Reproductive cycle, the condition index, sex ratio of the Pacific oysters, Crassostrea gigas were investigated by histological and morphometric data. The specimens were collected in the two oyster farms of Geoje and Namhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea, from November 1995 to October 1996. Growth of shell length in two regions was similar, but growth of total weight of the oyster in Namhae was faster than that in Geoje oyster farm. The spawning periods in female and male clams were from July to October in Geoje and from June to October in Namhae oyster farm. Ripe oocytes were approximately 50 m in diameter. The reproductive cycle of in females and males in Geoje and Namhae oyster farms can be divided into five successive stages: early developing, late developing, ripe, partially spawned and spent/inactive. Monthly changes in gonad developmental phases showed somewhat different patterns between female and male clams except for the spawning period. On the whole, however, monthly changes in the gonad developmental phases showed a similar pattern in the same sex. The sex ratios of females to males in Geoje and Namhae oyster farms were not significantly different from a 1:1 sex ratio ($x^2$ = 0.55 (p > 0.05) in Geoje and $x^2$ = 0.27 ( p > 0.05) in Namhae). Artificial induction of maturation by heating of adult oysters (two-year-old) was investigated from 17 January to 18 March in 1996. Maturity at the fixed water temperature group of $20^{\circ}C$ was 80%, it showed the highest maturity of experimental groups cultured for five weeks. The survival (%) of Crassostrea gigas in the raised water temperature experimental groups (15, 20, $25^{\circ}C$) were over 98.5%, as similar to the control group (100%). But, the survival of C. gigas in the fixed water temperature experimental groups (15, 20, 25, $30^{\circ}C$) were decreased with the increase of the water temperatures. In the fixed water temperature experimental group of $30^{\circ}C$, the survival was 51.1%. Base on these results, the fixed water temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ was the best condition for artificial induction of sexual maturation.
The small octopus(Octopus minor), a species in the cephalopod class spawns the fewer eggs compared with its relatives such as Octopus vulgaris and Octopus ocellatus and exerts special efforts in nursing eggs hiding in the deep cave beneath the mud flat. Correspondingly, its embryogenic process had been hardly observed. In this study, we induced the small octopus to spawn its eggs in the artificial spawning tube and to nurse the developing embryos under the periodical observation. The early embryogenic change in the fertilized eggs was appearance of blastodisc on the animal pole at 4 days after spawning. A mass of rudiments of several organs developed in the middle of the yolk sac at 28-th day and it moved gradually toward the animal pole. At 38 days after spawning, two eyes appeared on the head and the trunk with heart developed on the apical part of the yolk sac. At 45-th day of embryonic development, the trunk and head occupied a half of the egg capsule and consequently the yolk sac was reduced to a half of its original size. Two eyes became prominent at the bottom of the trunk with several spots at day 60. Embryonic development was completed at about 80 days after spawning and the arms stuffed the lower half of egg capsule. The young fry squeezed out of the egg capsules with their long and slender arms first and mantles later. Soon after hatching, it swam actively and squirted ink.
We studied spawning, hatching and larval growth of Amphiprion melanopus under laboratory conditions. Each time a fish spawned about 440 to 650 eggs. The eggs were hatched 9 days later. Nest colour of the eggs changed from clear yellow orange to greyish violet with processing of embryogenesis. With regard to spawning according to the substrates, the fish prefered red clay pot and ceramic pot to volcanic scoria and live rock. Hatching rate (%) of the eggs on the former substrates was significantly higher than that on the latter. The number of eggs varied with the food stuff supplied to the fish. The fish fed Tetra bits (commercial diet), meat of short necked clams and mussels, and astaxanthin showed significantly higher fecundity with 638 eggs than that fed only Tetra bits (477 eggs) or Tetra bits with meat of shellfish without astaxanthin ($549{\sim}553\;eggs$). Higher temperature ranging from 24 to $30^{\circ}C$ induced shorter incubation period and smaller total length, but higher hatching rate. The optimum salinity and L:D cycle with $60\;{\mu}mol$ photon $m^{-2}s^{-1}$ for hatching were 33 psu and 16:8, respectively. The newly hatched larvae about 4.6 mm in total length grew to 7.5 mm in one week, 18.8 mm in a month and 37.9 mm in 70 days after hatching.
Morphometrical data for diploid and induced triploid cherry salmon, Oncorhynchus masou were analyzed prior to the spawning season to compare their commercial values. The following traits were measured with the diploids and induced triploids : ungutted and gutted body weight; body length; dressing percentage; condition factor; gonad weight and gonad index; belly thickness; viscera weight; viscera index; body circumference at the pelvic, dorsal and anal fins; area of the cross sections at the pelvic and dorsal fins; two belly thickness traits measured on each cross section; total height, height and width of each cross section; three body shape traits; and nine cross section shape traits. Body length and body weight of diploids were larger than those of induced triploids and dressing percentage, gonad weight, gonad index, viscera index, and liver index were also larger in diploids. However, induced triploids showed higher values in one belly thickness trait and some section shapes than diploids. Differences in body traits were due to the sterility of induced triploids. Therefore, induced triploid cherry salmon appears to have greater potentials for the commercial values than their diploids.
