Perception of outsource workers among Incheon Int'l airport employees was reviewed about the service performances of winning the ASQ awards in 11 consecutive years. 85% of Incheon airport operating authority(Incheon International Airport Corp.) and its outsource companies employees was composed of outsource workers. Thus, their thoughts might represent the overall perception of airport operating authority employees. The perception on the service performances of winning the ASQ awards was analyzed by researchers using attribution theory model. It is useful to apply attribution modeling in order to analyze the causal relationships among variables. Attribution is the process by which individuals explain the causes of behavior and events. Attribution theory is the study of models to explain those processes. According to empirical analysis, it was found outsource workers attributed the excellent service performance of Incheon airport to such an internal factor as service competence. However it was also implied they attributed to such external factors as the positive relationship and institutional support from airport and government authorities.

The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of airport staff's attachment and participation to Incheon International Airport on satisfaction through mediating effects of development support and negative perception. This paper surveyed airline staff who worked at airport and conducted an empirical analysis based on survey results. This is because the effect of community members' attachment on satisfaction has been reviewed quite substantially. However, there has been insufficient research on the effect of attachment and participation on satisfaction through mediating effects of development support and emotional perception. According to empirical analysis, it was found that the participation of airport staff had a significant positive effect on satisfaction. In addition, support for development projects has also been proven to have a mediating effect. Following the empirical research results, this paper suggested implications for the 5^th development project at Incheon International Airport.

Incheon International Airport (IIA) is trying to boost itself up for the Hub airport with a proactive marketing and large scale of airport expansion plan. Even the transfer rate of IIA for now is not high enough for a Hub airport, it is expected to keep increase for the future due to an effort to be the Hub. This study is to be made for setting the standards of airport planning as to the transfer rate based on the research of operational characteristics of Hub airport.

The purpose of this study is to examine the trend of export growth rate and rate of change by each port/airport in Korea. And to analyze which each port/airport are showing a high growth rate. To this end, Incheon Airport, Busan, Incheon, Ulsan, Gwangyang and Pyeongtaek were selected in order of export value. The analysis period for each port/airport was 200 monthly data from September 2001 to April 2018. Pyeongtaek, Incheon and Gwangyang are relatively larger than Busan and Ulsan in the rate of increase and change. This is because export to China and Southeast Asia has increased more than in the US and Japan. As a result of the analysis, exports from Busan, Incheon Airport and Ulsan have recently been shifted to Incheon Airport, Incheon, Gwangyang and Pyeongtaek. In addition, the export portion of Incheon International Airport, which is an aviation logistics service, is growing more and more. In the west coast era, interest and investment in Incheon, Pyeongtaek and Gwangyang seem to be more needed in preparation for import and export to China, Southeast Asia and North Korea.

Incheon international airport has been successful, that is, the winner of Airport Service Quality (ASQ) evaluation performed by ACI(Airport Council International) for nine consecutive years. It goes without saying that such an outstanding performance was made not only by airport authority itself but by the collaboration among subcontractors at Incheon international airport. Since Incheon airport is showing more than 80% of outsourcing rate, it is important to mention and study the roles and functions of subcontractors who has made a major contribution to ASQ performance. According to empirical research in this paper, it was found out service attitude, communication skill and interdependence between airport authority and subcontractors were important factors affecting the ASQ score. It is also analyzed that those independent factors have an impact on ASQ performance through the intermediate factor of trust. As a result, service attitude and interdependence between airport authority and subcontractors have statistically a significant effect to the relational satisfaction and ASQ performance. It could be concluded that trust is significant factor determining the causal relationship among service attitude, communication skill, relational satisfaction and ASQ score.

This study deals with transfer passengers in hub airports. The research objective is to derive measures for transfer passenger quantity enhancement at Incheon International Airport by applying Analytic Hierarchy Process. In pursuing the above objective, this study conducted a survey to evaluate various selection criteria for choosing transfer airports and ranked attributes in weight order with Analytic Hierarchy Process. Furthermore, based on the trend analysis of Incheon International Airport's transfer passenger movement, this paper analysed main transit routes of Incheon International Airports against competitor airports among the region. The main result found from the study is flight frequency, ticket price and connecting hour were the most important 3 factors when people choose transit airports. Therefore, it is recommended government, airport authority and airlines to cooperate closely to meet the transfer passengers' needs on frequency, price and transit hour of flights.

Incheon International Airport as the gateway to Korea is having the happiest time with those honorable prizes. But in these days, the trend of aviation is changing rapidly, so many rival airports in the world as well as north-east asian countries are rushing to find new revenue sources not to be turned over. Hence Incheon International Airport should push into fresh fields or create new sources of business keeping innovation by making foreign airports its role model. This study brings up some new profit models of foreign airports; Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport, China's Xiamen Aviation Industry Zone, German's Frankfurt Fraport Airports Group. This study analyzes the status of listed airports and presents strategies after investigating whether they are suitable for and compatible to Incheon International Airport.

An indicator system is an effective way to monitor ongoing safety status. Current aviation safety measurements account for many qualitative technical and lagging indicators. Conversely, quantitative and leading indicators have only a tiny proportion. This research added more quantitative leading indicators and reviewed them to harmonize lagging and leading indicators to measure airport safety and provide an index. The South Korean national gate, Incheon International Airport's indicators, were applied as primary data to verify this research practically. Then, examples from International and national authorities were reviewed and extracted for use. Fifty-five safety specialists participated in the focus group discussion and three rounds of the Delphi survey. Finally, 51 sub-indicators were newly chosen. After this process, weights for each indicator could be assigned using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) to provide an integrated index. The result of the simulation with newly added indicators in the past five years (2020-2022) reliable trend showed in indicators and integrated index. Moreover, this allows monitoring the status of the details of indicators and holistic insight. This study considered that it is more suitable for a single company or service provider to use it according to the exact situation than in a macro- and general-purpose at the country or regional level.

Korean government is planning to develop the airport and its surrounding area into a Northeast Hub of Asia. In accordance with the Free Trade Zones Act, Incheon International Airport Corporation is in charge of developing the free trade zone which will be located adjacent to the airport cargo terminals. The free trade zone plays an important part for the promotion of international logistics. So the purpose of this paper is to make research on the activation measures of the airport free trade zone for the building of a hub of international logistics. As for the research, this paper reviews the current regulations of the Free Trade Zones Act. Also this paper analyzes recent plans and reports on the free trade zone by Incheon International Airport Corporation and Korean government authorities. As the results of this paper, it will contribute to the activation of the airport free trade zone, and to building Incheon International Airport into the logistics hub of Northeast Asia, and to the inducement of foreigner's investment in the free trade zone.

This study was conducted to identify the differences in service quality between Incheon and Kimpo international airports and critical factors influencing satisfaction of their customers. According to the results of the study, all service quality factors of Incheon international airport except the service factor of geographical location were better than those of Kimpo international airport. However, all service quality factors of the two airports were evaluated inferior to those of American, western European and Japanese international airports. In addition the service quality factors such as response, safety, airport facility and geographical location were found as critical factors influencing satisfaction of the airport customers. The service quality factor of geographical location of Incheon international airport was measured much inferior comparing with other service quality factors. Thus, the results of this study suggest that the Korean government deliberate and benchmark the international airports of western Europe and the USA in determining the geographical location when planning new international airports.
