With the development of fast construction mode in shipbuilding market, the demand on accuracy management of hull is becoming higher and higher in shipbuilding industry. In order to enhance production efficiency and reduce manufacturing cycle time in shipbuilding industry, it is important for shipyards to have the accuracy of ship components evaluated efficiently during the whole manufacturing cycle time. In accurate shipbuilding process, block accuracy is the key part, which has significant meaning in shortening the period of shipbuilding process, decreasing cost and improving the quality of ship. The key of block accuracy control is to create a integrate block accuracy controlling system, which makes great sense in implementing comprehensive accuracy controlling, increasing block accuracy, standardization of proceeding of accuracy controlling, realizing "zero-defect transferring" and advancing non-allowance shipbuilding. Generally, managers of accuracy control measure the vital points at section surface of block by using the heavy total station, which is inconvenient and time-consuming for measurement of vital points. In this paper, a new measurement method based on point clouds technique has been proposed. This method is to measure the 3D coordinates values of vital points at section surface of block by using 3D scanner, and then compare the measured point with design point based on ICP algorithm which has an allowable error check process that makes sure that whether or not the error between design point and measured point is within the margin of error.

The accurate geo-referencing processes that apply ground control points is prerequisite for effective end use of HRSI (High-resolution satellite imagery). Since the conventional control point acquisition by human operator takes long time, demands for the automated matching to existing reference data has been increasing its popularity. Among many options of reference data, the airborne LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) data shows high potential due to its high spatial resolution and vertical accuracy. Additionally, it is in the form of 3-dimensional point cloud free from the relief displacement. Recently, a new matching method between LiDAR data and HRSI was proposed that is based on the image projection of whole LiDAR data into HRSI domain, however, importing and processing the large amount of LiDAR data considered as time-consuming. Therefore, we wmotivated to ere propose a local LiDAR chip generation for the HRSI geo-referencing. In the procedure, a LiDAR point cloud was rasterized into an ortho image with the digital elevation model. After then, we selected local areas, which of containing meaningful amount of edge information to create LiDAR chips of small data size. We tested the LiDAR chips for fully-automated geo-referencing with Kompsat-2 and Kompsat-3 data. Finally, the experimental results showed one-pixel level of mean accuracy.

With the rapid acceleration of low-birth rate and population aging, the employment of the neglected groups of people including the middle aged class is a crucial issue in South Korea. In particular, in the 2010s, the number of the middle aged who want to find a new job after retirement age is significantly increasing with the arrival of the retirement time of the baby boom generation (born 1955-1963). Despite the importance of matching jobs to this emerging middle aged class, private job portals as well as the Korean government do not provide any online job service tailored for them. A gigantic amount of job information is available online; however, the current recruiting systems do not meet the demand of the middle aged class as their primary targets are young workers. We are in dire need of a specially designed recruiting system for the middle aged. Meanwhile, when users are searching the desired occupations on the Worknet website, provided by the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor, users are experiencing discomfort to search for similar jobs because Worknet is providing filtered search results on the basis of exact matches of a preferred job code. Besides, according to our Worknet data analysis, only about 24% of job seekers had landed on a job position consistent with their initial preferred job code while the rest had landed on a position different from their initial preference. To improve the situation, particularly for the middle aged class, we investigate a soft job matching technique by performing the following: 1) we review a user behavior logs of Worknet, which is a public job recruiting system set up by the Korean government and point out key system design implications for the middle aged. Specifically, we analyze the job postings that include preferential tags for the middle aged in order to disclose what types of jobs are in favor of the middle aged; 2) we develope a new occupation classification scheme for the middle aged, Korea Occupation Classification for the Middle-aged (KOCM), based on the similarity between jobs by reorganizing and modifying a general occupation classification scheme. When viewed from the perspective of job placement, an occupation classification scheme is a way to connect the enterprises and job seekers and a basic mechanism for job placement. The key features of KOCM include establishing the Simple Labor category, which is the most requested category by enterprises; and 3) we design MOMA (Middle-aged Occupation Matching Algorithm), which is a hybrid job matching algorithm comprising constraint-based reasoning and case-based reasoning. MOMA incorporates KOCM to expand query to search similar jobs in the database. MOMA utilizes cosine similarity between user requirement and job posting to rank a set of postings in terms of preferred job code, salary, distance, and job type. The developed system using MOMA demonstrates about 20 times of improvement over the hard matching performance. In implementing the algorithm for a web-based application of recruiting system for the middle aged, we also considered the usability issue of making the system easier to use, which is especially important for this particular class of users. That is, we wanted to improve the usability of the system during the job search process for the middle aged users by asking to enter only a few simple and core pieces of information such as preferred job (job code), salary, and (allowable) distance to the working place, enabling the middle aged to find a job suitable to their needs efficiently. The Web site implemented with MOMA should be able to contribute to improving job search of the middle aged class. We also expect the overall approach to be applicable to other groups of people for the improvement of job matching results.

