  • During the past 100 years, Korean fisheries management policies have enforced the license system, it is the most typical regulation system in Korean fisheries. Even now, it has caused resource management failure, it has also invited economic inefficiency and inequity. Accordingly, the Korean government has recently introduced the self-regulatory management system for fishermen with the TAC system. These systems are one of the most market-oriented regulation systems in fisheries management systems. It is defined as regulatory policy tools other than regulations with command and control approach. It is also called “alternatives” which is composed of regulatory alternatives and non-regulatory alternatives. The self-regulatory management system and the ITQ system are cooperative-based co-management between government and fishermen as an alternative management strategy ; it is gaining the increasing attention to improve the effectiveness of fisheries management in Korea. It is expected not only to positively improve function in fisheries regulation, but also to decrease inefficiency in fisheries policies. However, these systems have many problems. The monopolization of rent is one of the typical examples. As solutions for the problem in the aspect of fishery management, fisheries policy is need of approach to industrial organization. For instance, Contestable market theory is one of the good theoretical background, it mean that market is able to free entry and free exit. Thus, fisheries management carry out policies such as revitalization of the used market of capital goods in fisheries, organize of the self-regulatory management group. Conclusively, as the exploiters and managers, fishers and the government should put emphasis on improving economic efficiency so that fishery would grow as an industry that contributes to the increase of social welfare, and the change to that direction will be the only way for our fisheries to preserve its importance.

  • As far as we handle industrial products, the painting process is prerequisite; and the preparatory treatment of materials is, therefore, indispensable to the above process. However, it is a matter for regret that people are liable to overlook the importance the treatment of materials at the preparatory stage, giving themselves up to the surface of finished goods. The preparatory treatment of materials is like backstage personnel (operations) in dramatic performance; the performance cannot be successful without the support of backstage operations in surface treatment. The various methods which are being applied widely as preparatory treatment are as follow: (1) the method by using hand tools such as grinders, etc. (2) the method with blasting (3) the method with chemical coating (4) the method by getting rid of fatty substance with organic solvent The methods No. 1 and No. 2 are in use mainly for larger structures, and those No. 3 and No. 4, either singly or combined, are applied for mass-produced, smaller items (acid cleaning is applied for getting rid of rust, as the case may be). The method No. 3 is used mainly as anti-rust by forming zinc phosphate film on the surface of steel plate or enhancing the bonding power of paints by taking advantage of irregular surfaces of films. Recently are no the market steel plates treated directly with film-coating by omitting the process No. 3. Furthermore, those goods painted include not only nonferrous goods but plastics and elastomer. The present discourse describes the cleaning process by using the steam of organic acid, picked up from among No. 4, and its equipment applied.

  • This paper analyzes the impact of CSR on the capital market in Korea. Using listed firm data, we found that the creation of a sustainability report that indirectly measures the level of CSR can bring the stock rate of return difference of the capital markets representative market index. First, when a firm that publishes a sustainability report was compared in terms of its market rate of return, it showed a return increase of about 2%. We found that higher returns were gained through the competitive advantage of related business when the firm was actively involved in social responsibility. Second, subdivided by industry, firms belonging to the capital goods industry were found to reach a rate of return higher than that of industry. These firms were noticeable in that they were mainly industries that caused environmental pollution. Third, in an additional analysis, foreign investors were given the sustainability report of financial businesses, which was interpreted as a result of industrial properties. A sustainability report is a comprehensive report on the economic, environmental, and social activities of a firm. Firms must learn that they can gain trust through publishing trustworthy reports while achieving the lasting power of growth from the stakeholders.

  • It is important to accurately analyze the various factors such as the local situation of the purchasable countries and the international situation in order to export defense industrial goods developed in Korea and to enter overseas markets based on the results. In the case of defense materials, unlike the civilian sector, there are a limited number of countries with high export potential. The detailed classification are shown below; The domestic products meet the general purpose just as that of the foreign products. Due to the adhesion technology, the domestic tennis shoes consist of rubber sole with natural leather upper; In fact, the desirable combination, as foreign products, must be polyurethane/natural leather. The expensive models were heavier than the less expensive ones. The greater weight difference of right and left shoes are shown in the expensive models than that of the less expensive ones. The moisture absorption ratio of the expensive model is far superior in comparison with the less expensive model. The reason is identified by the material supplyed to produce the expensive model consisted of the natural leather and proper parts. The abrasion resistance of the expensive models were excellent that of the less expensive ones, because the rubber soles were showed the properties better than polyurethane sole which was used in the less expensive model.
