등온 수직벽의 자연대류 막응축 모델에 관한 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis of Models for Free Convective Film Condensation on an Isothermal Vertical Wall)

  • The existing theoretical models for steady two-dimensional free convective laminar film condensation of pure saturated or superheated vapor under atmospheric pressure on isothermal vertical wall have been reviewed. To investigate the effects such as inertia, thermal convective and liquid-vapor interface shear stress, the models of constant or variable properties in liquid film for condensation of saturated vapor are compared in detail with Nusselt model. Also, for condensation of superheated vapor, the effects of superheated temperature and variable properties in liquid and vapor layers are examined and then a new correlation is proposed to predict the heat transfer. The results are in good agreement with the Shang's correlation within 2% errors.

기-액 기둥에서 기포유동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bubble Flow in the Gas-Liquid Plume)

  • The characteristics of upward bubble flow were experimentally investigated in a liquid bath. In the present study, a thermal-infrared camera and high speed CCO camera were used to measure their temperature and local rising velocity, respectively. Heat transfer from bubble surface to water is largely completed within z=10mm from the nozzle, and then the temperature of bubble surface reaches that of water rapidly. The rising velocity of bubble was calculated for two different experimental conditions: 1) bubble flow without kinetic energy 2) with kinetic energy. Bubble flow without kinetic energy starts to undergo the effect of inertia force 10cm away from the nozzle. Whereas, kinetic energy is dominant before 30 cm away from the nozzle in bubble flow, but after this point, kinetic energy and inertial force are applied on bubble flow at the same time.

  • The effect of an inertia moment of a pump flywheel on the thermal-hydraulic behaviors of the KALIMER-600(Korea Advanced LIquid MEtal Reactor) reactor pool during an early-phase of a loss of normal heat sink accident was investigated. The thermal-hydraulic analyses for a steady and a transient state were made by using the COMMIX-1AR/P code. In the present analysis a quarter of the reactor geometry was modeled in a cylindrical coordinate system, which includes a quarter of a reactor core and a UIS, a half of a DHX and a pump and a full IHX. In order to evaluate the effects of an inertia moment of the pump flywheel, a coastdown flow whose flow halving time amounts to 3.69 seconds was supplied to a natural circulation flow in the reactor vessel. Thermal-hydraulic behaviors in the reactor vessel were compared to those without the flywheel equipment. The numerical results showed a good agreement with the design values in a steady state. It was found that the inertia moment contributes to an increase in the circulation flow rate during the first 40 seconds, however to a decrease of it there after. It was also found that the flow stagnant region induced by a core exit overcooling decelerated the flow rate. The appearance of the first-peak temperature was delayed by the flow coastdown during the initial stages after a reactor trip.

  • A manipulator is operated for the motion of mechanical hands or arms. When a cup including liquid inside is shifted by a manipulator, it is important to know how a free surface of the liquid moves. In this study, non dimensional parameters have been found that affect the rise of the free surface in a cup moving with constant acceleration. The non-dimensional parameters are the dimensionless time, the ratio of inertia effect to viscous effect (the Reynolds number), the aspect ratio of the liquid inside the cup and the acceleration ratio (the Froude number). Through this study, the height of the free surface rise in a cup has been predicted and the detailed velocities in the liquid have been examined. Generally, the maximum rise of the free surface is dependent on the Reynolds number and Froude number strongly, but on the aspect ratio weakly. However, the influence of the aspect ratio on the maximum rise of the free surface is not negligible in the range of 10 < Re < 100.

수평평판의 층류 막응축에서 압력의 영향 (The Effect of Pressure on Laminar Film Condensation along a Horizontal Plate)

  • Laminar film condensation of saturated vapor in forced flow over a flat plate is analysed. The problem is formulated as exact boundary-layer solution and integral approximate solution. From numerical solutions of the governing equations, it is found that the energy transfer by convection and the effect of inertia term in the momentum equation in negligibly small for low pressure but quite important for high pressure. The condensate rate, liquid-vapor interfacial shear stress and local heat transfer are strongly dependent on the reduced pressure $P_r$ and the modified Jacob number Ja/Pr.

  • It is necessary to detect the tilt angle for control or monitoring of various systems such as ship, aircraft recreation facilities etc as well as bridge or building systems. However the electronic liquid charge type tilt sensor which is one of typical tilt sensor has many problems. Those are remarkably slow response time and limited mounting condition because or liquid viscosity coefficient and inertia etc. In this study we propose a tilt angle instrumentation method using piezoelectricity acceleration sensor. The method can he applied on moving mount We verified the validity of the method through experiment.

  • Laminar film condensation of a saturated vapor in forced flow over a flat plate is analyzed by using integral method. Laminar condensate film is so thin that the inertia and thermal convection terms in liquid flow can be neglected. Approximate solutions for water are presented and well agreed with the similarity solutions over the wide range of physical parameter, Cp1(Ts-Tw)/Pr.hfg. For the strong condensation case, it is found that magnitude of the interfacial shear stress at the liquid-vapor interphase boundary is approximately equal to the momentum transferred by condensation, i.e., ${\tau}_i{\simeq}\dot{m}(U_O-U_i)$.

  • In this study, an experimental investigation is performed for evaluation of a liquid pool spreading model with continuous release. The model considered in this study was developed based on a concept which means that the liquid pool spreading is governed by a balance between an inertia force from gravity and a frictional force from friction with the ground under the whole base of the liquid pool. For evaluation of the model, experimental study is performed. Experimental apparatus is setup for measuring release rate, spreading velocity, and evaporation rate from a liquid pool. The experimental results are compared with results from the model. By applying release and evaporation rates obtained from experiments to solving the model, liquid pool radius variation according to time can be obtained. For evaluation of an effect of friction force in the spreading model, results obtained from the models with and without the friction force are compared with those obtained from the experiments. As a result, it is shown that there exists a large deviation between the results obtained from the model without the friction force and the experimental results. On the other hand, the tendency of liquid pool radius variation according to time is similar between the results obtained from the model without the friction force and the experimental results.
