This study conducted to identify the impact of organizational factors on the characteristics of category management system, market orientation and collaboration orientation, in domestic retail industry, and also to identify the relationship between organizational factors and category management system's characteristics varies depending on the business type, retailer and supplier. To accomplish these research purposes, the study performed statistical analyses using a total of 94 samples. The results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the organizational factors that affect market orientation of the category management system were found to be information technology infrastructure and organizational management system, and the organizational factors that affect collaborative orientation of the category management system were found to be partnerships and organizational management systems. Second, the relationship between market orientation and collaborative orientation of the category management system does not differ by the business type.
The category killer that has been rapidly growing mainly in advanced countries since early 1990's, is a mew distribution model which aims for obtaining market controlling power by surpassing competing businesses in a specific area of products. The domestic situation of category killers is very different from that of advanced ones abroad since it has just been introduced into the Korean market. At the moment, there are only 10 or so companies operating in the market : Geopyung's , Taeheng's , Midopa's , of Sinsegye Department store, adn of Yerim International. The purpose of this study is to examine problems of domestic companies in the present market by analysing the operation status of category killers in domestic markets as well as foreign ones, and to suggest a counter-strategy of category killers for the distribution environment of the 21st century to improve the competitiveness of Korean distribution industry. The competitiveness of category killers lies above all in products lines. Category killers are equipped with the greatest number of products lines among those of competing businesses due to maximized product selections in an limited range. Another source of competitiveness may be found in balanced strategy positioning. That is to say, category killers are in a position where they can adjust policies towards any of the three purposes while aiming at them altogether : prices of discount stores, products range of specialty stores, and customer service level of department stores. It is also necessary for efficient store operation to use information technology such as electronic data interchange (EDI), electronic pose system(EPOS) and electronic funds transfer (EFTPOS). As for the cost structure, category killers can gain an advantage over other business since operating cost of various sections can be saved. There are, however, certain risks that category killers with strong competitiveness may influence on other businesses a great deal and even facilitate their decline. Yet it seems that the growth of category killers will be more viciously restrained by continuous challenges from other businesses. The distribution industry is supposed to develop through such competition and restraint.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the musculoskeletal diseases (MSDs) that occur in heavy industrial workers according to the occupational category, prevalence, environment, and number of physical therapy visits. Design: Retrospective cohort study. Methods: For this study, data was collected of workers who were engaged in heavy industry in Korea and who visited the company physicians and received physical therapy in 2016. Data was collected from 855 subjects and was analyzed. With the data collected, analysis of the type and prevalence of MSDs and the number of physical therapy visits that have occurred according to the occupational category and environment was performed. Results: The most common MSDs were lumbar sprains and spasms (31.1%), and shoulder sprain and spasm (19.4%). In addition, the most common type of MSDs according to the occupational category and environment (occupational type) were lumbar sprain and spasms in 11 occupations, including white collar workers, and in milling, inspection, crane operation, and finishing jobs, shoulder muscle sprain and strain were the most common disorders. Also, the prevalence of MSDs according to occupational category and environment (occupational type) was the highest in workers involved with welding, which was 29.7%. Conclusions: Through this study, the type and prevalence of MSDs according to the occupational category and environment of heavy industrial workers have been confirmed. Further studies are necessary to study the future types of the work patterns of industrial workers and to develop a system for preventing and managing MSDs that may occur.
This study aims to suggest better future-oriented improvements by considering the traits and changes of the curriculum of the courses related to the field of fashion. To get the best results from the study, out of all the fashion-related majors (courses) from 4-year based universities in Korea, 65 was selected and divided into 24 courses in the category of clothing & textiles, 34 courses in the category of fashion design and 7 courses in the category of fashion industry in 7 universities, and their education goals and contents of the curriculum posted on the internet homepage of each university were analyzed. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, with the result from analyzing what the core terms have in common, which are used to express the educational purposes of fashion-related courses in Korea, the ideal type of talents that most of the fashion-related courses tend to pursue can be said to be those who are equipped with a sense of future-oriented creative direction and international communication capability, based on a multidisciplinary general capability, a professional executive ability, an information-analytic ability and an ability of planning, as well as in possession of a sense of beauty, creativity and a scientific mind. Secondly, with the traits of the curriculum of courses in each category, it was found that the category of clothing & textiles courses belongs to colleges of human ecology the most, and in terms of major subjects, the relative importance of clothing science seemed high compared to other school categories while the category of fashion design courses belongs to colleges of art, modeling or design the most, and in terms of major subjects, the scope of dress design appeared the widest, and finally the category of fashion industry courses belongs to colleges of natural science the most, and the relative importance of marketing seemed quite high. Moreover, with the result mentioned earlier, It was found that the names of departments and majors of fashion-related courses are differentiated, depending on what kind of college they belong to, and their curriculum have been differentiated to some degree accordingly. Thirdly, as shown above, Korean universities have attempted to make a lot of changes in the curriculum of fashion-related courses according to changes of the age, compared to what they did in the past, but they have still seemed to lack many things for the cultivation of talents fit for their educational purposes. Through the result from investigating both the changes of the current age and the directions in developing the curriculum, the study came to conclusion that each university in Korea should develop the major curriculum of fashion-related courses that are more sophisticated and intensive fit for the its department name and educational purposes.

