter Control) mechanism that varies the token generation rate and the buffer threshold of leaky bucket by using a Neural Network controller observing input buffers and token pools, thus achieving the improvement of performance. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive algorithm uses of network resources efficiently and satisfies QoS for the various kinds of traffics.

  • Most color imaging devices often exhibit color distortions due to the differences in realizable color gamuts and nonlinear characteristics of their components. In order to minimize color differences, it is desirable to apply color correction techniques. Th efirst step of color correction is to select the subset of the color coordinates representing the input color space. Th eselected subset serves as so called color samples to model the color distortion of a given color imaging device. The effectiveness of color correction is determined by the color sampels utilized in the modeling as well as the applied color correction technique. This paper presents a new selection method for color samples based on gentic algorithm. In the proposed method, structure of strings are designed so that the selected color samples fully represent the characteristics of color imaging device and consist of distinct color coordinates. To evaluate the performance of the selected color samples, they ar etuilized for three different color correction experiments. The experimentsal results are comapred with the crresponding results obtianed with the equally spaced color samples.

  • In this paper, we propose an interacting multiple model (IMM) method using intelligent tracking filter with fuzzy gain to reduce tracking errors for maneuvering targets. In the proposed filter, to exactly estimate for each sub-model, we propose the fuzzy gain based on the relation between the filter residual and its variation. To optimize each fuzzy system, we utilize the genetic algorithm (GA). Finally, the tracking performance of the proposed method is compared with those of the adaptive interacting multiple model (AIMM) method and input estimation (IE) method through computer simulations.

Design of Continuous Variable Structure Tracking Controller With Prescribed Performance for Brushless Direct Drive Drive Servo Motor

  • A continuous, accurate, and robust variable structure tracking controller(CVSTC) is designed for brushless direct drive servo motors(BLDDSM). Although conventional variable structure controls can give the desired tracking performances, there exists an inevitable chattering problems in control input which is undesirable for direct drive systems. With the presented algorithm, not only the chattering problems are removed by using the efficient compensation of the disturbance observer, but also the prescribed tracking trajectory can be obtained using the sliding dynamics when an initial of the desired trajcetory is different from that of a BLDDSM. The design of the sliding mode tracking controller for the prescribed, accurate, and robust tracking performance without the chattering problem is given based on the results of the detailed stability analysis. The usefulness of the suggested algorithm is demonstrated through the computer simulation for a BLDDSM under load variations.

  • In this paper, we designed fuzzy legit controller(FLC) for HVDC current control using genetic algorithm. The proposed method was applied to HVDC power system simulator in Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI). We are adjusted input/output gain of FLC by real-time using genetic algorithm. Experimental results show that FLC has the better control performance than PI controller in terms of settling time, rising time.

  • In this paper, for tracking and filtering seaway information which act as a control disturbance the adaptive notch filter which removes disturbance with fast convergence and stability without changing the value of gain parameter $\mu$ when statistical property of input signal varies rapidly is designed by improving conventional RMXMS(Recursive Maximum Mean Square) algorithm. Besides, in consideration of measurement noise of sensors in underwater vehicle, the system which removes the noise and the disturbance is suggested.