This study compared and analyzed 15 CBMR (Content-based Music Retrieval) systems accessible on the web in terms of DB size and type, query type, access point, input and output type, and search functions, with reviewing features of music information and techniques used for transforming or transcribing of music sources, extracting and segmenting melodies, extracting and indexing features of music, and matching algorithms for CBMR systems. Application of text information retrieval techniques such as inverted indexing, N-gram indexing, Boolean search, truncation, keyword and phrase search, normalization, filtering, browsing, exact matching, similarity measure using edit distance, sorting, etc. to enhancing the CBMR; effort for increasing DB size and usability; and problems in extracting melodies, deleting stop notes in queries, and using solfege as pitch information were found as the results of analysis.

Rotary compressors are one of the most important parts of air-conditioners in the industry This device usually has noise problems during the circulation process of the refrigerant and muffler is used for the noise reduction. The acoustic performance of the muffler depends on its shape and its hole locations on the upper surface. Therefore finding the optimum location of the muffler holes is a topic of increasing importance in the compressor industry. In this research the optimization of the muffler hole locations and the importance of the resonator cavity on the lower surface of the muffler in acoustic point of view is studied. At first, the topology optimization for the 2 hole muffler is performed based on a model without resonator cavity by using genetic algorithm. The 2 hole muffler's acoustic analysis and experiment results are matching, however, the optimized model's results are not. By adding the resonator cavity and also by changing the cavity shape, the acoustic analysis and experiment result comparison is Performed for different cavity shapes. The topology optimization of the revised model with cavity is carried out for noise reduction. Finally, the optimized design is produced and tested for validation.
Recently, the use of high-resolution satellites is increasing in many areas. In order to supply useful satellite images stably, it is necessary to establish automatic precision geometric correction technic. Geometric correction is the process that corrected geometric errors of satellite imagery based on the GCP (Ground Control Point), which is correspondence point between accurate ground coordinates and image coordinates. Therefore, in the automatic geometric correction process, it is the key to acquire high-quality GCPs automatically. In this paper, we proposed iterative precision geometry correction method. we constructed an image pyramid and repeatedly performed GCP chip matching, outlier detection, and precision sensor modeling in each layer of the image pyramid. Through this method, we were able to acquire high-quality GCPs automatically. we then improved the performance of geometric correction of high-resolution satellite images. To analyze the performance of the proposed method, we used KOMPSAT-3 and 3A Level 1R 8 scenes. As a result of the experiment, the proposed method showed the geometric correction accuracy of 1.5 pixels on average and a maximum of 2 pixels.

