난방주체 운전모드에서의 동시냉난방 열펌프 성능향상에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Performance Improvement of a Simultaneous Heating and Cooling Heat Pump in the Heating-main Operating Mode)

  • The cooling load in winter is significant in buildings and hotels because of the usage of office equipments and the high efficiency of wall insulation. Hence, the development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, the operating characteristics and performance of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump in the heating-main operating mode were investigated experimentally. The system adopted a variable speed compressor with four indoor units and one outdoor unit with R-410A. In the heating-main mode, the cooling capacity was lower than the design cooling capacity due to the reduction of the flow rate in the indoor unit for the cooling, with the increase of the heating capacity. To solve these problems, the performance characteristics of the simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump in the heating-main mode were investigated by varying the flow rate to the indoor unit for the cooling and the compressor rotating speed. In addition, the adequate control methods were suggested to improve the system efficiency.

다가구주택 반지하세대의 실내공기질 실태 및 영향요인 분석 (An analysis of the Influencing Factors and Actual State of Indoor Air Quality in Semi-underground Multi-family Housing Units)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the actual state of indoor air quality in semi-underground multi-family housing units in early summer, to analyze the influencing factors, and to make suggestions for improvement. A series of field investigations were conducted in four target units between June 22, 2010, and June 28, 2010. The field investigations included measurements of indoor air quality as well as the observation of architectural characteristics and living conditions. In addition to the field investigation, on-site questionnaire surveys were administrated to residents in 90 units. The findings are summarized as follows: (1) The average $CO_2$ levels in each of the four units ranged from 759ppm to 1885ppm. $CO_2$ levels in three units exceeded the evaluation standard (1000ppm), and one unit was lower than the standard. This unit had smaller number of staying person and a large amount of ventilation than others; (2) the average CO levels in each unit were almost 0ppm, but 0.1~1.1 levels of CO were revealed at several times; (3) the average PM-10 levels ranged from $8{\mu}g/m^3$ to $40{\mu}g/m^3$, which distributes within the standard ($150{\mu}g/m^3$). The influencing factors of PM-10 levels were analyzed as inflow from outside, the use of a gas range, and the residents' activities; (4) therefore, it was evaluated to be necessary to improve ventilation for the indoor air quality of semi-underground housing in aspect of $CO_2$ levels.

  • IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit) 센서의 가속도와 각속도를 이용하여 거리측정을 하고 측정값을 이용하여 사용자가 원하는 실내공간에 적용하여 사용자 혹은 디바이스가 실내공간을 인식하는 교육용 장비를 소개한다. 본 교육장비를 이용해서 다양한 위치 인식 및 추적 알고리즘을 학습할 수 있고 창의적 공학설계 작품을 구현할 수 있다. IMU 센서의 데이터 값을 $I^2C$(Inter-Integrated Circuit)을 통해 MCU(microcontroller unit)에 전송하고 필터와 연산방식을 통해 데이터 값을 처리 후 실내 위치 인식 알고리즘을 통해 위치인식을 한다. 그리고 무선통신을 이용하여 처리된 값을 송수신하여 사용자가 인식하도록 설계한다. 본 교육 장비를 이용하여 "IMU센서를 이용하여 이동거리를 산출과 데이터 값을 이용한 가상공간 구현 및 인식"의 사례를 소개하고 그 설계를 기반하여 다양한 창의적 공학설계 적용에 대해서 논한다.

고등학교 기숙사 주거시설에 대한 사용자 만족도 - 개인공간 단위실을 중심으로 - (Users' Satisfaction on the Dormitory of High School in Jeonju City)

  • This study was to find out users' satisfaction on the dormitory of high school in Jeonju City and to propose it's physical environmental improvement directions. This was performed by a questionnaire survey method, and the questionnaire was designed by researchers considering relative literatures. Data were collected from 200 students, who had been dwelling 4 high school dormitories in Jeonju City. By analyzing those data, findings were as follows: 1) Users of students were satisfied the whole of their dormitory; facilities, spaces, and living. 2) They were highly concerned about a library and a personal unit space in their dormitory. 3) They needed their personal unit space to be designed bedroom+bathroom type with 2 persons' sharing and be equipped one story bed and desk furniture. Also, they needed improvement on heating & cooling, small space and indoor air quality of unit space. 4) The users' satisfaction on unit space were 2.88, and their satisfaction of the technical factor was 2.71 that was the lowest score in them. And The functional factor was highly effected their satisfaction. 5) The space utility and the space size of functional factor, the soundproof, the heating/ventilation and the indoor quality of technical factor, and the privacy of behavior factor were highly correlative to their satisfaction of unit space.

