양손잡이 리더십과 혁신적인 업무 행동: 한국 반도체 산업의 증거 (Ambidextrous Leadership and Innovative Work Behavior: Evidence from South Korea Semiconductor Industry)

  • The semiconductor industry is a competitive, complicated and a cyclical sector with a highly dynamic business climate which requires an effective leadership style to operate and succeed. This study explores the important issue of how leadership facilitates employee innovative work behaviors in the semiconductor industry. Based on the assumptions of the ambidextrous leadership theory and social exchange theory, we collected data from 300 workers employed in the semiconductor industry of South Korea. The study investigated (1) the impact of ambidextrous leadership on innovative work behavior, (2) the mediating effects of workers decision-making autonomy and workplace learning in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior, (3) the moderating role of resistance to change in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and workplace learning, and (4) the moderating role of openness to experience in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior. SmartPLS 4 and SPSS v24 was used to analyze our data. The study revealed that ambidextrous leadership positively influences workers innovative work behavior. In addition, decision-making autonomy and workplace learning partially mediated the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior. Moreover, resistance to change was found to be a significant moderator in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and workplace learning. Based on these findings, we conclude that ambidextrous leadership is very imperative for semiconductor businesses seeking to foster employee innovative work behaviors. Theoretical and practical implications of the study are also discussed.

  • There is no absolute leadership through East and West. Just as past and present conditions are not the same, it is not easy for past leadership to apply to the present. The best leadership will be the leadership that can represent and lead the changing situation. In that sense, the creative leadership is the most appropriate leadership required by the present age. In the society, research on creative leadership is actively conducted in schools and companies, but there is no research on creative leadership in the military. This is the first study in the military about creative leadership. It is meaningful to understand the understanding of creative leadership and the applicability of the military and to provide a basis for future research. First, we measured the organizational effectiveness of creative leadership. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis using SPSS 18.0. The results of this study were as follows. First, the organizational effectiveness of creative leadership and organizational goals and achievement were measured, and it was found that there was significant influence on the relationship between creative leadership and organizational effectiveness. I could confirm some. This would be meaningful in that it suggested the possibility of applying the leadership of the creative leadership to lead the change of society and to implement the military command.

A Causal Analysis of Conglomerate Bankruptcies

  • Purpose - Strategic causes for the failure include unrealistic growth, overexpansion, unfamiliar new markets, volume obsession, unrealistic promises and poor project selection. Organizational causes are insufficient capital and profits, lack of business knowledge, poor financial management, poor sales skills, inadequate marketing, poor leadership, poor leadership transfer, project losses, poor field performance and owner bankruptcy. Uncontrollable causes include industry and economic weakness and banking and surety changes. While helpful, the list provides insufficient clarity regarding the causal roots of failure. Research design, data and methodology - The research framework to organize the information involved with many of the recent and large failures in the industry. Results - This research then identified five dominant root causes - excessive egoism, poor strategic leadership, too much change, loss of discipline and inadequate capitalization. Conclusion - Finally, additional input from external forces may accelerate the firm's pace to failure. It is important on the development of diagnostic tools that are based on this model and that will provide new ways to assess a conglomerate's level of risk for incurring a financial crisis.

문화·예술 산업의 변혁적 리더십과 집단효능감 간의 관계에 관한 연구 - 직무의미성의 매개효과 - (A Study on the Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Collective Efficacy in Culture and Art Industry - Mediating effect of job meaning -)

  • 본 연구는 문화 예술 산업의 조직이 타 조직과 비교하여 전통을 중시하고 예술적 가치에 큰 비중을 두는 특성에 초점을 두었다. 이러한 특징을 반영하여 산업의 발전과 경제적 가치 창출에 대한 방법을 제시하고자 변혁적 리더십과 직무의미성, 집단효능감의 관계를 실증분석하고, 효과를 밝히고자 한다. 이 관계를 밝히고자, 문헌 연구를 바탕으로 연구모형 및 가설을 설정하였고, 해당 산업 종사자를 대상으로 377부의 설문지를 배포 회수하여 실증분석을 시행하였다. 연구결과, 변혁적 리더십은 집단효능감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 변혁적 리더십이 직무의미성에 미치는 영향과 직무의미성이 집단효능감에 미치는 영향, 직무의미성의 매개 효과를 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 문화 예술 산업에서 변혁적 리더십이 구성원들의 태도에 미치는 효과를 파악함으로써 조직 변화에 대한 가이드라인을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

A Program for University Student's IT Leadership Renovation

  • In this paper, we propose a new program for university student's IT leadership renovation. Automation and Artificial Intelligence(AI) are changing the nature of work. According to MGI report, they will change the skills needed in the workforce. Leadership is one of the skills needed more of in the future at workplace including IT industry. Leadership could be defined as having 5 level leadership. According to the 5 level leadership, a program was formulated to renovate university student's self-leadership, teamwork, team leadership and finally global leadership. We named the program as Stepping-Stone Platform for Student's IT Leadership Renovation(SSP-SLR). Each level of four stepping stones consists of one semester. Student can raise their leadership skills by the program step by step. Various instruction learning methodologies are adopted to the program, including Flipped learning which has been proved effective in many ways in the field of education recently.

