  • The Web has become an excellent source for gathering consumer opinions. There are now numerous Web sites containing such opinions, e.g., customer reviews of products, forums, discussion groups, and blogs. This paper focuses on online customer reviews of products. It makes some contributions. Especially it proposes minimalism and chunking framework for analyzing and comparing consumer opinions of competing products. Users are able to clearly see the strengths and weaknesses of each product in the minds of consumers in terms of various product features. This comparison is useful to both potential customers and product manufacturers. For a product manufacturer, the comparison enables it to easily gather marketing intelligence and product benchmarking information. In this paper, we only focus on mining opinion/product features that the reviewers have commented on. Five types of online review presentations are presented to mine such features. Our experimental results show that these techniques are useful to identify customers' opinions and trends.

  • Recently, plant construction industries are enjoying a favorable business climate centering around developing countries and oil producing countries rich in oil money. This paper proposes a methodology of implementing case-based reasoning(CBR) system for managing knowledge like lessons learned and various documents accumulated in performing power plant construction projects which are receiving a lot of order from foreign countries such as the Middle East, etc. Our methodology is consisted of 10 steps : user requirement gathering, information modeling, case modeling, case base design, similarity function design, user interface design, case base building, CBR module development, user interface implementation, integration test. Also, to illustrate the effectiveness of proposed methodology, the real CBR system is implemented for the plant business division of 'H' company which has international competitiveness in the field of plant construction industry. At present, the implemented CBR system is successfully utilizing as storing, sharing, and reusing knowledge which is accumulated in performing power plant construction projects in the target enterprise.

  • 초고속 네트웍을 기반으로 지리적으로 분산된 리소스들을 공유하며 강력한 컴퓨팅 파워를 낼 수 있는 그리드 환경에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 그리드 환경을 구축하기 위한 기술중에 어카운팅 정보의 수집에 관해서 기술한다. 특히 클러스터 형태의 시스템에서 OGSA RSU-WG의 GSAX와 Usage Records Working Group(UR-WG)를 기반으로 하여 시스템을 설계하였다. 설계를 바탕으로 각 노드에서 발생하는 어카운팅 정보와 job 수행 정보를 수집하고, 통합하는 모니터링 툴의 구현에 대해 상세히 설명한다.

  • 인터넷과 정보통신기술의 급속적인 발전으로 수천 또는 수억에 달하는 방대하고 다양한 정보들이 웹상에서 존재하게 되었다. 웹상에서 획득가능한 학술정보가 증가함에 따라 다량의 정보를 효율적으로 수집하기 위하여 다양한 웹 로봇기반 수집에이전트를 활용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹에 산재되어 있는 해외학술정보를 체계적이고 주기적으로 수집, 분류하기 위하여 학술지목차DB(QTOC)를 활용한 해외학술정보 수집에이전트 시스템을 설계하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 웹에서 사용자의 취향에 부합하는 정보를 지속적으로 수집하여 추천해주는 지능적인 개인용 웹 정보 수집 에이전트의 구현에 대하여 기술한다. 본 논문에서 구현한 에이전트 시스템은 자바언어로 구현되었으며, 인터넷에서 페이지를 모아오는 수집 단계, HTML 문서 색인 단계, 필터링 단계, 사용자가 모니터링 단계, 학습 단계 등 다섯 단계로 구성되어 있다. 웹 페이지는 기존의 검색 엔진으로부터 수집하도록 하였으며, 사용자의 관심에 부합되는 웹 페이지들을 추천하고, 추천된 페이지들에 대한 사용자의 행동을 모니터링하여 사용자의 취향을 학습함으로써 사용자 프로파일을 재구성한다. 본 웹 에이전트 시스템은 암시적인 피드백에 의한 학습을 수행하고 백그라운드에서 동작함으로써 사용자에게 기존의 검색 작업에 따른 시간과 수고를 덜어 주었다.

  • This study aims to find out the teacher's role in each procedure necessary for math gifted students' independent study so as to help them grow to become more creative experts. The case study targeted 14 gifted students. The result shows that the necessary steps for math gifted students' independent study are as fellowing; introducing the independent study, selecting a topic, asking a question, literature review, choosing a study method, gathering information, analysing information, developing a product, sharing information, evaluating the study, Teachers should teach students necessary skills with plans and take the roles of advisors and facilitators. Especially, for effective independent study, this should be planned and done in a regular program for gifted students; teachers' and parents' interest and encouragement facilitate the students' study process.

  • Logic programming has many advantages as a paradigm for parallel programming because it offers ease of programming while retaining high expressive power due to its declarative semantics. In parallel logic programming, one of the important issues is the compile-time parallelism detection. Static data-dependency analysis has been widely used to gather some information needed for the detection of AND-parallelism. However, the static data-dependency analysis cannot fully detect AND-parallelism because it does not provide some necessary functions such as the propagation of groundness. As an alternative approach, abstract interpretation provides a promising way to deal with AND-parallelism detection, while a full-blown abstract interpretation is not efficient in terms of computation since it inherently employs some complex operations not necessary for gathering the information on AND-parallelism. In this paper, we propose an abstract domain which can provide a precise and efficient way to use the abstract interpretation for the detection of AND-parallelism of logic programs.

  • Concurrent Engineering(CE) can provide a competitive edge for companies that have confronted with rapidly changing market requirements, such as shortening of product life cycles, high quality, low cost, diversity of customer demand, and so on. We construct a prototype of integrated information system to support a new product development process by CE concept. This integrated information system can be useful for considering concurrently all of the aspect in the product design process. In this system, an Engineering Database is constructed for gathering data of four departments; i.e. marketing, production, quality control and design department. Also DFM(Design For Manufacturability) is applied for analysis of product design.

  • The purpose of this study was, as an experimental one, to suggest concrete ways to use computer in fashion design from information collection to design completion, and to present a real example based on the suggested ways. The first step to attain the purpose was gathering various sorts of worldwide fashion design information on the Internet, and then the collected data were inserted in a graphic file. Next, two methods of fashion design that use computer graphics were recommended : one was to produce fashion design just by altering some of the inputted Internet fashion materials, and the other was to do it after selected basic materials were put in database. Those methods could enable one to do fashion design just with rearrangement and smallest change of the prepared basic materials, without drawing directly, and at the same time, they could minimize time and efforts required for computer fashion design.
