In this paper, novel analog duty cycle corrector (DCC) with a digital duty error detector is proposed. The digital duty error detector measures the duty error of the clock and converts it into a digital code. This digital code is then used to accurately correct the duty ratio by adaptively steering the charge-pump current. The proposed duty cycle corrector was implemented using an 80nm DRAM process with 1.8V supply voltage. The simulation result shows that the proposed duty cycle corrector improves the settling time up to $70{\sim}80%$ at 500MHz clock frequency for the same duty correction accuracy as the conventional analog DCC.

In this paper, a new scheme to improve both the capacity and distortion performance for error-prediction method is proposed. For every triangle mesh, two vertices were selected to predict the rest vertex, and the prediction error distances which were vertical and paralleled to the edge between these two vertices would be used to embed two units of secret date amount. We sort the meshes before embedding according to predicted error in order to decrease the distortion. Experiment results show that our approach increase the capacity and decrease the distortion as compared to the original algorithm.

Ns-2 is a proven simulator which is widely utilized to evaluate the performance of wired and wireless network. Ns-2.33 version introduced the extended version including the modules which the core functions of existing 802.11 PHY and MAC layer are implemented. However, if the error rate, one of most important parameters to evaluate a performance of wireless network, is applied to the extended version, the simulation is ceased with several fatal errors. Furthermore, a packet error is detected and discarded on MAC layer in the traditional protocol architecture, but there is the problem which can't identify information about a packet with error by processing packet error on PHY layer in this version. In this paper, we modify the extended version to resolve the above mentioned problems. And also we perform ns-2 simulation using the modified version on the IEEE 802.11p based vehicular ad-hoc networks, and then analyze effects of error rate.

The MPEG-2 source coding algorithm is very sensitive to transmission errors due to using of variable-length coding. When the compressed data are transmitted, transmission errors are generated and error correction scheme is not able to be corrected well them. In the decoder error concealment (EC) techniques must be used to conceal errors and it is able to minimize degradation of video quality. The proposed algorithm is method to conceal successive macroblock errors of I-frame and utilize temporal information of B-frame and spatial information of P-frame In the previous GOP which is temporally the nearest location to I-frame. This method can improve motion distortion and blurring by temporal and spatial errors which cause at existing error concealment techniques. In network where the violent transmission errors occur, we can conceal more efficiently severe slice errors. This algorithm is Peformed in MPEG-2 video codec and Prove that we can conceal efficiently slice errors of I-frame compared with other approaches by simulations.

Formation flying is an important technology that enables high cost-effective organization of outer space aircrafts. The ad-hoc wireless network based on direct-sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) techniques is seen as an effective means of establishing wireless communication links between aircrafts. In this paper, based on the theory of matched filter and error bits correction, a hybrid detection algorithm is proposed for realizing multiuser detection (MUD) when the DS-UWB technique is used in the ad-hoc wireless network. The matched filter is used to generate a candidate code set which may contain several error bits. The error bits are then recognized and corrected by an novel error-bit corrector, which consists of two steps: code mapping and clustering. In the former step, based on the modified optimum MUD decision function, a novel mapping function is presented that maps the output candidate codes into a feature space for differentiating the right and wrong codes. In the latter step, the codes are clustered into the right and wrong sets by using the K-means clustering approach. Additionally, in order to prevent some right codes being wrongly classified, a sign judgment method is proposed that reduces the bit error rate (BER) of the system. Compared with the traditional detection approaches, e.g., matched filter, minimum mean square error (MMSE) and decorrelation receiver (DEC), the proposed algorithm can considerably improve the BER performance of the system because of its high probability of recognizing wrong codes. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can almost achieve the BER performance of the optimum MUD (OMD). Furthermore, compared with OMD, the proposed algorithm has lower computational complexity, and its BER performance is less sensitive to the number of users.

