Learning Context Awareness Model based on User Feedback for Smart Home Service

  • IRecently, researches on the recognition of indoor user situations through various sensors in a smart home environment are under way. In this paper, the case study was conducted to determine the operation of the robot vacuum cleaner by inferring the user 's indoor situation through the operation of home appliances, because the indoor situation greatly affects the operation of home appliances. In order to collect learning data for indoor situation awareness model learning, we received feedbacks from user when there was a mistake about the cleaning situation. In this paper, we propose a semi-supervised learning method using user feedback data. When we receive a user feedback, we search for the labels of unlabeled data that most fit the feedbacks collected through genetic algorithm, and use this data to learn the model. In order to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, we performed a comparison experiments with other learning algorithms in the same environment and confirmed that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than the other algorithms.

  • In modem buildings, the concept of open-space plan gets more acceptance as it supports more flexibility for the internal space design. This open-space can be easily subdivided by internal partitioning to provide each individual working zone. Although the partitioning forms each physical working zone, its indoor environment could be different Iron what the occupants require.   • This paper presents the pose estimation of a small UAV utilizing visual information from low cost cameras installed indoor. To overcome the limitation of the outside flight experiment, the indoor flight test environment based on multi-camera systems is proposed. Computer vision algorithms for the proposed system include camera calibration, color marker detection, and pose estimation. The well-known extended Kalman filter is used to obtain an accurate position and pose estimation for the small UAV. This paper finishes with several experiment results illustrating the performance and properties of the proposed vision-based indoor flight test environment.

  • In this paper, we propose a method using an image received by the depth camera in order to separate the wall in a three-dimensional space indoor environment. Results of the paper may be used to provide valuable information on the three-dimensional space. For example, they may be used to recognize the indoor space, to detect adjacent objects, or to project a projector on the wall. The proposed method first detects a normal vector at each point by using the three dimensional coordinates of points. The normal vectors are then clustered into several groups according to similarity. The RANSAC algorithm is applied to separate out planes. The domain knowledge helps to determine the wall among planes in an indoor environment. This paper concludes with experimental results that show performance of the proposed method in various experimental environment.

  • To reduce the energy consumption of HVAC system in buildings, thermally activated building system(TABS) has been applied to low energy building because of energy efficient performance and reduction of peak load. DOAS coupled with a parallel sensible cooling could be promising because TABS handles sensible heat load only. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the indoor thermal environment and cooling operation characteristic of TABS with dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS) in Korea climate. Indoor thermal environment and operation characteristic of TABS integrated with DOAS are investigated at different TABS operation schedules and climate conditions by simulation tests. The result shows that the DOAS is more suitable for hot and humid climates. And also it show that the potential of intermittent operation of TABS.

  • In realization of wireless home network system using speech recognition in indoor voice recognition environment, background noise and reverberation are two main causes of digression in voice recognition system. In this study, the home network system resistant to reverberation and background noise using voice section detection method based on spectral entropy in indoor recognition environment is to be realized. Spectral subtraction can reduce the effect of reverberation and remove noise independent from voice signal by eliminating signal distorted by reverberation in spectrum. For effective spectral subtraction, the correct separation of voice section and silent section should be accompanied and for this, improvement of performance needs to be done, applying to voice section detection method based on entropy. In this study, experimental and indoor environment testing is carried out to figure out command recognition rate in indoor recognition environment. The test result shows that command recognition rate improved in static environment and reverberant room condition, using voice section detection method based on spectral entropy.

  • The autonomous driving drones experimented in the existing indoor corridor environment was a way to give the steering command to the drones by the neural network operation of the notebook due to the limitation of the operation performance of the drones. In this paper, to overcome these limitations, we have studied autonomous driving in indoor corridor environment using NVIDIA Jetson TX2 board.

  • This paper proposes how to improve the performance of CSS-based indoor localization system. CSS based localization utilizes signal flight time between anchors and tag to estimate distance. From the distances, the 3-dimensional position is calculated through trilateration. However the error in distance caused from multi-path effect transfers to the position error especially in indoor environment. This paper handles a problem of reducing error in raw distance information. And, we propose the new localization method by pattern matching instead of the conventional localization method based on trilateration that is affected heavily on multi-path error. The pattern matching method estimates the position by using the fact that the measured data of near positions possesses a high similarity. In order to gain better performance of localization, we use EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) to fuse the result of CSS based localization and robot model.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient indoor environment management system which provides the environment management service in ubiquitous computing environment. It is designed to gather data from the user's environment and keep it pleasant with respect to indoor air quality regulation. In order to offer such service Ubiquitous Computing Environment used distributed framework based on the active model for its development and support, while supporting service integration and also we used service oriented architecture. In order to verify the performance of the environment management system, components showed operation while environment management service showed the result through GUI screen.

  • During the last decade, an increasing interest in Underfloor Air-Conditioning(UFAC) systems has emerged. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate comprehensively the indoor environmental performance of office buildings with UFAC system in order to develope the design prototype of this system. In this paper, the physical measurements and the interviewing survey of occupant's sensation responses to the environment were carried out. Measurements and survey were made of the thermal environmental factors such as air temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, globe temperature, and the other several environmental factors such as the sound level and the illuminance of working plane, etc. And, the air quality was evaluated by measuring the concentration of suspended particles, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide in the room. Furthermore, the paper appraises the various indoor environmental factors of the room by using post-occupancy evaluation(POE) method in office building with UFAC system, and thus, it suggests the basic data for assessing the indoor comfort based on field measurements and survey.
