  • Recently, the demand for marine leisure industry is rapidly increasing due to the five-day work week and the per capita income approaching US $ 30,000. In particular, the Republic of Korea is surrounded by the sea on three sides and is composed of 3,150 islands and coastline. As shipbuilding infrastructure is abundant and the government is expected to actively support policies as a new growth engine, leisure boat furniture industry is expected to grow rapidly along with leisure boat manufacturing. Therefore, in this paper, after understanding the leisure boat (yacht) and analyzing the requirements of yacht furniture, we proposed a beautiful yacht furniture design that is lightweight, durable and safe using a 120-foot super yacht that can best show the characteristics of yacht furniture using wood bending technology and color variation of woods.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the preferences to yacht tourism and perceptions to importance of yacht tourism industry's activation strategies from consumers perspectives. In order to such a purpose, this study employed survey methodology with a total of 300 visitors to yacht facility and beach located in B metropolitan city. With 265 usable questionnaires, data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Accordingly, following findings were derived from current study. First, 32% of participants had yacht tourism experiences and more than 64% of them had willing to purchase yacht tourism products in the future, which indicates optimistic increases in yacht tourism demand. In addition, amount of willingness to pay for yacht tourism was less than 100 thousand Won per day. Second, the most preferred product was a yacht training and experience program, and preferred time for yacht tourism was weekend and or vacation with the period of one day or one night and two days. The main motivation was to spend leisure time and enjoyment with accompanying persons of family or friend members. Third, consumers' restriction factors included high expenditures, time consuming and lack of various yacht tourism products but their selection attributes included low expenditures, associated tourism products and quality of yacht tourism products. Finally, the most important activation strategies included the development of yacht tourism products, building yacht tourism conditions and establishing marketing strategies, but the least important activation strategies from consumers views included policies, experts and facilities.

  • Recently, according to the increase of income and development of quality of life, the leisure industry has been developed. In particular, the interest of design and manufacture technology of leisure yacht has significantly increased. However, domestic market of leisure ships is currently in its initiating stage. So research and development for structural strength of leisure yacht need to be investigated. In this study, lug of yacht's mast which is known for a critical damage region is explicitly considered. This paper deals with the estimation of stress concentration factors (SCFs) for lug of yacht's mast depending on dimensions of lug using hot spot stress. Also, SCF formulae is suggested using parametric study.

  • This study was to consider the development strategy of Jeju Marine leisure equipment industry for facilitating marine leisure tourism industry. For achieving this goal, the case studies related to domestic & foreign marine leisure equipment industry, interviews of marine leisure equipment company, the contents of specialist consultation meeting were used in this study. The strategies for promoting were suggested in progress that step 1 was the expansion of maintenance infrastructure as of a port of call, step 2 was the establishing of marie leisure tourism image, step 3 was the integration of marine leisure equipment industry. More specific suggestions were followed. As an aspect of infrastructure, the expansion of management of marine leisure equipment such as yacht, development of marina having similar image of Jeju were suggested. As an aspect of law/institution, the development of financial support system on the marine leisure equipment, promotion of establishment of professional education institutions were suggested. As an aspect of contents/programs, the hosting the exhibition of marine leisure used equipment of international trade, the development of environmental-friendly program associated with cruise were suggested, Finally, as an aspect of promotion/marketing, the promotions linked with drama & movie industry, the strategy of improvement of negative image to the yacht industry were suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is the Influence of Sailing Yacht Experiences Participants of Flow on Satisfaction and Self-esteem relates to the impact on leisure industry, the popularity of korean culture and yacht basis for the realization is to provide. To achieve this study, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam area residents to target marine leisure and marine leisure experiences Academy experienced subjects participated in a total population of 428 people selected for the survey was conducted, data processing method frequency analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, a simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis was used. Than as a result of research methods and data analysis through the conclusions are as follows. First, sailing yacht experience the flow degree of the participants to influence satisfaction were static. Second, the flow degree of the participants experienced sailing yacht self-esteem(general factors, family factors, work factors, social factors) was found to affect the static. Third, sailing yacht experience satisfaction self-esteem of the participants(general factor, family factors, work factors, social factors) was found to affect the static.

  • Recently, design technology of has been required such as catamaran yacht with high-speed according to expand a marine leisure industry. The domestic technical development for design and production of yacht is not actively than Canada, USA, Japan etc. However, with further development of yacht design & technology, it is need to develop a key technology related to increase the value of catamaran yacht. In the present paper, new guideline is suggest for catamaran yacht as like kinds of marine leisure ship in order for fundamental structure design and structural analysis for twin-hulled ship yacht and techniques for structural analysis as sea leisure ship in this research. The class of society has not been proposed formally about regulation and methodology for estimation of strength of small hight-speed craft with satisfying two conditions as noted; length less than 50meters, ratio of length to breadth less than 12. In the present study, we were adopted DNV (Yachts, Design Principles, Design Loads, Hull Structural Design) Rule and KR (FRP rule application guide) for scantling of structural members. Furthermore, ABS rule is used for structural calculation about application of loading conditions for catamaran yacht. This study can be available feedback role to manufacture of 38ft diffusion style for catamaran yacht. It is expected that this study will be a good reference in order to design of catamaran yacht with high-speed.

  • This study suggests a navigation route for maritime tourism cruise sail yacht that sails off from Yeosu, and passes by Baekdo and Geomundo with their live island culture, to Kimnyeonghang of the Jeju islands. Recently, there are increasing number of accidents in proportion to vitalizing marine leisure. That's why it should be examined by region and sea when developing safe sea route considering characteristics of the sailing yacht. Thus, it is needed to introduce marine culture, hold international sailing yacht race and develop multi-functional sea port according to the case of Geomundo. Also additional analysis for navigation ruote patterns and density of the fairway is required. This information will improve safe sailing level of sailing yacht that will help the local tourism industry.

  • The research developed twin keel yacht for everyone which is able to stand erectly on mud flat without list and intended to commercialize the development product for popularization of west coast's marine leisure industry. Yacht's linear was utilized by "Blue Water21" has superior performance among the existing sailing yachts and twin keel model has been tested by calculation of mono keel's extent and its center of gravity. The result was that only 4 % of difference have been identified between mono keel and twin keel's hydrodynamic resistance which was smaller difference than predicted.
