  • The KSR-III developed by KARI is the first rocket vehicle which is adopting the liquid propellant rocket engine system in Korea and its flight test was successfully done last year. KSR-III is a sounding rocket class launch vehicle, but there is a sense to accomplish design, manufacture, performance test and finally its flight test by domestic technology. In this paper, the authors are intended to introduce the multi-purpose test facility(PTA-II Test Facility) which is constructed for the variety of tests on KSR-III feeding system(single component tests, verification tests, cold flow tests and combustion tests) and its test results.

  • Alpha-interferon was produced by using recombinant Escherichia coli strains, which carry cloned alpha-interferon gene in plasmid vectors, pIF-III-B and pIF-III-C. With the aid of signal sequence of E. coli lipoprotein, which is placed right in front of the upstream of the cloned alpha-interferon gene of the plasmids, about 50% of alpha-interferon produced was excreted or secreted. Meanwhile, there was no extracellular production of alpha-interferon from the recombinant strain carrying the plasmid Hif-2h that lacks the signal sequence of lipoprotein.

  • BitTorrent is one of the most important applications in the current Internet. Despite of its interest, we still have little knowledge regarding the connectivity properties of real BitTorrent swarms. In this paper we leverage a dataset including the connectivity information of 250 real torrents and more than 150k peers to carefully study the connectivity properties of peers. The main topology parameters of the studied swarms suggest that they are significantly less resilient than random graphs. The analysis of the peer level connectivity properties reveals that peers continuously change more than half of their neighbours. Furthermore, we also find that a leecher typically keeps stable connections with a handful of neighbours with which it exchanges most of its traffic whereas seeders do not establish long-term connections with any peer so that they can homogeneously distribute chunks among leechers. Finally, we have discovered that a significant portion of the studied peers (45%) have an important locality-biased neighbourhood composition.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare mandibular teeth development of Angle Class I malocclusion group with that of Angle Class III malocclusion group. The studied subjects consisted of 217 Angle Class I malocclusion patients and 235 Angle Class III malocclusion patients. Two study methods were used. One was to evaluate tooth development degree by means of Nolla stage method, the others was to measure tooth length on panoramic radiograph. The following results were obtained, in 7, 8 and 9 years, tooth development of Angle Class III malocclusion group was significantly faster than that of Angle Class I malocclusion group. in 6 year and 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 years, the difference of tooth development degree between Angle Class III malocclusion group was not significant.

  • The dynamic problems of interface crack propagated with constant velocity along the interface of bimateraial composed of isotropic and orthotropicmaterial under antiplane loading condition are studied in this paper. The general dynamic stress fields and displacement fields of mode III are derived when interface crack between isotropic and orthotropic material is propagating with constant velocity. The general dynamic stress fields and displacement fields in isotropic material. Finally, the characteristics of interface crack propagation are studied with various properties of isotropic and orthotropic material and crack propagarion velocities.

  • In oder to compare and measure bond strength of ceramometal system with use of ceramco porcelain powder including SnO2 and uni metal, Rexillium III, Vera Bond as non precious alloys manufactured for porecelain-metal restorations. Total 24 test sample were constructed. All Test sample were measured with a Mitutoyo micrometer graduated to 0.01mm. It is as follows measured of thickness 3.3mm(metal : 1.1mm, porcelain: 2.2mm), width 12mm, length 30mm(porcelain 12mm x 12mm), Compared maximum bending stress test. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Bond strength of each metal with ceramco porcelain powder showed statistical significance.(P<0.05) 2. Vera Bond and uni metal, uni metal and Rexillium III revealed no statistical Significance.(P>0.05) Vera Bond and Rexillium III showed statistical significance.(P<0.05) 3. The order of maximum bending stress was Rexillium III, uni metal, vera Bond. The order of bond strength ratio making bending stress was Vera bond, uni metal, Rexillium III.

  • Background: Uroplakins have been widely investigated as potential markers in patients with bladder cancer because these proteins are specific to the urothelium. However, the role of uroplakin proteins in bladder cancer remains unknown. In this study, preoperative serum levels of uroplakin III were measured in patients with urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder and examined for possible association with clinicopathological features and clinical outcomes. Materials and Methods: This study included 52 bladder cancer patients at various stages and 28 healthy controls. Uroplakin III levels were detected in preoperative sera using an automated dot blot system and a micro-dot blot array. Results: There was a significant increase in serum uroplakin III levels in patients with bladder cancer as compared to healthy controls (p<0.05). In addition, serum uroplakin III levels were associated with muscle-invasive status, high grade and lymphovascular invasion (p<0.02). Log-rank tests indicated high serum uroplakin III to be significantly associated with cancer-specific mortality. Conclusions: Determination of serum uroplakin III level could be valuable for identifying patients with biologically aggressive bladder cancer.

  • Six hundred and twenty five isolates of Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae, cauing bacterial leaf blight (BLB) of rice, were classified into five pathotypes during $1979\~1983$ in Korea. Among them, 483 isolates$(77.3\%)$ were classified as pathotype I, 83 $(13.3\%)$ as pathotype II, 54$(8.6\%)$ as pathotype III, 3 $(0.5\%)$ as pathotype IV and 2$(0.3\%)$ as pathotype V. Pathotype I was the most prevalent throughout the country. Pathotype III was widely distributed in the western or southern parts of Korea, particularly in Jeonnam, Chungnam and Gyeongnam provinces. One isolate of pathotype IV was found in Gyeongnam in 1980, and two isolates were found in Jeonnam in 1981. Most of the isolates were obtained from Milyang 23 varietal group, while the isolates of pathotype III were collected from Yushin and Tongil varietal group.

  • PURPOSE: To find out how wearing a mask due to COVID-19 affects cardiovascular function as the pace of walking changes. METHODS: Forty-nine college students (27 men, 22 women) were subjected to treadmill exercises without masks (Group I) and wearing masks (Group II). The body temperature, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure were measured to determine the changes in cardiovascular function. These parameters were measured at rest (Control I), low-intensity (Control II), medium-intensity (Control III), and high-intensity (Control IV) before and after exercise. RESULTS: Significant differences in heart rate were observed between Control III and Control IV, and a significant difference in oxygen saturation was noted in Control IV. Significant differences in the exercise intensity change in Group II were as follows: Body temperature was Control IV compared to Control I and Control II, heart rate was Control III and Control IV compared to Control I and Control II, and Control IV compared to Control III. The heart rate was Control III and Control IV compared to Control I and Control II, Control IV for Control III, oxygen saturation was Control IV compared to Control I, blood pressure was Control II and Control III and Control IV compared to Control I, and Control IV compared to Control II. CONCLUSION: Exercising when wearing a mask affects the cardiovascular system. Therapists should consider the patient's condition when setting the exercise intensity. In particular, therapists should be more careful when setting the exercise intensity of patients with cardiovascular disease.
