레이저 반사광 분석을 통한 미세 표면 프로파일 추정 알고리즘의 개발 (Development of microscopic surface profile estimation algorithm through reflected laser beam analysis)

  • In order to measure surface roughness profile, stylus type equipments are commonly used, but the stylus keeps contact with surface and damages specimens by its tip pressure. Therefore, optics based measurement systems are developed, and light phase interferometer, which is based on light interference phenomenon, is the most noticeable research. However, light interference based measurements require translation mechanisms of nano-meter order in order to generate phase differences or multiple focusing, thus the systems cannot satisfy the industrial need of on-the-machine and in-process measurement to achieve factory automation and productive enhancement. In this research, we focused light reflectance phenomenon rather than the light interference, because reflectance based method do not need translation mechanisms. However, the method cannot direct]y measure surface roughness profile, because reflected light consists of several components and thus it cannot supply surface height information with its original form. In order to overcome the demerit, we newly proposed an image processing based algorithm, which can separate reflected light components and conduct parameterization and reconstruction process with respect to surface height information, and then confirmed the reliability of proposed algorithm by experiment.

  • In this study, we compared the physical and chemical properties evaluation for each size in the SUS316L metal powder produced by water atomization and gas atomization. and we analyzed the experimental data in order to find the basis of a suitable metal powder (SUS316L) for DED (Direct Energy Deposition) processing. Also it evaluated the properties of each layered surface and cross section according to the number of deposition and deposition speed. In the result of optical microscopy measurements, the metal powder by water atomization was the crack generated between the deposition layer, the deposition layer was poor quality. However, metal powder by gas atomization was obtained a relatively good deposition results than metal powder by water atomization.

  • It has been proved that pollutants stuck on the surface of stone architecture have significant direct and indirect harmful effects on them. Among them some do not look evidently harmful, but they have potentials to ruin stone architecture as time goes on. Since the cultural assets have magnificent meanings as historical aspects, their future states should be considered seriously as well as that of the presence. The past method to get rid of the pollutants from the surface of cultural properties has been changed a lot till the present along with scientific development of technology on this field. Existing method to eliminating pollutants are based on physical and chemical processing, which can make damages on them too. Recently cleansing using LASER has been developed in Europe and proved as effective and relatively less harmful to remove pollutants, and it has been adopted widely. After the success of the way by LASER, there are several trials to adopt the way to our cultural properties which have similar materials. Those showed satisfactory results and studies for developing the securer and more dependable ways to apply. From now on the report will show the effective ways to apply the method using LASER on to the similar materials and different materials as well and discuss about the pros and cons about the method.

355nm 파장의 DPSSL을 이용한 폴리머의 3차원 미세 형상 광가공기술 (Three-dimensional micro photomachining of polymer using DPSSL (Diode Pumped Solid State Laser) with 355 nm wavelength)

  • 본 연구에서는 355 nm의 파장을 갖는 Nd:YVO$_4$ 3고주파 DPSS 레이저를 이용하여 폴리머의 3차원 미세형상 가공기술을 개발하였다. UV레이저와 폴리머의 어블레이션에 관한 메커니즘을 설명하였으며 비교적 UV영역에서 파장이 긴 355 nm파장의 영역에서는 광열분해 반응으로 가공되고 이에 따른 폴리머의 광학적 특성을 살펴보았다. 광 흡수율 특성이 우수한 폴리머가 광가공 특성이 좋은 것으로 나타났으나 벤젠구조가 많이 포함되어 있는 폴리이미드의 경우는 광분해후 다시 새로운 화학적 결합이 이루어져 가공부 면이 좋지 않은 면을 보였다. 레이저의 다중 주사방식으로 가공하기위하여 표면의 오염이 적은 폴리카보네이트를 시편으로 사용하여 3차원 적으로 모델링한 직경 1 mm와 500 $\mu\textrm{m}$의 마이크로 팬을 가공하였다. 레이저 발진 효율이 높고 유지비가 적은 355 nm의 DPSSL을 이용한 3차원 가공기술의 개발로 향후 저비용으로 빠른 시간에 미세부품을 개발하는 기술에 기여할 것으로 예상된다.

용탕 침투법을 이용한 복합 삽입 금속의 제조 (Fabrication of Composite Filler Metal by Melt Infiltration)

  • The aim of this study is fabricating of composite filler metal (CFM) by a combination of selective laser sintering (SLS) of stainless steel powders (RapidSteel $2.0^{TM}$ and liquid phase infiltration of Ag-28 wt.%Cu alloy. Porous stainless steel body with inter-connected pore channels was fabricated by SLS, binder decomposing and densification processes. By the direct contact infiltration, the narrow inter-particle channels of the porous body were completely filled with the Ag-28 wt.%Cu alloy infiltrant. During infiltration, the dissolved elements of Fe, Ni and Cr from the porous body were solved into copper solid solution phases, which consist of eutectic structure of composite metal matrix. The S10C/CFM/S10C joints, which have narrow clearance gaps between them up to 10 micrometers, were joined successfully by self-feeding of filler metal from the matrix of CFM. The CFM kept its original thickness and microstructure after brazing. The tensile strength of brazed specimen was higher than 30 kgf/$mm^2$ and showed a typical ductile fracture mode in the CFM.

