New incremental learning algorithm using extended data expression, based on probabilistic compounding, is presented in this paper. Incremental learning algorithm generates an ensemble of weak classifiers and compounds these classifiers to a strong classifier, using a weighted majority voting, to improve classification performance. We introduce new probabilistic weighted majority voting founded on extended data expression. In this case class distribution of the output is used to compound classifiers. UChoo, a decision tree classifier for extended data expression, is used as a base classifier, as it allows obtaining extended output expression that defines class distribution of the output. Extended data expression and UChoo classifier are powerful techniques in classification and rule refinement problem. In this paper extended data expression is applied to obtain probabilistic results with probabilistic majority voting. To show performance advantages, new algorithm is compared with Learn++, an incremental ensemble-based algorithm.

Speech signal has the features of speakers. In this paper, we propose the speaker identification system which use the incremental learning based on neural network. Recorded speech signal through the Mic is passed the end detection and is divided voiced signal and unvoiced signal. The extracted 12 order cpestrum are used the input data for neural network. Incremental learning is the learning algorithm that the learned weights are remembered and only the new weights, that is created as adding new speaker, are trained. The architecture of neural network is extended with the number of speakers. So, this system can learn without the restricted number of speakers.
Incremental learning generally reduces training time and increases the generalization of a neural network by selecting training data incrementally during the training. However, the existing methods of incremental learning repeatedly evaluate the importance of training data every time they select additional data. In this paper, an incremental learning algorithm is proposed for pattern classification problems. It evaluates the importance of each piece of data only once before starting the training. The importance of the data depends on how close they are to the decision boundary. The current paper presents an algorithm which orders the data according to their distance to the decision boundary by using clustering. Experimental results of two artificial and real world classification problems show that this proposed incremental learning method significantly reduces the size of the training set without decreasing generalization performance.
We usually suffer from difficulties in treating or managing Big Data generated from various digital media and/or sensors using traditional mining techniques. Additionally, there are many problems relative to the lack of memory and the burden of the learning curve, etc. in an increasing capacity of large volumes of text when new data are continuously accumulated because we ineffectively analyze total data including data previously analyzed and collected. In this paper, we propose a general-purpose classifier and its structure to solve these problems. We depart from the current feature-reduction methods and introduce a new scheme that only adopts changed elements when new features are partially accumulated in this free-style learning environment. The incremental learning module built from a gradually progressive formation learns only changed parts of data without any re-processing of current accumulations while traditional methods re-learn total data for every adding or changing of data. Additionally, users can freely merge new data with previous data throughout the resource management procedure whenever re-learning is needed. At the end of this paper, we confirm a good performance of this method in data processing based on the Big Data environment throughout an analysis because of its learning efficiency. Also, comparing this algorithm with those of NB and SVM, we can achieve an accuracy of approximately 95% in all three models. We expect that our method will be a viable substitute for high performance and accuracy relative to large computing systems for Big Data analysis using a PC cluster environment.

We have witnessed the rapid development of information technology in recent years. One of the key phenomena is the fast, near-exponential increase of data. Consequently, most of the traditional data classification methods fail to meet the dynamic and real-time demands of today's data processing and analyzing needs--especially for continuous data streams. This paper proposes an improved incremental learning algorithm for a large-scale data stream, which is based on SVM (Support Vector Machine) and is named DS-IILS. The DS-IILS takes the load condition of the entire system and the node performance into consideration to improve efficiency. The threshold of the distance to the optimal separating hyperplane is given in the DS-IILS algorithm. The samples of the history sample set and the incremental sample set that are within the scope of the threshold are all reserved. These reserved samples are treated as the training sample set. To design a more accurate classifier, the effects of the data volumes of the history sample set and the incremental sample set are handled by weighted processing. Finally, the algorithm is implemented in a cloud computing system and is applied to study user behaviors. The results of the experiment are provided and compared with other incremental learning algorithms. The results show that the DS-IILS can improve training efficiency and guarantee relatively high classification accuracy at the same time, which is consistent with the theoretical analysis.
In this paper, we propose the speaker identification system that uses vowel that has speaker's characteristic. System is divided to speech feature extraction part and speaker identification part. Speech feature extraction part extracts speaker's feature. Voiced speech has the characteristic that divides speakers. For vowel extraction, formants are used in voiced speech through frequency analysis. Vowel-a that different formants is extracted in text. Pitch, formant, intensity, log area ratio, LP coefficients, cepstral coefficients are used by method to draw characteristic. The cpestral coefficients that show the best performance in speaker identification among several methods are used. Speaker identification part distinguishes speaker using Neural Network. 12 order cepstral coefficients are used learning input data. Neural Network's structure is MLP and learning algorithm is BP (Backpropagation). Hidden nodes and output nodes are incremented. The nodes in the incremental learning neural network are interconnected via weighted links and each node in a layer is generally connected to each node in the succeeding layer leaving the output node to provide output for the network. Though the vowel extract and incremental learning, the proposed system uses low learning data and reduces learning time and improves identification rate.