As the main technology of the 4th industrial revolution, immersive 360-degree video contents are drawing attention. The market size of immersive 360-degree video contents worldwide is projected to increase from $6.7 billion in 2018 to approximately $70 billion in 2020. However, most of the immersive 360-degree video contents are distributed through illegal distribution networks such as Webhard and Torrent, and the damage caused by illegal reproduction is increasing. Existing 2D video industry uses copyright filtering technology to prevent such illegal distribution. The technical difficulties dealing with immersive 360-degree videos arise in that they require ultra-high quality pictures and have the characteristics containing images captured by two or more cameras merged in one image, which results in the creation of distortion regions. There are also technical limitations such as an increase in the amount of feature point data due to the ultra-high definition and the processing speed requirement. These consideration makes it difficult to use the same 2D filtering technology for 360-degree videos. To solve this problem, this paper suggests a feature point extraction and identification technique that select object identification areas excluding regions with severe distortion, recognize objects using deep learning technology in the identification areas, extract feature points using the identified object information. Compared with the previously proposed method of extracting feature points using stitching area for immersive contents, the proposed technique shows excellent performance gain.

With the recent increase in old and dangerous buildings, the demand for technology in the field of structure demolition is rapidly increasing. In particular, in the case of structures with severe deformation of damage, there is a risk of deterioration in stability and disaster due to changes in the load distribution characteristics in the structure, so rapid structure demolition technology that can be efficiently dismantled in a short period of time is drawing attention. However, structural deformation such as unauthorized extension or illegal remodeling occurs frequently in many old structures, which is not reflected in structural information such as building drawings, and acts as an obstacle in the demolition design process. In this study, as an effective way to overcome the discrepancy between the structural information of old structures and the actual structure, access to actual structures through 3D modeling was considered. 3D point cloud data inside and outside the building were obtained through LiDAR and drone photography for buildings scheduled to be blasting demolition, and precision matching between the two spatial data groups was performed using an open-source based spatial information construction system. The 3D structure model was completed by importing point cloud data matched with 3D modeling software to create structural drawings for each layer and forming each member along the structure slab, pillar, beam, and ceiling boundary. In addition, the modeling technique proposed in this study was verified by comparing it with the actual measurement value for selected structure member.

In the field of computer vision, image mosaicking is a common method for effectively increasing restricted the field of view of a camera by combining a set of separate images into a single seamless image. Image mosaicking based on feature points has recently been a focus of research because of simple estimation for geometric transformation regardless distortions and differences of intensity generating by motion of a camera in consecutive images. Yet, since most feature-point matching algorithms extract feature points using gray values, identifying corresponding points becomes difficult in the case of changing illumination and images with a similar intensity. Accordingly, to solve these problems, this paper proposes a method of image mosaicking based on feature points using color information of images. Essentially, the digital values acquired from a digital color camera are converted to values of a virtual camera with distinct narrow bands. Values based on the surface reflectance and invariant to the chromaticity of various illuminations are then derived from the virtual camera values and defined as color-invariant values invariant to changing illuminations. The validity of these color-invariant values is verified in a test using a Macbeth Color-Checker under simulated illuminations. The test also compares the proposed method using the color-invariant values with the conventional SIFT algorithm. The accuracy of the matching between the feature points extracted using the proposed method is increased, while image mosaicking using color information is also achieved.

Recently, there have been cases in which counterfeit foreign ships have entered and left domestic ports several times. Vessels have a ship-specific serial number given by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to identify the vessel, and IMO marking is mandatory on all ships built since 2004. In the case of airports and ports, which are representative logistics platforms, a security system is essential, but it is difficult to establish a security system at a port and there are many blind spots, which can cause security problems due to insufficient security systems. In this paper, a port security system is designed using deep learning object recognition and OpenCV. The security system process extracts the IMO number of the ship after recognizing the object when entering the ship, determines whether it is the same ship through feature point matching for ships with entry records, and stores the ship image and IMO number in the entry/exit DB for the first arrival vessel. Through the system of this paper, port security can be strengthened by improving the efficiency and system of port logistics by increasing the efficiency of port management personnel and reducing incidental costs caused by unauthorized entry.
