The Step Complexity Measure - Its Meaning and Applications

  • According to related studies, it was revealed that the procedural deviation plays a significant role in initiating accidents or incidents. This means that, to maximize safety, it is indispensable to be able to answer the question of “why the operators deviate from procedures\ulcorner” In this study, the SC (step complexity) measure is introduced to investigate its applicability for studying the procedural deviation, since it was shown that the change of the operators' performance is strongly correlated with the change of SC scores. This means that the SC measure could play an important role for researches related to the procedural deviation, since it is strongly believed that complicated procedures would affect both the operator' performance and the possibility of the procedural deviation. Thus, to ensure this expectation, the meaning of the SC measure is investigated through brief explanations including the necessity, theoretical basis and verification activities of the SC measure. As a result, it is confirmed that the SC measure can be used to explain the change of the operators' performance due to the task complexity implied by procedures. In addition, it seems that the SC measure nay be useful for various purposes, particularly for scrutinizing the relationship between the procedural deviation and complicated procedures.

임파워링 리더십이 내재적 동기, 잡 크래프팅 및 직무성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Empowering Leadership on Intrinsic Motivation, Job Crafting and Job Performance)

  • 본 연구에서는 임파워링 리더십이 내재적 동기, 잡 크래프팅, 직무성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 그리고 임파워링 리더십과 직무성과의 관계에 있어서 내재적 동기와 잡 크래프팅의 매개역할을 검증하였다. 양산, 울산, 경주의 중소기업 종사자로부터 수집한 설문자료를 사용하여 연구가설을 검증하기 위한 공분산 구조분석을 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 임파워링 리더십은 내재적 동기, 잡 크래프팅에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 임파워링 리더십은 직무성과에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 내재적 동기는 잡 크래프팅에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 직무성과에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 잡 크래프팅은 직무성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 임파워링 리더십과 잡 크래프팅 간의 관계에서 내재적 동기가 부분 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 임파워링 리더십과 직무성과 사이에 잡 크래프팅이 완전 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 조직구성원의 직무성과 향상을 위해 리더의 임파워링 리더십을 통한 내재적 동기와 잡 크래프팅을 강화시켜야 함을 시사하고 있다.

유통서비스 기업의 공급사슬 운영성과 경로에서 파트너 관계자산의 역할 (The Role of Relational Capital in Supply Chain Management for Distribution Service Firms)

  • Purpose - This study's purpose is to investigate the impact of supply chain management (SCM) factors among targeted Korean distribution firms. Antecedents are established for supply chain orientation (SCO) for the management and organization of cultural assets. The research sets up SCO corresponding to management cultural assets and to organizational factors in the results. The research model is created to examine the SCO based on a strategic perspective and the operational performance of the SC and SCM. In addition, an integrated model is constructed to analyze the moderating effect by setting partner cooperation as a relational capital factor. The main aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the supply chain structure as a source of competitive advantage for distribution service firms participating in the supply chain. In the moderating effects analysis, the role of partner cooperation as relational capital is examined in detail. Research design, data, and methodology - The study examined the existing research related to supply chains, discussing the antecedents of the performance of SCM and SCO. SCM was established with the partner's cooperation as relational capital. Including the moderating effects of the partner cooperation, the research proposed a seven hypotheses path analysis model. The samples were collected from the Korean export enterprises in the distribution service sector, with 185 samples selected for the final analysis. To try and measure the four latent variables presented in the analysis model based on existing studies, 22 measurement items were used. The empirical analysis used the appropriate PLS (partial least squares) method on the path analysis reliability and validity and for common method bias. After testing the seven hypotheses, the research tested the moderating effects to the path analysis. Using PLS as structural equation modeling, the seven hypotheses were tested including the moderating effects of the partner relational capital on the 185 samples. Results - In the results, the SCO had a positive impact on both SCM and the relational capital of partner cooperation. The SCM had a significant impact on the operational performance of the SC. Further, partner cooperation also had a significant impact on SCM and the operational performance of the SC. The moderating effect analysis of the SCM and partner cooperation found a significant impact on the operational performance of the SC. On the other hand, the moderating effect of the SCO and partner cooperation did not affect the SCM. Conclusion - The results of this research show that the existing supply chain-related research can be applied to the operational performance of the SC for a Korean distribution service firm. In view of the fact that SCO is a source of competitive advantage, it should be taken into account when a firm wants to improve the performance of the SCM of the distribution service. This is because it can be assumed that SCO plays a role in supply chain management for the distribution firm.

  • Measuring and evaluating the business performance plays a very important role in managing business. It is both because business performance, in any types of industry, can be evaluated and managed properly only when the measurement of its performance is estimated and because its performance can be improved through an efficient and effective management. Therefore it is essential to build up the performance evaluation system to raise management efficiency of food service industry, to reinforce competitive power of food service industry. In this study, investigated the present performance evaluation system situation of the food service industry and introduced BSC as the main conceptional framework for evaluating the performance of the food service industry. Finally, this study discussed the possible method for building a balanced scorecard to the food service industry.