In this paper, we propose the speaker identification system that uses the incremental learning based on neural network. Recorded speech signal through the microphone is blocked to the frame of 1024 speech samples. Energy is divided speech signal to voiced signal and unvoiced signal. The extracted 12 orders LPC cpestrum coefficients are used with input data for neural network. The speakers are identified with the speaker identification system using the neural network. The neural network has the structure of MLP which consists of 12 input nodes, 8 hidden nodes, and 4 output nodes. The number of output node means the identified speakers. The first output node is excited to the first speaker. Incremental learning begins when the new speaker is identified. Incremental learning is the learning algorithm that already learned weights are remembered and only the new weights that are created as adding new speaker are trained. It is learning algorithm that overcomes the fault of neural network. The neural network repeats the learning when the new speaker is entered to it. The architecture of neural network is extended with the number of speakers. Therefore, this system can learn without the restricted number of speakers.
Latent topic models are statistical models which automatically captures salient patterns or correlation among features underlying a data collection in a probabilistic way. They are gaining an increased popularity as an effective tool in the application of automatic semantic feature extraction from text corpus, multimedia data analysis including image data, and bioinformatics. Among the important issues for the effectiveness in the application of latent topic models to the massive data set is the efficient learning of the model. The paper proposes an accelerated learning technique for PLSA model, one of the popular latent topic models, by an incremental EM algorithm instead of conventional EM algorithm. The incremental EM algorithm can be characterized by the employment of a series of partial E-steps that are performed on the corresponding subsets of the entire data collection, unlike in the conventional EM algorithm where one batch E-step is done for the whole data set. By the replacement of a single batch E-M step with a series of partial E-steps and M-steps, the inference result for the previous data subset can be directly reflected to the next inference process, which can enhance the learning speed for the entire data set. The algorithm is advantageous also in that it is guaranteed to converge to a local maximum solution and can be easily implemented just with slight modification of the existing algorithm based on the conventional EM. We present the basic application of the incremental EM algorithm to the learning of PLSA and empirically evaluate the acceleration performance with several possible data partitioning methods for the practical application. The experimental results on a real-world news data set show that the proposed approach can accomplish a meaningful enhancement of the convergence rate in the learning of latent topic model. Additionally, we present an interesting result which supports a possible synergistic effect of the combination of incremental EM algorithm with parallel computing.
Typical anomaly detection algorithms are trained by using prior data. Thus the batch learning based algorithms cause inevitable performance degradation when characteristics of newly incoming normal data change over time. We propose an online anomaly detection algorithm which can consider the gradual characteristic changes of incoming normal data. The proposed algorithm based on one-class classification model includes both offline and online learning procedures. In offline learning procedure, the algorithm learns the prior data to be close to centroid of the latent space and then updates the centroid of the latent space incrementally by new incoming data. In the online learning, the algorithm continues learning by using the updated centroid. Through experiments using public underwater acoustic data, the proposed online anomaly detection algorithm takes only approximately 2 % additional learning time for the incremental centroid update and learning. Nevertheless, the proposed algorithm shows 19.10 % improvement in Area Under the receiver operating characteristic Curve (AUC) performance compared to the offline learning model when new incoming normal data comes.

An 'associative cube', a class of auto-associative memories, is revisited here, in which training data and hidden orthogonal basis functions such as wavelet packets or Fourier kernels, are combined in the weight cube. This weight cube has hidden units in its depth, represented by a three dimensional cubic structure. We develop an unsupervised incremental learning mechanism based upon the adaptive least squares method. Training data are mapped into orthogonal basis vectors in a least-squares sense by updating the weights which minimize an energy function. Therefore, a prescribed orthogonal kernel is incrementally assigned to an incoming data. Next, we show how a decoding procedure finds the closest one with a competitive network in the hidden layer. As noisy test data are applied to an associative cube, the nearest one among the original training data are restored in an optimal sense. The simulation results confirm robustness of associative cubes even if test data are heavily distorted by various types of noise.
