체인코드의 방향정보를 이용한 Filling과 Labelling (Filling and Labelling Algorithm Using Directional Information of Chain-code)

  • A new algorithm for filling the interior of contours and labelling each filled region concurrently is presented. Filling is simply accomplished by inversion method. The labelling information in every scan lines is extracted directly from current direction of chain code so that the proposed algorithm needs less comparision and is more efficient. The contours are followed by two different directions, clockwise for the outer contour and counterclockwise for the inner contour to get filling and labelling information. This algorithm can be applied in case that contours are nested or regions are continous. Simulataneously the proposed algorithm can find the structure tree of object without additional post processing.

  • One of the most common problems in pattern recognition and image processing is filling the interior of a region when its contour is given. The existing algorithms of the filling are parity check technique, seeding technique, and technique based on chain coding the boundaries. In this paper, a very simple but effective technique for filling the interior of bounded region is proposed. This algorithm is based on the information of binary-coded boundary direction and covers some of the drawbacks reported in the earlier relevant works.

  • 3차원 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 관련 연구들이 현재 다양하게 논의되고 있다. Stereoscopy영상을 생성하기 위한 기존의 방법으로는 두 대의 촬영용 카메라를 일정한 간격으로 띄워놓고 피사체를 촬영한 후 해당 좌시점과 우시점을 생성하는 방법을 이용하였다. 하지만 이는 영상 대역폭의 부담을 가져오게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 Depth정보와 한 장의 영상을 이용한 DIBR(Depth Image Based Rendering) Algorithm에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 그중 Gaussian Depth Map을 이용한 Hole-Filling 방법은 DIBR에서 가장 자연스러운 결과를 보여주지만 다른 DIBR Algorithm들에 비해 속도가 현저히 느리다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 영상 생성의 고속화를 위해 GPU를 이용한 Gaussian Hole-Filling Algorithm의 병렬처리 구조를 제안하고 이를 이용한 DIBR Algorithm 생성과정을 제시한다.

  • Water-filling 알고리즘은 적응 MIMO 시스템의 ergodic 용량을 최대화하는 효율적인 전력 할당 방식이지만 이산 변조 지쉬discrete modulation index)를 사용하는 실제의 시스템의 경우 과도한 잉여 전력(residual power)으로 인해 스펙트럼 효율이 감소하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 water-filling 알고리즘의 잉여 전력을 효율적으로 재할당 함으로써 적응 MIMO 시스템의 스펙트럼 효율을 향상시키는 새로운 전력 할당 알고리즘을 제안한다. 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하기 위해 터보 코드가 적용된 적응 MIMO 시스템을 구성하고 다양한 환경에서 시뮬레이션을 수행한다 시뮬레이션 결과, 레일리이 페이딩 환경에서 SNR이 20dB일 때 제안된 알고리즘의 스펙트럼 효율이 기존의 water-filling 알고리즘에 비해 대략 8.9% 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

Spatial Gap-Filling of Hourly AOD Data from Himawari-8 Satellite Using DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) and FMM (Fast Marching Method)

  • Since aerosol has a relatively short duration and significant spatial variation, satellite observations become more important for the spatially and temporally continuous quantification of aerosol. However, optical remote sensing has the disadvantage that it cannot detect AOD (Aerosol Optical Depth) for the regions covered by clouds or the regions with extremely high concentrations. Such missing values can increase the data uncertainty in the analyses of the Earth's environment. This paper presents a spatial gap-filling framework using a univariate statistical method such as DCT-PLS (Discrete Cosine Transform-based Penalized Least Square Regression) and FMM (Fast Matching Method) inpainting. We conducted a feasibility test for the hourly AOD product from AHI (Advanced Himawari Imager) between January 1 and December 31, 2019, and compared the accuracy statistics of the two spatial gap-filling methods. When the null-pixel area is not very large (null-pixel ratio < 0.6), the validation statistics of DCT-PLS and FMM techniques showed high accuracy of CC=0.988 (MAE=0.020) and CC=0.980 (MAE=0.028), respectively. Together with the AI-based gap-filling method using extra explanatory variables, the DCT-PLS and FMM techniques can be tested for the low-resolution images from the AMI (Advanced Meteorological Imager) of GK2A (Geostationary Korea Multi-purpose Satellite 2A), GEMS (Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer) and GOCI2 (Geostationary Ocean Color Imager) of GK2B (Geostationary Korea Multi-purpose Satellite 2B) and the high-resolution images from the CAS500 (Compact Advanced Satellite) series soon.

