Application of Percentile Rainfall Event for Analysis of Infiltration Facilities used by Prior Consultation for LID (Low Impact Development)

  • Purpose: Retention and infiltration of small and frequently-occurring rainfall by LID facilities account for a large proportion of the annual precipitation volume. Based on 4 standard facilities such as Porous Pavement, Infiltration Trench, Cylindrical Infiltration Well, Rectangular Infiltration Well by Seoul Metropolitan Handbook of the Prior Consultation for LID. The total retention volume of each facility was calculated according to the type and size. The Purpose of this study is to find out the quantitative relationship between Percentile Rainfall Event and Design Volume of Infiltration Facilities. Methode: For the estimation of Percentile Rainfall Event, Daily Precipitation of Seoul from 2005 to 2014 was sorted ascending and the distribution of percentile was estimated by PERCENTILE spreadsheet function. The managed Rainfall Depth and Percentile of each facility was calculated at the several sizes. In response to the rainwater charge volume of 5.5mm/hr by the Category "Private large site", the 3 types of facilities were planned for example. The calculated Rainfall Depth and Percentile were 54.4mm and 90% by the use of developed Calculation-Module based on the Spreadsheet program. Result: With this Module the existing Designed Infiltration volume which was introduced from Japan was simply converted to the Percentile-Rainfall-Event used in USA.

투수성 보도블록의 침투능 분석에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Analysis of Infiltration Capacity of the Permeable Block)

  • 본 연구에서는 침투형 우수유출저감시설 중 투수성 보도블록에 대한 침투량을 정량적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 다양한 강우 조건하에서 투수성 보도블록의 침투량 산정 실험을 실시하였고 수리실험 결과와 수치모의 결과를 비교 분석하여 적정성을 파악하였다. 투수성 보도블록의 수리실험을 통해 종기침투능을 분석한 결과 강우강도가 커짐에 따라 종기침투능과 유출시작시간은 급격하게 감소되어도 유출이 발생하기 전까지의 침투량은 강우강도에 관계없이 약 300.0 l 이상으로 유지되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 수리실험과 수치모의 결과를 바탕으로 강우강도별 누적침투량의 통계분석에 의한 결정계수 산정결과 $0.958{\sim}0.996$의 높은 상관관계를 나타내었다.

우수저류 및 침투연못 시스템개발 사례연구 - 우수 저류 및 침투 효과를 중심으로 - (A Case Study on Development of Stormwater Retention and Infiltration Pond System)

  • This study was carried out to analyze the effects of stormwater retention and infiltration pond on reduction of flood peak and volume in a experimentally developed ecological pond. The experimental site has 542$m^2$ watershed area, 1,310mm yearly-averaged rainfall. And the area of the retention pond is 60$m^2$, the maximum water depth is 0.5m, the maximum and average storage is 15$m^3$and 9.3$m^3$d. And the area of infiltration pond is 58$m^2$, and the water depth varies 0.2m~0.5m. The monitoring system consists of one rainfall gage, one Parshall flume and acoustic water level gage, two rectangular weirs and acoustic water level gage for discharge gaging, and one data recording unit. Data from ten storm events in total, three storm events in year 2000 and seven storm events in year 2001, were collected. From the data the evaporation rate was achieved with the water balance equation, and the result shows 5.0mm/day in average. The result from the analysis of the effects on reduction of flood peak and volume, is that 14% reduction of flood volume and 15% reduction of flood peak in retention pond and 49% reduction of flood volume in infiltration pond.

효과적인 유역관리를 위한 CN기법 기반의 침투량 산정 및 기저유출량 분석 (Estimation of CN-based Infiltration and Baseflow for Effective Watershed Management)

  • Increased Non-permeable areas which have resulted from civilization reduce the volume of groundwater infiltration that is one of the important factors causing water shortage during a dry season. Thus, seeking the efficient method to analyze the volume of groundwater in accurate should be needed to solve water shortage problems. In this study, two different watersheds were selected and precipitation, soil group, and land use were surveyed in a particular year in order to figure out the accuracy of estimated infiltration recharge ratio compared to Web-based Hydrograph Analysis Tool (WHAT). The volume of groundwater was estimated considering Antecedent soil Moisture Condition (AMC) and Curve Number (CN) using Long Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment (L-THIA) model. The results of this study showed that in the case of Kyoung-an watershed, the volume of both infiltration and baseflow seperated from WHAT was 46.99% in 2006 and 33.68% in 2007 each and in Do-am watershed the volume of both infiltration and baseflow was 33.48% in 2004 and 23.65% in 2005 respectively. L-THIA requires only simple data (i.e., land uses, soils, and precipitation) to simulate the accurate volume of groundwater. Therefore, with convenient way of L-THIA, researchers can manage watershed more effectively than doing it with other models. L-THIA has limitations that it neglects the contributions of snowfall to precipitation. So, to estimate more accurate assessment of the long term hydrological impacts including groundwater with L-THIA, further researches about snowfall data in winter should be considered.

불포화 토양에서 빗물의 침투특성 : 유한요소 모델과 실험결과 비교 (Rainwater Infiltration Characteristics in the Unsaturated Soil : Comparison of Finite Element Model with Experimental Results)

  • Infiltration plays an important role in the urban water cycle. Infiltration has a potential to contribute to groundwater recharge in addition to runoff reduction. However, infiltration in urban areas has been considered only as a means of runoff reduction. Conventional design methods for infiltration facilities assume soils to be fully-saturated for the sake of simplicity. The amount of groundwater recharge can not be estimated properly with this scheme. Hence, the characteristics of the unsaturated soil condition need to be considered. The finite element model using SEEP/W to estimate infiltration under the unsaturated condition is presented. Infiltration tests for Joomonjin sand are performed and the infiltration behavior of Joomoonjin sand under the unsaturated condition is measured experimentally to verify the validity of the finite element model. The results from comparing infiltrated volume between the saturated and the unsaturated conditions under the same soil and rainfall conditions show that the infiltrated volume in the unsaturated condition is two times bigger than that in the saturated condition.