As 3D geospatial information is demanded, terrestrial laser scanners which can obtain 3D model of objects have been applied in various fields such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), structural analysis, and disaster management. To acquire precise data, performance evaluation of a terrestrial laser scanner must be conducted. While existing 3D surveying equipment like a total station has a standard method for performance evaluation, a terrestrial laser scanner evaluation technique for users is not established. This paper categorizes and analyzes error sources which generally occur in terrestrial laser scanning. In addition to the prior researches about categorizing error sources of terrestrial Laser scanning, this paper evaluates the error sources by the actual field tests for the smooth in-situ applications. The error factors in terrestrial laser scanning are categorized into interior error caused by mechanical errors in a terrestrial laser scanner and exterior errors affected by scanning geometry and target property. Each error sources were evaluated by simulation and actual experiments. The 3D coordinates of observed target can be distortedby the biases in distance and rotation measurement in scanning system. In particular, the exterior factors caused significant geometric errors in observed point cloud. The noise points can be generated by steep incidence angle, mixed-pixel and crosstalk. In using terrestrial laser scanner, elaborate scanning plan and proper post processing are required to obtain valid and accurate 3D spatial information.
A GPS sensor is widely used in many areas such as navigation, or air traffic control. Particularly, the car navigation system is equipped with GPS sensor for locational information. However, when a car goes through a tunnel, forest, or built-up area, GPS receiver cannot get the enough number of satellite signals. In these situations, a GPS receiver does not reliably work. A GPS error can be formulated by sum of bias error and sensor noise. The bias error is generated by the geometric arrangement of satellites and sensor noise error is generated by the corrupted signal noise of receiver. To enhance GPS sensor accuracy, these two kinds of errors have to be removed. In this research, we make the road database which includes Road Database File (RDF). RDF includes road information such as road connection, road condition, coordinates of roads, lanes, and stop lines. Among the information, we use the stop line coordinates as a feature point to correct the GPS bias error. If the relative distance and angle of a stop line from a car are detected and the detected stop line can be associated with one of the stop lines in the database, we can measure the bias error and correct the car's location. To remove the other GPS error, sensor noise, the Kalman filter algorithm is used. Additionally, using the RDF, we can get the information of the road where the car belongs. It can be used to help the GPS correction algorithm or to give useful information to users.
The criterion of zero-error probability provides a limitation on error probability functions being used for adaptive systems when the error samples are shifted by the influence of DC-bias noise. In this paper, we employ a bias term in the error distribution and propose a new criterion of the biased zero-error probability with error being zero. Also, by maximizing the proposed criterion on expanded filter structures, a supervised adaptive algorithm has been derived. From the simulation results of supervised equalization, the algorithm based on the proposed criterion yielded zero-centered and highly concentrated error samples without disturbance in the environments of strong impulsive and DC-bias noise.

Multi-hop wireless mesh networks (WMNs) suffer from significant packet losses due to insufficient available bandwidth and high channel error probability. To conquer packet losses, end-to-end (E2E) error control schemes have been proposed. However, in WMNs, E2E error control schemes are not effective in adapting to the time-varying network condition due to large delay. Thus, in this paper, we propose a network-adaptive error control for video streaming over WMNs that flexibly operates E2E and hop-by-hop (HbH) error control according to network condition. Moreover, to provide lightweight support at intermediate nodes for HbH error control, we use path-partition-based adaptation. To verify the proposed scheme, we implement it and evaluate its transport performance through MPEG-2 video streaming over a real IEEE 802.11a-based WMN testbed.

This paper presents a study on the performance analysis on probability of bit error for wavelet in 4-ary SWSK system. The formula for the bit error probability in 4-ary SWSK system was derived from the conventional method. This paper experimentally implements the probability of bit error for Daubechies, Biorthogonal, Coiflet and Symlet wavelet using the conventional formula of bit error probability. Additionally, the performance of bit error probability is analyzed for the period and the number of wavelet taps. Based on the results, we confirmed that the performance of Coiflet and Symlet wavelet for the probability of bit error is superior to the other wavelet, and their probability of bit error are similar.