Hole-filling Method to Enhance Viewing Characteristics for Multilayer Type 3D Display System U sing a DMD

  • We propose a hole-filling method to solve discontinuous depth representation and to reduce the visible seams and cracks that cause the limitation of the viewing angle of the three-dimensional (3D) image in the multilayer type 3D display system. The occlusion and the disocclusion regions between layers, such as the visible seams and cracks, are a major bottleneck of the multilayer type 3D display system to represent a volumetric 3D image by stacking multiple images. As a result, in the reconstructed 3D image, the visible seams and cracks appear as brighter overlapping and undesirable cut-off. In order to resolve the problems above, we applied the depth-fused effect to the sub-depth map generating algorithm and improve the viewing characteristics of the multilayer type 3D display. The experimental demonstrations are also provided to verify the proposed scheme.

Hole-Filling Methods Using Depth and Color Information for Generating Multiview Images

  • This paper presents new hole-filling methods for generating multiview images by using depth image based rendering (DIBR). Holes appear in a depth image captured from 3D sensors and in the multiview images rendered by DIBR. The holes are often found around the background regions of the images because the background is prone to occlusions by the foreground objects. Background-oriented priority and gradient-oriented priority are also introduced to find the order of hole-filling after the DIBR process. In addition, to obtain a sample to fill the hole region, we propose the fusing of depth and color information to obtain a weighted sum of two patches for the depth (or rendered depth) images and a new distance measure to find the best-matched patch for the rendered color images. The conventional method produces jagged edges and a blurry phenomenon in the final results, whereas the proposed method can minimize them, which is quite important for high fidelity in stereo imaging. The experimental results show that, by reducing these errors, the proposed methods can significantly improve the hole-filling quality in the multiview images generated.

  • 3차원 객체를 모델링 하기 위한 방법으로 3D 스캐너를 이용하는 방법과 모션캡처 시스템을 이용하는 방법 그리고 키넥트(Kinect) 시스템을 이용하는 방법 등이 있다. 이러한 방법을 통해 3차원 객체를 생성하는 과정에서 가려짐에 의해 촬영되지 않는 부분이 발생한다. 완벽한 3차원 객체를 구현하기 위해서는 가려진 부분을 임의로 채워줘야 하는 상황이 발생한다. 다양한 영상처리 방법을 통해 가져져 촬영되지 않은 부분을 메우는 기법이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 보다 자연스러운 hole filling을 위한 방법으로 비지도기계학습의 최신 트렌드인 GANs를 이용한 방법을 제안한다.

Design and Fabrication of Information Security Films with Microlouver Pattern and ZnO Nano-Ink Filling

  • Information security films that can ensure personal privacy by reducing the viewing angle of display screens were fabricated by microlouver patterning and a ZnO nano-ink filling process. Optical simulation results demonstrated that all the microlouver films showed good security performances. Security performances were evaluated as calculated relative luminance ratios compared between the side and front. Based on the simulation results, microlouver films were fabricated by UV imprint lithography and nano-ink bar coating. However, distortion of the microlouver pattern occurred with the use of high-viscosity nano-inks such as ZrO2 and TiO2, and the CuO-filled microlouver film suffered from very low optical transmittance. Accordingly, the effects of ZnO filling height on security performance were intensively investigated through simulation and experimental measurements. The fabricated microlouver film with a 75-㎛-high ZnO filling exhibited a good relative luminance ratio of 0.75 at a 60° side angle and a transmittance of 44% at a wavelength of 550 nm.

  • 본 논문은 버스회사의 각 버스를 자동인식하고 그 버스에 주입된 주유량을 자동 계측하여 본사 메인 컴퓨터로 LAN을 통해 데이터를 전송함으로써 본사에서 일괄 처리한 수 있는 시스템으로 버스 자동인식장치, IBM-PC, 주유기 제어 시스템 및 처리 프로그램으로 크게 나뉘어진다. 본 시스템 도입으로 버스회사의 모든 차량 주유상태를 통합관리 할 수 있어 각 버스별, 노선별, 전체의 기름소모량을 일률적으로 화인 관리할 수 있다. 이렇게 함으로써 운전자의 운전습관, 노후정도 및 정비 스케줄의 판단정보로 활용할 수 있고, 경영혁신과 월가분석을 통한 에너지 절감효과가 있다.