The classification of the radiation work performed in Korean nuclear power plants (NPPs) must be understood to provide workers with more comprehensive radiation protection. This study used annual reports on occupational exposure to investigate and analyze the similarities and differences in the radiation work performed in Korean NPPs with pressurized water reactors (PWRs) and pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWRs). The results showed that the radiation work performed in Korean NPPs could be classified into three categories. Category 1 contains work at the highest level. This work can be divided into individual tasks belonging to Category 2, which enables the evaluation of the radiation dose during the work. The work in Category 2 consists of tasks from Category 3, which contains basic detailed tasks that are not further subdivided. This study emphasized the need for the systematic management of the radiation work performed in both Korean PWRs and PHWRs, such as the tasks in Category 3, which are similar, with similar working conditions, for PWRs and PHWRs. It also suggested the need to establish a list of radiation work for decommissioning because Kori Unit 1 and Wolsong Unit 1 are currently in permanent shutdown and preparations are being made for their decommissioning.
Product development and marketing that appeal to consumer emotions are important as shown by a variety of product and service industries that integrate fashion and arts into product design and marketing through collaboration. This study attempted to analyze the patterns in the collaborations of fashion and arts across industry disciplines. A total of 278 collaboration cases reported in news articles were collected from internet databases. Cases were categorized into 5 disciplines of fashion-fashion, arts-arts, fashion-arts, fashion-other industries, and arts-other industries, with each category analyzed in frequency distribution and collaboration type along with related partner and industry characteristics. Collaborations with other industries were observed more than internal ones, and individuals (rather than firms) were more involved in collaborations. Though the collaboration characteristics were different by partner category and sub-category, by individual or firm, and by related industries, a variety of collaborations integrating fashion and arts into product design and development, a new brand launching, product line extension, and co-marketing were observed across product and industry disciplines. The study also described fashion and arts that were integrated into consumer life styles.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits sought by luxury good customers contingent on product category, and to understand the relationship between the benefits sought and brand loyalty. A qualitative approach was used; therefore in-depth interviews were conducted with seven panels of professionals in the luxury industry. The findings are as follows: 1) Handbag customers mainly seek the social benefits in order to express their social status by purchasing well-known, easily-recognizable brands. 2) Shoe customers primarily seek the practical-functional benefits, which are comfort and function. 3) Small Leather Goods customers seek the social benefits for themselves and as gifts for others. 4) Brand loyalty for handbag customers is reported to be low, as their primary goals are the social benefits. Rather than devoting themselves to one specific brand, handbag customers prefer to purchase from various brands. 5) Shoe customers have reportedly higher brand loyalty, as they tend to come back to brands when they are satisfied with the benefits they pursue. The findings of this study provide more information on the practical implications of luxury good customer purchasing habits. Firstly, customers pursue different benefits depending on product category, and secondly, brand loyalty differs by customers' benefits.
Being in era of the digital economy, the impact of IT on our economy more and more increased. Along with this effect, IT becomes origin of predominance of competition in every category of industry. Regarding new trends in industry, companies have to mutate their IT skill set. Every industry has their color and environment of IT and uncertainty is different. For a company, it is most important to plan own strategy with strategy view on industrial environment. The idea of this study is to find the difference of Skill Requirement in every category of industry by find what are the most important jobs and skills of IT in every industry. We set skills by categorized curriculum of specialized IT education center, then with IT specialist, checked and retouched the results and surveyed with IT people in every industry on skill set and job of IT. The result of this study can gives the idea to who design curriculum and build educational contents that would fulfill the need of field. Also, this study would be meaningful that it opens the field of study of skill requirement in Korea.

After COVID-19, the number of people with sleep disorders around the world is increasing. In particular, in the flow of the 4th industrial revolution, the differentiation of types and characteristics of the sleep industry is accelerating. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of each type of sleep-related industry were reclassified from an industrial point of view, and based on this, an attempt was made to review the classification system that can help companies develop sleep products and improve related national systems. Based on the 10th standard industry classification, we compared input cost, value, and usability and analyzed common characteristics, treatments, and preventive effects based on this. A comprehensive taxonomy using matrix analysis was reviewed. As a result, in terms of cost (A), the most common sleeping products are general mattresses and general bedding. It is an IOT device (auxiliary device), and the value aspect (B, B/D) included sleep cafe, bedding rental and management service, and sleep consulting. In terms of utility (A/B), a total of 6 product groups including sleep aids (health functional foods) belong to this category, and in terms of treatment (A/C), a total of 3 product groups including sleep clinics (medical services) belong to this category. As for the product group (A/D) with both properties, it was found that non-insurance sleep treatment medical devices, sleep-related over-the-counter drugs, and some sleep monitoring applications belong to this category. Ultimately, it was found that the sleep industry classification enables the most active product development and composition according to the relative relationship between cost and utility, and treatment and utility. appeared to be necessary.
Occupational safety and health management expenses in the construction industry are statutory and separately included in the cost statement to prevent occupational accidents and health problems. The expenses are determined by multiplying the standard amount by the rate decided according to construction types and scales. However, the current expense appropriation method does not properly reflect the recent changes in the construction industry such as industry size, industry diversification, and social atmosphere about safety reinforcement. This study surveyed 1579 questionnaires in total and analyzed expense execution rate and proportion of each expense category. The expense execution rate was relative higher in complex construction (e.g., heavy construction = 126%, civil engineering = 125%) and long-period project (equal to or over 48 months construction = 133%) compared to general construction (98~116%) and short-period project (less than 48 months construction = 115%). The proportion of spending expenses was higher in the category of safety manager labor costs (25~52%), safety facility costs (22~40%), and personal protective equipment costs (10~25%). The analysis results of the study can be utilized in revising the standard expense appropriation method by reflecting the current usages of the occupational safety and health management expenses in the construction industry.
