  • In order to buy products through the Internet, consumers dissipate much time and efforts in collecting and comparing product information from various online shopping malls. Consumers can save their efforts by using price comparison sites, but there are some shortcomings in comparison shopping. Firstly, comparison sites do not show the lowest price of some products that are selling in shopping malls. Secondly, the product information provided by comparison sites is sometimes wrong. Thirdly, there are too many results. In order to overcome the shortcomings, we suggested a comparison shopping system based on RSS by using ontology matching. We used the current RSS standard for syntactic interoperability instead of suggesting new standards. Moreover, we used ontology matching for semantic interoperability to compare product information with different ontologies. The suggested ontology matching consists of three steps. The first step is finding exact sense from WordNet for a given product category, and the second step is searching for matching product category candidates from the products of RSS feeds. The final step is calculating similarities of the candidates with the target product category. From the experiments, we could get better recall rates that are suitable for e-commerce environments and the results show that our system is effective in product comparison.

  • This paper introduces a method for extracting subtitles from lecture videos through a Korean morpheme analyzer and classifying video categories according to the extracted morpheme information. In some cases incorrect information is entered due to human error and reflected in the characteristics of the items, affecting the accuracy of the recommendation system. To prevent this, we generate a keyword table for each category using morpheme information extracted from pre-classified videos, and compare the similarity of morpheme in each category keyword table to classify categories of Lecture videos using the most similar keyword table. These human intervention reduction systems directly classify videos and aim to increase the accuracy of the system.

  • New types of fire accidents appear or the existing types disappeared because of rapidly changing society. We proposed a methodology of extracting new nouns from fire investigation data each of which is an accident report producted by fire investigators. The new nouns could be used in modifying the existing categories for classifying fire accidents. We analysed morphology of the product names and the ignition summaries using the proposed method for the fire accidents classified as the etc sub-category of the category of equipments involved in ignition. In this paper, we found "dryer" as a new sub-category of the agricultural equipment category and "boiler" in the seasonal appliance category from the product names of the fire accidents. We also extracted the new input keywords of "aquarium" and "monitor" in the commercial facilities category and the video, audio apparatus category from the ignition summaries respectively. Using the four subcategories, we reclassified 548 (14.39%) of 3,808 fire accidents assigned to the etc sub-category.

  • Web information service needs a document classification system for efficient management and conveniently searches. Existing document classification systems have a problem of low accuracy in classification, if a few number of feature words is selected in documents or if the number of documents that belong to a specific category is excessively large. To solve this problem, we propose a document classification system using 'Modified ECCD' feature selection method and 'Category Weight for each Document'. Experimental results show that the 'Modified ECCD' feature selection method has higher accuracy in classification than ${\chi}^2$ and the ECCD method. Moreover, combining the 'Category Weight for each Document' feature value and 'Modified ECCD' feature selection method results better accuracy in classification.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate and analyze the categories of online bookstores and to propose improvements. For the study, the category conformity was compared among eight Korean online bookstores selected; the book classification on the categories was compared from them. The results show that the category conformity was high among online bookstores, but the book classification on the categories was different on the bookstores. ISBN contents classification codes for books might not help to classify the books on the categories. Thus, the study proposes a new publication category for the book classification on categories of online bookstores.

  • The traditional oriental materials are very important to study on Oriental or Korean studies. Every reseacher that study on this field is familier to Four Category Classification Scheme (四部分類法) as it is based on the traditional knowledge of Orient. Then, when all materials of libraries will he computerized, it will be the first condition that will has to understand about the classification of division and section of oriental knowledge, because not only ancient literature but also many dissertation of this subject will be classified. Therefore, Four Category Classification Scheme has been valuable until now. This paper is intended to help librarians to classify the traditional oriental materials or the dissertation concerned with that, to serve researched user that literatures which have been filed among various traditional bibliographies. The outline of this study are as follows: :1 Examining closely origins, developing process and characteristics of classification of Confacian Classics Part (經部) of Four Category Classification Scheme. (2) Explaning the content of division and section of Confucian Classics Part (經部). (3) Coordinating relation of division and section of Confucian Classics Part as well as those of other parts of the classification scheme. (4) Clearing up the limitation of classification related to other division. (5) Attempting to give basic knowledge on practical classification as concrete examples beloging to each division and section of classification.

  • Four Category Classification Scheme(四部分類法), the traditional classification, is the most proper for classifying the traditional oriental marerials than some other classifications. Therefore, Four Category Classification Scheme has been valuable until now. It is obvious that this classificion aims at a rapid and accurate reference in sorting out the materials and maximun use. This paper is intended as a sludy which helps librarians to classify traditional oriental materials. It is also intended to serve librarians to have easy access to ancient literatures which have been filed among various traditional bibliographies for those who are to research oriental materials as an analysis about Miscelleneous Part(子部). The outline of this study are as follows : (1) Examining closely origins, developing process and characteristics of classification of Miscelleneous Part of Four Category Classification Scheme. (2) Explaining the content of division and section of Miscelleneous Part (子部). (3) Coordinating relations of division and section of Miscelleneous Part as well as those of other parts of the classification scheme. • In order to effectively evaluate the urban water security, the study investigates a novel system to assess factors that impact urban water security and builds an urban water poverty evaluation index system. Based on the contribution rates of Resource, Access, Capacity, Use, and Environment, the study adopts the Water Poverty Index (WPI) model to evaluate the water poverty levels of 14 cities in Gansu during 2011-2018 and uses the least variance method to evaluate water poverty space drive types. The case study results show that the water poverty space drive types of 14 cites fall into four categories. The first category is the dual factor dominant type driven by environment and resources, which includes Lanzhou, Qingyang, Jiuquan, and Jiayuguan. The second category is the three-factor dominant type driven by Access, Use, and Capability, which includes Longnan, Linxia, and Gannan. The third category is the four-factor dominant type driven by Resource, Access, Capability, and Environment, which includes Jinchang, Pingliang, Wuwei, Baiyin, and Zhangye. The fourth category is the five-factor dominant type, which includes Tianshui and Dingxi. The driven types impacting the urban water security factors reflected by the WPI and its model are clear and accurate. The divisions of the urban water security level supply a reliable theoretical and numerical basis for an urban water security early warning mechanism.

  • The amount of incoming e-mails is increasing rapidly due to the wide usage of Internet. Therefore, it is more required to classify incoming e-mails efficiently and accurately. Currently, the e-mail classification techniques are focused on two way classification to filter spam mails from normal ones based mainly on Bayesian and Rule. The clustering method has been used for the multi-way classification of e-mails. But it has a disadvantage of low accuracy of classification. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-way e-mail classification method that uses PCA for automatic category generation and dynamic category hierarchy for high accuracy of classification. It classifies a huge amount of incoming e-mails automatically, efficiently, and accurately.

  • For development of landslide risk assessment techniques using GIS(Geographic Information System), this study classifies the category of socioeconomic factors. The landslide quantitative risk assessment performs first prediction of flow trajectory and runout distance of debris flow over natural terrain. Based on those results, it can be analyzed the factors of socioeconomic which are directly related to the magnitude of risk due to landslide hazards. Those risk assessment results can deliver factual damage situation prediction to policy making for the landslide damage mitigation. Therefore, this study is based on feature classification of the digital map ver. 2.0 provided by the National Geographic Information Institute. The category of factors can be used as useful data in preventing landslide.