레이저 용융 금속 적층 시 결함 방지를 위한 혼합 분말 적층에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Laser Melting Deposition of Mixed Metal Powders to Prevent Interfacial Cracks)

  • Direct energy deposition (DED) technique uses a laser heat source to deposit a metal layer on a substrate. Many researchers have used the DED technique to study the hardfacing of molds and dies. The aim of this study is to obtain high surface hardness and a sound bonding between the AISI M4 deposits and a substrate utilizing a mixed powder that contains M4 and AISI P21 powders. To prevent interfacial cracks between the M4 deposits and the substrate, the mixed powder is pre-deposited onto a JIS S45C substrate, before the deposition of M4 powders. Interfacial defects occurring between the deposits and substrate and changes in the microhardness of the intermediate layer were examined. Observations of the cross-sections of deposited specimens revealed that the interfacial cracks appeared in samples with one and two mixed layers regardless of the mixture ratio. However, the crack was removed by increasing the mixture ratio and the number of intermediate layers. Meanwhile, the microhardness in the mixed layer was found to decrease with increasing ratio of P21 powder in the mixture and that in the upper region of the deposited layers was approximately 800 HV, which was attributed to various alloying elements in the M4 powder.

  • Micro tensile test is the most direct and convenient method to measure material properties such as Young's modulus and fracture strength. It, however, needs more accurate measurement system, mote stable and repetitive alignment and more sensitive gripping than conventional tensile test. Many researchers have put their effort on overcoming these difficulties for tile development of micro tensile tester, fabricating micro specimens of functional materials and measuring their properties. This paper will review the related vigorous researches over the world in the recent decade and explain how to apply them to a design of the fester which is under our own development.

  • Every year, approximately 350 million tons of plastic waste are generated worldwide. This waste, can degrade into microplastics, owing to factors such as temperature changes and UV exposure. These smaller plastic particles are increasingly entering the food chain through marine life, thereby raising concerns about their impact on human health. Consequently, there is an increasing need to measure microplastics. Common methods involve direct collection by using a manta trawl equipped with a 330 ㎛ mesh net or performing spectroscopic and thermal analyses on collected samples. However, these methods require complex pre-processing, which risk sample destruction. In this study, we developed a system to directly sample microplastics in aquatic environments by using laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. Through an analysis of the fluorescence spectra as well as, the with gradient and integration at specific points, we successfully distinguished microplastics of 100, 200, 300, and 500 ㎛ in size, and we also differentiated between polyethylene (PE) and polystyrene (PS) types.

  • LPM(Linear Pulse Motor) provide direct and precise position control of bidirectional linear motion. LPM is not subject to the same linear velocity and acceleration limitations inherent in systems converting rotary to linear motion such as lead screws, rack and pinion, belt and pulley drives. With LPM, all the thrust force generated by the motor is efficiently applied directly to the load. And speed, distance, and acceleration are easily programmed in a highly repeatable fashion. Potential industrial and application fields of LPM include PCB assembly, industrial sewing machines, automatic inspection, coil winder, medical uses, conveyer system, laser cut and trim systems, semiconductor wafer processing, OA instruments etc. This paper describes various design parameter of LPM such as magnetic ciucuit construction methods, phase number and tooth number per pole, permanent magnet and coil mmf, tooth geometries. And to solve the problems of existing control methods, in this paper, a new control method of the LPM is proposed throughout modern control theory.

UV 임프린팅 공정을 이용한 금속막 필터제작 (Fabrication of Metallic Nano-Filter Using UV-Imprinting Process)

  • The demand of on-chip total analyzing system with MEMS (micro electro mechanical system) bio/chemical sensor is rapidly increasing. In on-chip total analyzing system, to detect the bio/chemical products with submicron feature size, a filtration system with nano-filter is required. One of the conventional methods to fabricate nano-filter is to use direct patterning or RIE (reactive ion etching). However, those procedures are very costly and are not suitable fur mass production. In this study, we suggested new fabrication method for a nano-filter based on replication process, which is simple and low cost process. After the Si master was fabricated by laser interference lithography and reactive ion etching process, the polymeric mold was replicated by UV-imprint process. Metallic nano-filter was fabricated after removing the polymeric part of metal deposited polymeric mold. Finally, our fabrication method was applied to metallic nano-filter with $1{\mu}m$ pitch size and $0.4{\mu}m$ hole size for bacteria sensor application.