PIV 유동 계측을 통한 천장형 실내기의 최적 제어 설계 (Optimal Flow Control of Ceiling Type Indoor Unit by PIV Measurements)

  • A heating flow discharged from a 4-way ceiling type indoor unit has been investigated to determine the design parameters for the optimal flow control. The flow was measured by a PIV(particle image velocimetry) system and an experimental model of 1/10 scale with a transparent room was devised by satisfying the Archimedes number. This similarity is generally used in cases where the forced convection has similar magnitude of the natural convection. To optimize the heating flow, several vane angles and vane control algorithms of cross and right angle controls were considered. Regarding the vane angle, experimental results show that 30$^{\circ}$is an optimal angle to avoid re-suction flows without significant increase in flow noise. Temperature distribution measured in the environmental chamber ensures the increased thermal comfort when compared to the case, 60$^{\circ}$angle. At the optimal angle, applying open/close control gives rise to more uniform distribution of the heating flow than without control. Especially, the cross-control seems to be satisfactory for thermal comfort.

  • This study is undertaken to evaluate the relationship between the indoor $CO_2$ concentration and the local mean air-age in the lecture room with the occupants. We conducted the experiments to examine the indoor $CO_2$ concentration and the local mean air-age with respect to the supply airflow of the ventilation system and the discharge angle and air-flow of the system air conditioner. Through the experiments, we found out that indoor $CO_2$ concentrations calculated by the prediction equation of Seidel are about 350 ppm lower than those measured by the experiments. The indoor $CO_2$ concentration is not related with the air-flow and the discharge angle of the system air-conditioner, but with the ventilation airflow. From the numerical calculation, the indoor $CO_2$ concentration is not related with the ventilation effectiveness, but strongly with the local mean air-age. In case of our model, the indoor $CO_2$ concentration is likely to fall within the acceptable air quality when the local mean air-age is averagely predicted under 400 seconds.

  • With the development of mobile internet, requirements of positioning accuracy for the LBS (Location Based Service) are becoming more and more higher. The LBS is based on the position of each mobile device. So, it requires a proper acquisition of accurate user's indoor position. Thus indoor positioning technology and its accuracy is crucial for various LBS. In general, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) measurements are used to obtain the position information of mobile unit under WLAN environment. However, indoor positioning error increases as multiple AP's configurations are becoming more complex. To overcome this problem, an enhanced indoor localization method by AP (Access Point) selection criteria adopting DOP (Dilution of Precision) is proposed.

지하주거의 실내공기환경 실태조사와 CO2 조절기 및 타이머에 의한 환기팬 자동운전에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Actual Conditions of Indoor Air Quality of Underground Dwellings and the Automatic Ventilating Fan Operated by CO2 Controller and Timer)

  • The rapid urbanization after 1970s caused the shortage of dwellings in urban areas. As the result, the underground dwellings were developed to compensate for the insufficient dwelling spaces. While the underground dwellings have some advantage in the respect of thermal and acoustic environment, they usually have the basic problems in the indoor air quality because of the lack of natural ventilation through small window areas. The purpose of this study is to investigate and to improve the indoor air quality of underground dwellings. Thirty Units in Seoul and Gyung-Gi Province were investigated into the indoor environmental conditions. For the purpose of the improvement of their indoor air quality, Automatically-operated ventilating fan was installed in a sample unit which has worst indoor environmental condition. Then the indoor air quality was monitored when it was operated by $CO_2$ control system and timer. Finally economic feasibility study was made considering the effect of the improvement of indoor air quality. The extra cost for installing timer could be paid back only in 10 months, so timer-installed automatic fan is recommended to improve the indoor air quality of underground dwellings.

  • Inverter-Type refrigerators are known to consume less energy by varying the inverter frequency according to indoor temperatures and refrigerant pressure through indoor-outdoor communication. However, many commercial operators cannot afford to replace indoor units with ones capable of communication. In a non-communication configuration, indoor units are connected with an inverter-type outdoor unit without intercommunication abilities. The research goal is finding appropriate operating parameters to achieve energy efficiency. Thus, an operation algorithm with two modes is proposed, i.e., one to search the best operating parameters and one for normal operation with the best parameters. The experimental evaluation showed 11.27% reduction in energy consumption, indicating a good applicability of the algorithm.