Triploid cherry salmon (Oncorhynchus masou) were induced by the heat shocking treatment of fertilized eggs 10 minutes post fertilization at $28^{\circ}C$ for 15 minutes. Haematological and physiological characteristics of diploid and the induced triploid fish were examined just before the spawning period. Triploids had significantly lower concentrations of circulating red blood cells than that of diploids (P<0.01). However, oxygen consumption, hematocrit, hemoglobin, RBC, and mean concentration of hemoglobin within the RBC of triploids were higher than those of diploids. The concentrations of total protein, albumin and cholesterol from triploids were also higher than those from diploids.

The giant croaker, Nibea japonica is a large, estuarine sciaenid distributed around southem Korea and Japan. In Repubic of Korea, giant croaker is a highly desired commercial and recreational species and there is interest in develoment of techniques for production of fish for enhancement of wildstocks and aquaculture since the giant croaker possesses some desirable characteristics for aquaculture including tolerance to widely varying salinities and receptivity to induced spawning in captivity. (omitted)
In order to improve top shell seed production techniques spawning and larvae rearing were done in rearing tanks. Growth of young top shell in the nursing ground were also investigated. For induced spawning, top shells were maintained in still water during night time. Then they were treated with ultra violet iradiated sea water after dried up in air for 60 minutes. Spawning rate were 10 to $39.77\%$. It was found that young top shells moved in the growing grounds from nursing grounds when they reached approximately 30-40mm in shell heignt. Among main food algae for top shell in the natural growing grounds, sea mustard were melted away during June. Therefore, presence of another food algae such as Ecklonia cava or Sargassum spp. seems to be the main limiting factor for survival of top shell during summer. The tolerance of top shells ranging from 30mm to 60mm to low density of seawater for were tested at the temperature between 29.5 and $31.4^{\circ}C$. Hundred percent mortality occoured in 20, 55 and 90 hours after first stocking at the specific gravity of 1.010, 1.015, and 1.020, respectively.

This research has carried out to make a data base of taxonomic research. That Data base explains about spawning behavior, egg development, and morphologic development of variable sabretooth blenny. Fertilized egg was demersal egg which is white and opaque. The number of oil glouble were 10~11, and the size of egg was 0.90~1.43 mm (average rate $1.11{\pm}0.23mm$, n=10). Breeding water temperature was $25.5{\sim}28.5^{\circ}C$ (average rate $27.0^{\circ}C$), and salinity was 32.5~33.5‰ (average rate 33.0‰). After 24 hours from 2 cells, the process of egg development was reached to Blastula stage. Moreover, after 330 hours from 2 cells, nostrils and eyes were formed. Egg membrane was pierced by the head, and the hatch began. After the hatch, postlarvae had 2.59~3.02 mm (average rate $2.81{\pm}0.25mm$, n=5) of whole length, and the mouth and anus were opened. Yolk sac and oil glouble were absorbed. After three days from hatch, prelarvae were 3.02~3.07mm(average rate $3.04{\pm}0.04mm$) of whole length, and caudal fin was grown with round shape. After 13 days from hatch, prelarvae had 3.04~3.20 mm (average rate $3.12{\pm}0.11mm$) of whole length, and they could eat food with upper jaw and bottom jaw.
Ovulation of maturing femal mandarin fish, Siniperca scherzeri was induced using single injection of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) or gonadotropin releasing hormone-analogue (GnRH-a), GnRH-a plus prostaglandin F2 (PG$F_2$) or GnRH-a plus pimozide. The response was evaluated by fertilization, embryo-formation and hatching rate after insemination. Those rates were generally higher in GnRH-a group than in HCG group. The higher hatching rat of above 89% was achived using a dosage of 5,000 IU/kg HCG plus 10 ${\mu}$g/kg GnRH-a, 10${\mu}$g/kg GnRH-a plus 500 ng/kg PGF2, and 10 ug/kg GnRH-a plus 1-5 mg/kg pimozide. Ovulation was induced in all female injected with sex-maturation hormones and stimulator, but blocked in female injected with HCG plus GnRH-a plus dopamine combination, and GnRH-a plus PGF2 plus indometacin combination. These results show that the mandarin fish in spawning period secrete a sex-mutruation assosiated hormones and gonadotropin-releasing -inhibiting factor(GRIF).
To study the effect of salinity on maturation and spawning, two series of experiments were carried out during November, 1998- July, 1999 and January, 1999- March 2000. In the first series, the control group (C) was reared at 14.3$^{\circ}C$ and 35.1$\textperthousand$ S, but the experimental group was reared at 33.8$\textperthousand$ S. In the second series, they were also exposed to approximately the same temperature but the experimental group was reared at still lowered salinity of 2p.6$\textperthousand$. Survival, food intake and growth of the experimental groups in either series reared at lower salinities were higher than those of their respective control groups. At lower salinity, larger number of females attained spontaneous sexual maturity and successfully spawned. Hatching success of the eggs spawned by the experimental females reared at lower salinities was also higher (54-56$\textperthousand$) than that (~19%) of the control group reared at higher salinity.