The Role of Transformational Leadership toward Work Performance through Intrinsic Motivation: A Study in the Pharmaceutical Field in Vietnam

  • The study aims to identify the role of transformational leadership toward work performance through intrinsic motivation in pharmaceutical field by a survey of 220 pharmacists in Vietnam. The pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam is experiencing rapid growth, accompanied by the need for a change in leadership for managers. The transformational leadership creates a proactive, positive attitude, passion, interest or an increase in intrinsic motivation of employees, thereby affecting work performance. This study performed reliable verification by Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, then the factors are analyzed by EFA before conducting multivariate regression analysis. The results showed that the transformational leadership style includes such factors as: idealized influence (attributed and behavior), inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration have a positive impact on intrinsic motivation and thereby positively affecting work performance. It confirms that employees will have a higher intrinsic motivation level when working under transformational leadership from their leaders. It makes employees work more efficiently. According to the research results, the pharmacist has an intrinsic motivation to work hard on tasks that contribute to the group overall goal of. That requires managers to have a task assignment strategy to connect the goals of the members together as well as of the members to the group.

정보통신기술산업 CEO의 변혁적 리더십과 구성원의 혁신 및 조직시민행동의 관계: CSR 조절효과 (The Relationships of CEO's Transformational Leadership on Members' Innovative Behaviors & Members' Organizational Citizenship in the ICT Industry: Moderating Effect of CSR Management)

  • 본 연구는 국내 정보통신기술산업의 조직구성원들이 지각한 CEO의 변혁적 리더십과 구성원들의 자기효능감과 혁신행동, 조직시민행동 그리고 사회책임경영 수준과 조직변화수용도와의 관계를 조사하고자 실증 분석을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 ICT기업에 재직하고 있는 구성원들을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 통해 417부를 회수하였고, SPSS와 AMOS를 활용하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. CEO의 변혁적 리더십은 자기효능감에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 자기효능감은 구성원의 혁신행동과 조직시민행동에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 CEO의 변혁적 리더십과 구성원의 혁신행동과 조직 시민행동에 대해 매개역할을 하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 사회책임경영은 변혁적 리더십과 자기효능감간의 관계에 조절효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

중소 ICT 기업 학습조직 참여자의 셀프리더십이 학습지향성과 LMX를 통하여 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Small ICT Businesses' Learning Organization Participants' Self-Leadership on Their Job Satisfaction, Through Learning Orientation and Leader-Member Exchange)

  • Global conglomerates in the late 2010s are seeking changes from the existing method of financial growth into that of sustainable growth, as they are facing the age of 4th industrial revolution. In preparation for this change of the times and to stay competitive, small businesses are required to produce creative knowledge, and systematically share and store it by means of implementing voluntary and specific changes in their convictions and actions. This study aims to empirically examine how the ICT small businesses' organizational learning participants' self-leadership affect their job satisfaction through organization orientation and Leader-Member Exchange(LMX). The research sample consists of the first to third-year employees that have previously participated in the small businesses' organizational learning support project, and of learning leaders, group leaders, and group members from companies that have previously concluded the project. The results are as follows: First, the self-leadership at the ICT small businesses' organizational learning project has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. The same positive results are shown in learning orientation and LMX. Second, the learning orientation has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Third, the LMX has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to categorize group of firms by using characteristics of technical innovation in telecommunication industry and to identify relationships between types of technical innovation and such contingency factors of technical innovation. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows; First, Type 1 Group (Innovative Industry Leading Group) tends to use innovative and market differentiation strategy and has more innovative C.E.O's management style and innovative culture. Second, Type 2 Group (Dependent Group on Market Change) tends to use market differentiation or cost leadership strategy and has a more conservative C.E.O's management style and non-innovative culture. Third, Type 3 Group (Small Technology Intensive Group) tends to use focused innovative strategy and has a more innovative C.E.O's management style and innovative culture. Fourth, Type 4 Group (Non-Innovative Group) tends to use focused cost leadership strategy and has a more conservative C.E.O's management style and non-innovative culture.

호텔기업 종사원의 변혁적 리더십이 직무만족과 조직 동일시에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effects of Transformational Leadership on Employees Job Satisfaction & Organizational Identification in Korean Hotel Industry)

  • 본 연구는 변혁적 리더십의 구성요소들이 호텔 종사원의 직무만족과 조직동일시에 미치는 영향력을 분석하고 또한 인구통계학적 특성과 호텔이 가지고 있는 특징이 조절변수로서 변혁적 리더십에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하여 우리나라 호텔산업의 경영자 및 호텔 종사원들에게 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 하였다. 본 연구의 주요 분석 결과로는 첫째, 변혁적 리더십부문과 호텔 종사원의 직무만족부문 요인분석결과 변혁적 리더십부문에서는 총 18개의 변수들이 배려형 리더십 요인과 비전형 리더십 요인의 2개의 요인으로 추출되었으며, 호텔 종사원의 직무만족부문에서는 총 31개의 변수들이 '후생복지정책과 근무환경요인'.'능력의 발휘와 직무안정성 요인','동료관계와 직무수행 요인','회사정책적 요인' 등의 4개 요인으로 추출되었다. 둘째, 호텔기업에서 상사의 변혁적 리더십유형은 종사원의 직무만족과 조직동일시에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 가에 대하여 단계별 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 변혁적 리더십유형 중 호텔 종사원의 직무만족에 유의한영향을 미치는 것으로 나타난 것은 '비전형 리더십'요인이었고, 조직동일시에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타난 것은'비전형 리더십' 요인과 '배려형 리더십'요인 모두인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 변혁적 리더십유형과 인구통계학적 특성 및 인반적인 특성간 유의적인 차이를 알아보기 위하여 일원분산분석과 t-검증을 실시한 결과 소득수준과 현 직급, 근무년수, 호텔경영형태, 이직경험에서 통계적으로 유의적인 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
