  • The importance of knowledge and information is ever increasing. The ingredients of the customer value of the information offered for free by the public information organizations are different from those of the ordinary products or services. This study aims to identify the factors which affect the information customer value and the job performance of the R&D managers who use national R&D information service(NTIS). The results show the quality of information service and the perception of services organizations have significant positive effect on customer value. In addition, the customer value have significant influence on the job performance. Meanwhile, the perception of information organizations have not effect on the job performance. Regarding the moderating effect of the information using environment, the results are as follows: the information using environment moderates the relationship between the information service quality and between the customer value and the perception of information organizations, and the relationship between the customer value and the job performance, but does not moderate the relationship between the perception of information services organizations and the job performance. According to the research results, we proposed several implications to foster the customer value management in the field of public information as well as future research directions.

  • Corporate social responsibility is a consistently discussed theme in many industries. Most corporations engage in CSR activities and now inform consumers in detail on what they have been doing for society. It has become a critical tool of consumer communication; however, little is known regarding the role of information transparency in the context of the fashion industry. This study discusses information transparency of fashion corporations which means revealing information regarding cost and garment making processes. The research proved that the higher consumers perceive a fashion brand's CSR performance (CSP), the more they think the provided CSR information is substantial; consequently, there is a favorable evaluation of the brand. The result provides insight regarding the relationship between CSP perception, perceived information substantiality, and brand evaluation. There was a significant partial mediation effect of perceived information substantiality. Moreover, the moderated mediation effect of information transparency appeared significant on the impact of CSP perception for brand evaluation via CSR information substantiality. The process model 7 was used as an analytical tool. The results of this study implies the importance of information transparency in the fashion industry context in the digital era.

  • On the basis of the concept retained in nutition label(NL) the consumer's perception use and demand on NL nutrition knowledge(NH) purchase of nutrient controlled food and dietary modification for health were examined. The subjects were 1203 house wives mainly in the age of 30-40 and self administered questionnaire was employed. The results were as follows. Subjects' demand on nutrition information was greater while the availablity and usefulness of NL was unsatisfactory. The purchase frequencies of nutrient controlled foods were higher compared to NL reading. The use comprehenison reliability of nutrition information were better in high NK group compared to low NK group except the reliability on health claims. The required nutrients for content information were in the order of calorie Ca cholesterol Fe protein and total fat. The demand for nutrient content information was carrelated with intention of subjects' dietary modification but not the use of NL. These results indicate that NL be a good source of nutrition information and the consumers' demand for NL was based on their dietary purpose though the use of NL was unconfirmed.

  • Three-dimensional (3D) video technologies are becoming increasingly popular, as it can provide users with high quality and immersive experiences. However, color inconsistency between the camera views is an urgent problem to be solved in multi-view imaging. In this paper, a perception-based color correction method for multi-view images is proposed. In the proposed method, human visual sensitivity (VS) and visual attention (VA) models are incorporated into the correction process. Firstly, the VS property is used to reduce the computational complexity by removing these visual insensitive regions. Secondly, the VA property is used to improve the perceptual quality of local VA regions by performing VA-dependent color correction. Experimental results show that compared with other color correction methods, the proposed method can greatly promote the perceptual quality of local VA regions greatly and reduce the computational complexity, and obtain higher coding performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the risk perception of reality on social media. Specifically, we analyzed how exposure to risk issues through media and bridging/bonding social capital influence social and personal risk perception. Here, we categorized risk issues into infectious diseases, sex crimes, and radioactive contamination. Findings are as follows. The effect that the type of media and social capital have on risk perception vary depending on the risk issues. Regarding issues of disease and radiation, bridging social capital had a positive effect on social risk perception whereas bonding social capital had a negative effect on personal risk perception. In the case of sex crimes, bonding social capital affected both social and personal risk perception negatively, and an interaction effect between exposures and social capital could be found. The significance of this study is that it considers both media variables from previous studies and social capital variables essential to social media studies and combines the two in order to study the factors that influence risk perception.

  • This study investigates speech perception in noise (SPIN) in Korean. A new type of Korean SPIN test was developed by adopting a similar format to the English SPIN test. The predictability effects, noise effects and their interactions were examined in order to verify the previous findings based on English. The data from 14 Korean adults collected with this new type of Korean SPIN test confirmed the previous findings: first, the participants' overall performance was better in low noise conditions than in high noise conditions. Secondly, there was a tendency for highly predictable words to be more accurately perceived than less predictable words especially in high noise conditions. The results were interpreted in such a way that the listeners actively used both types of information: acoustic information and contextual information in speech perception. When the acoustic property of the speech sound was degraded with noise, the listeners took advantage of the linguistic contextual information in their processing of the speech sound. The findings of this study conform to those of the previous studies based on the English SPIN test. In addition, a possible effect of the frequency of target word was also found, calling for further investigation in this field of research in Korean. Implications of the results were also discussed. • Although Internet provides a lot of convenience such as easy accessibility, interactivity, concurrency, openness, subsequent dysfunction causes serious problems. Especially elementary school students are indiscriminately exposed to the problems, and thus information communication ethics education is needed for the students. This study conducted a survey with randomly selected 5th and 6th graders in Chungbuk area, and analyzed 'students' experience and perception related to information dysfunction' and 'their experience and perception related to information & communication ethics education at school'. In addition, for the detailed understanding of students' current status and accompanying instructional approach, an additional analysis was conducted to examine the existence of the difference according to students' gender and grade. As a result, significant differences were found according to students' gender and grade in their experience and perception related to the information dysfunction and information & communication ethics education. Considering such differences according to students' gender and grade, appropriate instructional approach needs to be prepared to satisfy students' needs for more effective information & communication ethics education.

  • Perceptions of Library and Information (LI) professionals in Nigeria and the impact of COVID-19 on libraries, librarians and library services, were studied. The significance of demographic factors on LI professionals' perception of COVID-19 and its impact on libraries was tested. Descriptive survey design and Purpose sampling technique were adopted. LIS professionals in Nigeria constituted the population, and an online questionnaire designed by the researchers through Microsoft Forms was used. Descriptive analysis of respondents' demographic data and their covid-19 perception were presented in frequencies and percentages using tables while multivariate regression technique was used to test the significance of relationship between variables at P < 0.05. Findings revealed that many (61.4%) of the respondents agreed that COVID-19 is real but have personal reservations. However, 47.5% indicated that COVID-19 is a scientific invention. On the impacts of COVID-19 on libraries, the study found that COVID-19 is a game changer that will enhance the creation of new services by libraries, cause the reconfiguration of library space for safe operations in post-COVID, establishment of new rules and regulations, and more reliance on e-resources. On the test of association, educational qualification of respondents had a significant impact on respondents' perceptions that COVID-19 will reduce the use of library print resources (P-value = 0.005, B: 0.38, [95% CI: 0.115 - 0.646]) and that library will create new services to address the changes caused by COVID-19. Also, educational qualification of respondents significantly influenced respondents' perception that COVID-19 is real. The study recommends that libraries should take advantage of the season to innovate, and that public health institutions should continually educate people on corona virus to disabuse people's mind of conspiracy theories.
