In this paper, we propose techniques to correct the altitude error and heading error of 3D Pedestrian Inertial Navigation (PIN). When a PIN is used to estimate the location of a pedestrian only with an Inetrial Measurement Unit (IMU) without infrastructure, there is a problem in that the location error gradually increases due to the limitation of the observability of the filter. To solve this problem without additional sensors, we propose two techniques in this paper. First, stair walking is recognized in consideration of the altitude difference that may occur during one step. If it is recognized as stair walking, only Zero-velocity UPdaTe (ZUPT) is performed, and if it is recognized as level walking, ZUPT + Altitude Damping (AD) is performed together to correct the altitude error. Second, the straight-line movement direction is calculated through the difference of the estimated position, and the heading error is corrected by matching this information with the link information of the digital map. By applying these techniques, it is verified through real tests that accurate three-dimensional location information of pedestrians can be estimated without infrastructure.

Recently, in wireless video sensor networks(WVSN), various schemes for efficient video data transmission have been studied. In this paper, a layer based cooperative relaying(LCR) algorithm is proposed for minimizing scalable video transmission distortion from packet loss in WVSN. The proposed LCR algorithm consists of two modules. In the first step, a parameter based error propagation metric is proposed to predict the effect of each scalable layer on video quality degradation at low complexity. In the second step, a layer-based cooperative relay algorithm is proposed to minimize distortion due to packet loss using the proposed error propagation metric and channel information of the video sensor node and relay node. In the experiment, the proposed algorithm showed that the improvement of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) in various channel environments, compared to the previous algorithm(Energy based Cooperative Relaying, ECR) without considering the metric of error propagation. The proposed LCR algorithm minimizes video quality degradation from packet loss using both the channel information of relaying node and the amount of layer based error propagation in scalable video.

This paper proposes more robust error concealment techniques (ECTs) for MPEG-2 intra coded frame. MPEG-2 source coding algorithm is very sensitive to transmission errors due to the use of variable-length coding. The transmission errors are corrected by error correction scheme, however, they cannot be revised properly. Error concealment (EC) is used to conceal the errors which are not corrected by error correction and to provide minimum visual distortion at the decoder. If errors are generated in intra coded frame, that is the starting frame of GOP, they are propagated to other inter coded frames due to the nature of motion compensated prediction coding. Such propagation of error may cause severe visual distortion. The proposed algorithm in this paper utilizes the spatio-temporal information of neighboring inter coded frames to conceal the successive slices errors occurred in I-frame. The proposed method also overcomes the problems that previous ECTs reside. The proposed algorithm generates consistent performance even in network where the violent transmission errors frequently occur. Algorithm is performed in MPEG-2 video codec and we can confirm that the proposed algorithm provides less visible distortion and higher PSNR than other approaches through simulations.

This paper is a study on error correction for three-dimensional shape reconstruction based on factorization method. The existing error correction method based on factorization has a limitation of correction because it is optimized globally. Thus in this paper, we propose our new method which can find and correct the only major error influence factor toward three-dimensional reconstructed shape instead of global approach. We define the error-influenced factor in two-dimensional re-projection deviation space and directly control the error components. In addition, it is possible to improve the error correcting performance by recursively applying the above process. This approach has an advantage under noise because it controls the major error components without depending on any geometric information. The performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulation with synthetic and real image sequence to demonstrate noise robustness.
In this letter, closed-form approximations for outage probability and symbol error rate are presented for a selective decode-and-forward relay network with partial channel information. An independent but not identically distributed Rayleigh fading environment is considered. Numerical and simulated results demonstrate the validity of the analytical results.

An analysis method which calculates corrective machining information for improving the motion accuracy of linear motion guide Is proposed in this paper. The method is composed of two algorithms. One is the algorithm fur prediction of the motion errors from rail form error. The other is the algorithm for prediction of rail form error from the motion errors of table. Transfer function is utilized in each algorithm, which represents the ratio of bearing reaction force variation to unit magnitude of spatial frequencies of raid from error. As the corrective machining information is acquired from the measured motion errors of table, the method has a merit not to measure rail form error directly. Validity of the method is verified both theoretically and experimentally. By applying the method, linear motion error of test equipment is reduced from 5.97$\mu$m to 0.58$\mu$m, and reduced from 32.78arcsec to 6.21 arcsec in case of angular motion error. From the results, it is confirmed that the method is very effective to improve the motion accuracy of linear motion guide.

In this study we predict apartment prices per unit in Daegu-Gyeongbuk areas by spatial lag and spatial error models, both of which belong to so-called spatial regression model. A spatial weight matrix is constructed by k-nearest neighbours method and then the models for the apartment prices in March, 2012 are fitted using the weight matrix. The apartment prices in March, 2013 are predicted by the fitted spatial regression models and then performances of two spatial regression models are compared by RMSE (root mean squared error), RRMSE (root relative mean squared error), MAE (mean absolute error).

In this paper, we proposed error-reducing method to source or measure a current or voltage for LED in the I-V characteristic analysis system using a digital signal processor (DSP). this method has the advantage of reducing a non-linear circuit error and random error. random error can be reduced using recursive averaging technique and non-linear circuit error can be reduced using 2rd polynomial regression calibration parameters fitting with measured sample data. it corrects measured error of IR, VR, VF1, VF2, VF3 of LED using calibration parameters. experimental results show that can be performed with about 0.017~0.043% accuracy.

Emerging service classes need an error model which efficiently satisfies the requirements for each media and application. However limited flexibility in the error control has been provided. Therefore we propose a new error control model which applies error control scheme per media flexibly with respect to ETL(Error Tolerance Leverl) and delay. In order to select the error control scheme in this model, the attributes of media(i.e., ETL, isochronism), the attributes of application(i.e., delay) and environment parameters(i.e., packet loss ration, network types, connection modes of the application) are considered as effect factors.
In R&D of artillery system, error budget method is used to predict artillery firing error without field firing test. The error budget method for artillery has been consistently developed but apply for practical R&D of the weapon system has been avoided because of lacks of error budget source information. The error budget source is composed of every detailed error components which affect total distance and deflection error of artillery, and most of them are difficult to be calculated or measured. Also with the inaccuracy of source information, simulated error result dose not reflect real firing error. To resolve that problem, an optimization algorithm is adopted to figure out error budget sources from existing filed firing test. The method of finding input parameter estimation which is commonly used in aerodynamics was applied. As an optimization algorithm, CMA-ES is used and presented in the paper. The error budget sources which are figured out by the presented method can be applied to compute ROC of new weapon systems and may contribute to an improvement of accuracy in artillery.