  • 오픈 이노베이션은 기업의 기술혁신활동에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 한편 벤처기업의 경우 상대적으로 기업 규모가 작아 활용 가능한 내부자원에 한계가 있어 개방형 혁신을 통해 외부와의 협력을 확대하는 활동은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 벤처기업의 기술혁신 성과에 영향을 미치는 기업가정신, 혁신역량, 외부협력의 관계를 규명하여 기술혁신 성과를 극대화하는 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 부산 지역의 벤처기업을 대상으로 기술혁신활동 성과에 영향을 미치는 기업가정신, 혁신역량 및 외부협력의 관계를 분석했다. 기업가정신은 혁신역량, 외부협력, 기술혁신성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치고, 혁신역량은 외부협력과 기술혁신성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 외부협력 또한 기술혁신성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 혁신역량, 외부협력은 각각 기업가정신과 기술혁신성과간의 관계에 긍정적 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 혁신역량과 외부협력은 함께 기업가정신과 기술혁신성과간의 관계에 긍정적 매개역할을 한다는 결론을 도출하였다.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify observation and performance of nursing role activities by student nurses graduating from 3 year junior colleges or 4 year universities. Method: A descriptive design was used and the participants were 295 student nurses who were graduating. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Results: The average score for observation of nursing role activity was $2.16{\pm}0.29$, and for performance $1.61{\pm}0.29$. Among the college students, the mean item score for observation was highest for medication administrator and lowest for provider of spiritual & bereavement care, while for the university students the highest was for provider of care during surgery and lowest for provider of spiritual & bereavement care. The college students had higher scores for observation, and the university students for performance. Conclusion: It is concluded that standardized practice learning programs need to be designed in schools and in clinical practice areas, in order to further develop adaptability to nursing roles.

표준화 환자에 대한 학생 평가와 환자의사관계 점수와의 관계 (The Relationship between Medical Students' Assessment of Standardized Patients and Patient‐Physician Interaction Score)

  • When standardized patients (SPs) are used for educational purposes, the authenticity of role play and the quality of feedback are essential requirements of SPs. This study was conducted to investigate medical students' assessment of SPs and to identify the components of SPs' performance that were most strongly correlated with patient-physician interaction score. One hundred and forty-two fourth-year medical students were asked to complete the Maastricht Assessment of Simulated Patients (MaSP) at the end of a clinical performance examination. SPs evaluated the patient-physician interactions using a 4-point Likert scale (1=poor to 4=excellent). Medical students' assessment of SPs using the MaSP was positively correlated with patient-physician interactions (r=0.325, p<0.01). Items addressing the authenticity of role play (e.g., "SPs appear authentic," "SPs might be real patients," and "SPs answer questions in a natural manner") were closely correlated with patient-physician interactions (p<0.001, p=0.027, and p=0.017, respectively). These results showed that the MaSP appears to be a useful instrument for evaluating SPs' performance and that the authenticity of SPs' performance was positively correlated with medical students' interactions. In order to improve patient-physician interactions, medical students should be given opportunities to practice their skills with SPs who have been trained to portray patients with a specific condition in a realistic way.

조직 내 기술스트레스가 역할과 성과에 미치는 영향: 혁신지원의 조절효과 (How Does Technostress Influence Employees' Role and Performance in An Organization?: The Moderating Effect of Innovation Support)

  • 본 연구는 실증적 설문 자료를 기반으로 역할 스트레스와 성과에 대한 정보통신기술(ICT)에 의해 만들어진 스트레스(즉, 기술스트레스)의 효과를 확인하기 위해 사회기술 이론과 역할 이론의 개념을 사용하였다. 본 연구는 먼저 ICT가 어떠한 방법으로 조직 구성원들의 스트레스를 만들며 기술스트레스를 형성하는 요인은 무엇인지에 대한 다양한 관점을 제시한다. 다음으로 본 연구는 크게 다음의 4가지 가설을 제안한다. (1) 기술스트레스는 역할 스트레스(즉, 역할 충돌과 역할 과중)와 부정적 심리 성과 및 IS 사용의 부정적 성과에 각각 긍정적으로 관련되어 있을 것이다. (2) 역할 충돌은 부정적 심리성과 및 IS 사용의 부정적 성과에 각각 긍정적으로 관련되어 있을 것이다. (3) 역할 과중은 부정적 심리 성과 및 IS 사용의 부정적 성과에 각각 긍정적으로 관련되어 있을 것이다. (4) 혁신 지원은 기술 및 역할 스트레스와 부정적 심리 성과 및 IS 사용의 부정적 성과 사이에서 조절 역할을 할 것이다. 본 연구는 가설들을 검정하기 위해 조직의 ICT 사용자로부터 설문조사를 실시하여 수집된 데이터를 바탕으로 부분최소자승(Partial Least Squares: PLS)법을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 기술스트레스와 역할 충돌 간의 관계에 대한 가설을 제외한 다른 가설들을 지지하는 것을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 이론적으로, 조직에서 개인이 경험한 스트레스에 대한 기존의 개념에 기술스트레스의 확인을 통해 또 다른 차원을 추가적으로 제시하고, 기술스트레스와 역할 스트레스 사이의 긍정적인 관계의 검정을 통해 기술과 조직의 역할 사이의 관계 및 구조를 분석하는 문헌에 새로운 맥락을 제안한다. 실무적으로는 기술스트레스가 조직에 존재하는 정도를 평가하는 진단 도구를 제시하고, 기술스트레스의 역효과는 역할 스트레스를 줄이는 전략에 하나의 유용한 방안이 될 수 있다는 것을 제안한다.
