  • Korean government decided to give a subsidy for renewable energy system of green home. This policy will make an appeal to consumers. But For success of this policy, Economic benefit of consumer is essential. In this study, benefit and cost is seperated to consumer part and government part, respectively. consumer's benefit is energy saving and asset value increment. Consumer's cost is real input money except government's subsidy. Government's benefit is consist of energy import reduction, carbon discharge reduction and new production increment, As a result, the government subsidy will not so enough to activate the green home. PV system for the korean general apartment has the payback period of 19 years. So, For the dissemination of renewable energy of green home, more strong subsidy policy and more economic technoloy development is requested.

  • In this paper, the wind tunnel test was carried to investigate the behavior of buffer layer in turbulent boundary layer with variation of surface temperature and roughness. The results were as follows; 1. The velocity in turbulent boundary layer was increased when the roughness height within viscous sublayer thickness was increased. 2. When the surface temperature was increased, the density of air was decreased and the velocity in turbulent boundary layer was increased. Thus, the thickness of turbulent boundary layer was decreased. 3. When the roughness height and surface temperature was increased simultaneously, the thickness of turbulent boundary layer was decreased. 4. The decrement of the thickness of turbulent boundary layer was more effected by the increment of the roughness height rather than the increment of surface temperature. 5. In this study, it was found that the condition of the highest velocity n turbulent boundary layer was the temperature 333K and roughness #100.

  • An experiment using preheated air in the coaxial diffusion flame burner was carried out in order to decrease NOx emission and improve the thermal efficiency. Preheated air combustion generally produces high NOx emissions but it was known very well to reduce NOx emission by diluting the combustion air with inert gas in preheated air combustion. In our study, $N_2$ gas was used for diluent and propane was utilized for fuel. We set the combustion air temperature on 300K, 500K, 700K, 900K and dilution level from 21% to 10% in terms of oxygen concentration. NOx emission increased along increment of combustion air temperature and decreased along increment of dilution level(lowering of oxygen concentration in combustion air). Flame-off limit with dilution level enhanced, flame length became longer and the location of maximum flame temperature became lower with increasing of combustion air temperature.

  • Total body oxygen uptake was measured in rats following hemorrhage (16 rats) and blood transfusion (7 rats) under light Nembutal anesthesia. Arterial blood Pressure measured on the tail artery decreased or increased following hemorrhage or transfusion. No direct relationship was observed between arterial blood pressure alteration and oxygen intake variation. Hematocrit ratio which changed after hemorrhage or transfusion showed a direct relationship with oxygen intake. Decrease in hematocrit ratio resulted in a decrease in oxygen intake of rats. The correlation coefficient between decrement of hematocrit ratio and decrement of oxygen intake was r=.56. The correlation coefficient between increment of hematocrit ratio and increment of oxygen intake was r=.86. Thus it was concluded that alteration in oxygen intake was limited by the systemic oxygen transport capacity of blood.

  • An Experimental study on the characteristics of high pressure gas quenching system was carried out in the present study. The characteristics of gas quenching system have been studied with high pressure gas chamber and specimen for various gas pressure and velocity which are the design parameter of quenching system. The quenching gas was used compressed air which properties are very similar with Nitrogen gas usually used in industrial gas quenching system. The result shows that the quenching rate of mid surface of specimen is lower than each ends of them which are close to low temperature quenching surface. And to increases the quenching intensity, the increment of quenching gas pressure is more efficient than the increment of quenching gas velocity at the point of reducing the circulation fan power.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of selenium supplementation of iron accumulation of rats fed diets containing high levels or iron. Sixty male Sprague-Dawley weaning rats were fed with diets containing various levels of iron(adequate : 35ppm, 2-fold : 70ppm, 4-fold : 140ppm) and selenium(adequat : 0.05ppm and high : 0.05ppm) for 12 weeks. Feed intakes of 2-fold and 4-fold iron groups were higher than that of adequate iron group. There was no difference body weight gain across iron and selenium containing diet groups. Hemoglobin level was increasd with iron increment and decreased with selenium supplementation. Iron contents in serum and tissues were increased as iron intake was increased. Liver iron content was decreased with selenium supplementation. Selenium content in liver was decreased with iron increment and increased with selenium supplementation. In the case of iron balance, iron excretion through urine and feces was significantly increased as iron intake was increased. However, apparent absorbability and retention rate of iron were not significantly affected by dietary iron or selenium.

  • Composite insulating materials used in outdoor high voltage equipment are required to have high electric performance because of the miniaturization. The frequence dependence of the permittivity and the loss tangent have important information. In this paper we describe the frequency dependence of the permittivity and the loss tangent for epoxy resin filled with silica and the influence of filler shape on the dielectric properties. The increment of tan $\delta$ in the low frequency region is caused by the increment of both of the electrical conductivity and the polarization due to the shape of filler and water sbsorbed in and near the interface between the fillers and resins. Result of charge current and discharge measure, electric conduction increased according to voltage.

  • The purpose of this work is to investigate the fundamental properties of the gradual muscle force potentiation for the prediction of muscle force and body movement from the stimulation input with musculo-skeletal model. We investigated the dependence of force potentiation on both the pulse-amplitude and the pulse-duration. The experimental result showed that the force increment ratio during electrical stimulation decreased with pulse-amplitude. The force increment ratio decreased with short pulse-duration and was maintained to be constant with pulse-duration longer than $500{\mu}s$. A new model of the muscle potentiation based on these results is desired in the future.

  • Geostatistical data among spatial data is analyzed in three stages: (1) variogram estimation, (2) model fitting for the estimated variograms and (3) spatial prediction using the fitted variogram model. It is very important to estimate the variograms properly as the first stage(i.e., variogram estimation) affects the next two stages. In general, the variogram is estimated with the moment estimator. To estimate the variogram, we have to decide the 'lag increment' or the 'number of lags'. However, there is no established rule for selecting the number of lags in estimating the variogram. The present paper proposes a method of choosing the optimal number of lags based on the PRESS statistic. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we perform a small simulation study and show an empirical example with with air pollution data from Korea.
