GLOBAL STABILITY OF THE VIRAL DYNAMICS WITH CROWLEY-MARTIN FUNCTIONAL RESPONSE

  • It is well known that the mathematical models provide very important information for the research of human immunodeciency virus type. However, the infection rate of almost all mathematical models is linear. The linearity shows the simple interaction between the T-cells and the viral particles. In this paper, a differential equation model of HIV infection of $CD4^+$ T-cells with Crowley-Martin function response is studied. We prove that if the basic reproduction number $R_0$ < 1, the HIV infection is cleared from the T-cell population and the disease dies out; if $R_0$ > 1, the HIV infection persists in the host. We find that the chronic disease steady state is globally asymptotically stable if $R_0$ > 1. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the results.

A Hybrid Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm and a Radial Basic Function Network for Image Classification

  • Foraging is a biological process, where a bacterium moves to search for nutriments, and avoids harmful substances. This paper proposes a hybrid approach integrating the bacterial foraging optimization algorithm (BFOA) in a radial basis function neural network, applied to image classification, in order to improve the classification rate and the objective function value. At the beginning, the proposed approach is presented and described. Then its performance is studied with an accent on the variation of the number of bacteria in the population, the number of reproduction steps, the number of elimination-dispersal steps and the number of chemotactic steps of bacteria. By using various values of BFOA parameters, and after different tests, it is found that the proposed hybrid approach is very robust and efficient for several-image classification.

  • Most of flated scanners and digital cameras in prepress process utilize CCD technology. Device calibration and characterization process is needed to transform the device dependent color to the device independent color. ICC profiles for digital input devices encapsulated information relating the device values to CIELAB or CIEXYZ coordinates. The main purposes of this article is to evaluate some of the transformation methods based on ICC proposed device profiles and to propose optimal color transformation method for accurate color imaging in printing process.

포장 인쇄의 인쇄적성 향상에 관한 연구 (The Study of Quality Control for Package Printing)

  • The quality of the print can be specified through the quality of the coloring, the reproduction of fine structures and the range of tone values. Also, package printed quality are controlled by this points. In this paper, densitometry method was used for printed quality. By densitometry we can get the print density and the parameters of each conditions that characterize halftone printing, such as dot gain and relative printing contrast. Also, we have proposed the optimizes range of the parameters such as density, dot gain etc. to the package printed printability control.

  • In order to technical analysis of the Newspaper printing press, the printability such as, dot gain, contrast and printing density change according to the amount of ink and damping water feeding were experimented. t도 Printability assurance in printing aims at a correct and constant color reproduction throughout the whole print-run. And the checked values were checked from densitometer and colorimeter instead of conventional subjective method. In this research, we could propose the range of driving in printing of domestic Newspaper printing press as well as the limits of ink feed speed and damping water feed speed.

sRGB 표준색공간을 이용한 컬러매니지먼트에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Color Management using sRGB Standard Color Space)

  • The solution way of color difference in display device is using a device profile recorded with color dimension, color properties of each device and is using sRGB color space. The color matching is better sRGB than RGB color space. The sRGB is independent device color space and based on the monitor characteristice. An accurate characterization of the display device is essential for color matching. The calibration and characterization process in display device is needed to transform the device dependent color to the device independent color. The process of characterization performs a linerizaiton and transforms the linearized values into the CIE XYZ tristimulus values. The purposes of this paper is to estimate color reproduction using device profile and to explain the propriety of transformation method using variable.

Spot the difference: Solving the puzzle of hidden pictures in the lizard genome for identification of regeneration factors

  • All living things share some common life processes, such as growth and reproduction, and have the ability to respond to their environment. However, each type of organism has its own specialized way of managing biological events. Genetic sequences determine phenotypic and physiological traits. Based on genetic information, comparative genomics has been used to delineate the differences and similarities between various genomes, and significant progress has been made in understanding regenerative biology by comparing the genomes of a variety of lower animal models of regeneration, such as planaria, zebra fish, and newts. However, the genome of lizards has been relatively ignored until recently, even though lizards have been studied as an excellent amniote model of tissue regeneration. Very recently, whole genome sequences of lizards have been uncovered, and several attempts have been made to find regeneration factors based on genetic information. In this article, recent advances in comparative analysis of the lizard genome are introduced, and their biological implications and putative applications for regenerative medicine and stem cell biology are discussed.

오차 역전파 알고리즘을 이용한 분광 반사값과 XYZ 값에 대한 스캐너의 칼라 보정 비교 (Comparison of Color Reproduction on Scanner with Spectral Reflectance Value and XYZ using Error Back Propagation)

  • 스캐너를 가지고 이미지를 스캔하면 RGB 값을 얻는다. 이 RGB 값은 스캐너의 빛을 인지하는 소자들의 하드웨어적인 특성이 더해진 장치 의존적인 값이다. 그래서 RGB 값은 왜곡된 칼라 정보를 가지고 있다. 그러므로 칼라 보정을 하기 위해서는 장치 독립적이 값으로 변환해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 장치 독립적인 값을 구하기 위해서 칼라 샘플들을 XYZ로 계측한 값과 400nm에서 700nm 사이의 파장을 계측한 분광 반사값(Spectral reflectance value)을 가지고 스캐너의 칼라 보정을 구현하였다. 구현 방법으로는 신경회로망의 오차 역전파(Error Back Propagation) 알고리즘을 사용하였고 두 가지의 데이터를 가지고 실험했을 때의 결과와 장단점을 비교하였다.

Polyclonal Antibody to a 37-kDa Recombinant Protein Derived from Bovine $20{\alpha}$-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase

  • We prepared the polyclonal antibody anti-$20{\alpha}$-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD) against the recombinant full-length protein bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD in Escherichia coli. The specificity of anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD was demonstrated using Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells transfected with recombinant bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD and bovine placental tissues. According to western blot analysis, anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD specifically recognizes the 37-kDa protein bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD. The protein is not present in untransfected CHO cells. Anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD also recognizes a specific protein in the ovaries and placenta of other animals. Immunostaining was used to detect expression of bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD protein in the cultured luteal cells during the estrous cycle later.

  • 디지털 카메라(Digital Camera)와 같은 휴대형 영상 입력 장치(Portable Image Input Device)는 스캐너 (Scanner)와 달리 3 차원의 피사체(Object)를 디지털 영상으로 생성할 수 있고 다양한 조명 환경(Illuminant)에서 사용할 수 있다는 이유로 많은 응용 분야에서 활발하게 사용되고 있다. 그러나, 정확한 색 재현(Color Reproduction)을 위한 기존의 디지털 카메라 특성화 방법(Digital Camera Characterization Method)은 생성된 영상의 조명 정보를 고려하지 않은 상태에서 색 변환 행렬을 생성하므로 다양한 조명 환경 변화에 대해 적응적으로 대처하지 못하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 카메라가 생성하는 영상의 rgb 색도를 이용하여 색도 평면에 색도 다각형(Chromaticity Polygon)을 구성하고 각 색도 다각형들간의 포함 관계에 따라 조명 정보를 평가함으로써 조명색(Illuminant Color)의 변화에 따른 인간 시각 시스템(Human Visual System)의 색 불변성(Color Constancy)을 재현할 수 있는 디지털 카메라 특성화 방법을 제안한다.