도시 물 순환 건전성을 위한 유수지와 침투기반 저류지의 복합설계기법 (An Hybrid Approach for Designing Detention and Infiltration-based Retentions to Promote Sound Urban Hydrologic Cycle)

  • 본 연구는 도시환경개선계획의 일환으로서 강우유출수 제어설비의 크기 결정과 관련된 복합 설계기법을 제안하고 있다. 제안된 복합설계기법의 목적은 도시 개발이전의 수문순환상태를 복원시키는 것에 있다. 먼저, 연속적인 강우기록으로부터 개개의 강우사상을 분리하기 위해 IETD를 결정한다. 그 다음에 NRCS-CN 방법을 적용하여 모든 강우사상에 대한 직접유출량과 침투량을 산정한다. 직접유출량과 침투량의 장기간 통계치는 개발이전, 개발이후, 개발이후 유수지 설계, 그리고 개발이후 제안된 복합설계의 경우에 대하여 각각 분석된다. 개발이전의 직접유출량과 침투량을 재현하기 위해서 유전자 알고리즘을 적용하여 유수지 및 침투기반 저류지의 크기가 산정된다. 제안된 복합설계기법은 자연 상태의 직접유출량과 침투량의 통계치를 재현하는데 매우 효과적인 것이 보여진다.

유출저감을 위한 유역내 침투시설의 적용 (An Application of Infiltration Facilities for Reducing the Runoff in the Basin)

  • 유역의 도시화는 유출총량과 첨두유량의 증가와 도달시간이 감소시키며, 홍수피해의 위험성을 더욱 크게 만든다. 침투시설은 도시유역의 유출총량과 첨두유량을 감소시킬 수 있고, 그 종류에는 침투트렌치와 투수성 포장재 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 침투시설 설치에 따른 우수유출저감효과를 알아보기 위하여 경북 구미시 옥계동의 $0.18km^2$와 공단동의 $0.67km^2$의 면적을 가진 도시유역을 대상으로 하여 각각의 유역특성을 분석하고, 유출총량 및 첨두유량의 저감량을 WinSLAMM 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 또한, 침투시설 설치에 따른 첨두유량저감효과를 분석하였고, 침투시설 면적비와 유출저감률과의 관계식을 도출하였다.

Braided 탄소섬유강화 알루미늄 기지 금속복합재료의 제조 및 기계적 특성평가 (Fabrication and Mechanical Characterization of Braided Carbon Fiber Reinforced Al Matrix Composites)

  • Braided carbon fiber reinforced Al matrix composites were developed and characterized. Braided carbon fiber preforms with braiding angles of $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ were manufactured by using a braiding machine. The manufactured braided carbon fibers were used as reinforcement to fabricate Al matrix composites by employing a pressure infiltration casting method. In the processing of pressure infiltration casting, important processing parameters such as melting temperature, preheating temperature of preform and applied pressure were optimized. Prediction of elastic constants on composites was performed by using the volume averaging method, which utilizes the coordinate transformation and the averaging of stiffeness and compliance constants based upon the volume of each reinforcement and matrix material. The elastic moduli of composites were evaluated by using Resonant Ultrasound Spectroscopy(RUS) method and compared with the elastic moduli obtained from static tensile test method.

침투트렌치 적용방안에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Application Method of Infiltration Trench)

  • 본 연구에서는 침투형 우수유출저감시설 중 침투트렌치에 대한 치수효과를 25 cm 관경을 가진 트렌치를 사용하여 수위별(5, 10, 15, 20, 25 cm) 유입유량을 적용하여 실험하였고 침투량, 유출량, 유출 시작시간, 종기침투능 및 종기침투능에 도달하는 시간 등을 계측하여 실험을 통한 침투트렌치의 적용방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 침투트렌치의 규모는 배수구역을 $130m^2$($6.5\;m{\times}20\;m$)로 가정하여 유역면적에 대한 CN값으로 산정하였으며 AMC-I 조건에서 5개의 침투트렌치 수위에 대한 CN은 트렌치경사 2%일 때 84, 경사 5%일 때 83으로 산정되었고, AMC-III 조건에서 CN은 트렌치 경사 2%, 5% 모두 84로 산정되었다.

하수관거내 불량개소수와 I/I발생량간의 상관성분석 (Analysis of Correlation Between Defective Number of Sewer Pipes and I/I(Infiltration/Inflow) Volume)

  • I/I(Infiltration/Inflow) characteristics should be studied to achieve I/I reduction which is a main object of sewer rehabilitation. However, The scientific and practical studies which are based on actual survey within the country are not thorough going enough. The earlier studies were limited because of a short research period and specific region. Thus, In this study, a formula is deduced by intensive correlation analysis between defective number and I/I volume in sewer pipe. It can be used as preliminary data when the project established for cost-effective pipe rehabilitation. The study shows that the researched region have a faulty point at every 9.3m on average and prove correlation between defective number and I/I volume in sewer pipes. Thus, this study can improve the investigation system and estimate the volume of the pipe rehabilitation, when site investigations for rehabilitation have been conducted.
