Analysis on the Interference Effects from HAPS IMT-2000 System into Terrestrial IMT-2000 System in the Adjacent Bands (인접 대역에서 HAPS IMT-2000 시스템이 지상 IMT-2000 시스템에 미치는 간섭 영향 분석)

  • WRC-2000 allowed HAPS to provide IMT-2000 service in the bands 1885-1980 MHz, 2010-2025 MHz and 2110-2170 MHz which have been utilized by the conventional terrestrial IMT-2000 service. In this paper, we analyze the interference effects from HAPS into terrestrial IMT-2000 system in adjacent band. To do this, in this paper, we have analyzed the interference and the sharing criteria between HAPS and the conventional terrestrial/satellite mobile system by considering the service and system requirements, the specification of system and developing the interference scenarios and the analysis algorithms.

  • This paper describes IMT-2000 Testbed System which consists of ATM based IMT-2000 exchange(A-lMX), RNC simulator, HLR simulator, SCP simulator, B-ISDN subscriber simulator and MS simulator. Simulators were developed to verify the mobile functions and basic services of IMT-2000 like Videophone, VoD(Video on Demand), and Internet access. UPT(Universal Personal Telecommunication) service could be adapted well to this testbed system. Until the entire network elements are developed fully, this testbed system can be used to prove new services in IMT-2000 network.

  • IMT-2000 system is the third generation mobile communication system which aims at mobile multimedia services with global roaming. Like 2nd generation system, the IMT-2000 system is also under strong influence of interferences among active subscribers in the multiple access environment. That is, in multiple access environment, signals from one subscriber could interfere with others in the same cell or in the neighboring cells. The interference control in the IMT-2000 systems is much more difficult then the interference control in the 2ndgeneration CDMA cellular systems, since the transmitted power of a subcriber might be different that of others in the IMT-2000 system. In this paper, a parallel interference cancellation with traffic discrimination is proposed which can effectively cancel interferences by grouping the subscribers into several equi-power classes. As a conclusion, simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional partial PIC scheme in several aspects.

  • In this paper, we examined receiving parameters of IMT-2000 receiving system and also analyzed them through simulation based on the minimum specification of DCS and PCS mobile station. As a result of simulation, noise figure which is the parameter of specification of the receiving sensitivity is 7.21dB, 6.03dB, and 7.89dB in case of DCS, PCS and IMT-2000 respectively. Therefore we found the receiving sensitivity of IMT-2000 mobile station lower than that of DCS and PCS.

  • In 2006, ITU-R estimated the spectrum requirements for IMT-Advanced including IMT-2000 and its enhancements. And WRC-07 indentified four new spectrum bands for IMT system. Based on these results, there are many activities which are related with IMT system and its spectrum inside and outside of the country. This paper covers the next generation mobile telecommunication spectrum issues and outlook for the future of it.

  • In this paper, we made researches into considerations for the numbering plan for IMT-2000 that seems to be a unit system integrating cellular, satellite, PCS. The purposes of the numbering plane for IMT-2000 ARE SIMILAR TO IMT-2000 evolution form:constructing the numbering plane centering around UPT as a PRE-FPLMTS from and futhermore, adding terminal mobility to IMT-2000. For this paper, we established three numbering plans for IMT-2000 that accepts various considerations.

  • Interference scenarios involving and a methodology for a terrestrial international mobile telecommunication(IMT) system and mobile-satellite service(MSS) system in a co-channel environment are established. Taking into account a practical deployment situation for both systems, a computational simulation of interference in terms of the ratio of interference power to thermal noise(I/N) is performed in order to evaluate the co-frequency interference with the IMT system caused by the MSS system. The methodology and results could be used for planning an IMT deployment without an unacceptable interference impact caused by the MSS system.

  • ITU has considered the 3,400$\sim$4,200 MHz band, which is allocated worldwide on a primary basis to the FSS, as a candidate band for future development of IMT system. In this band, this paper presents the results of the sharing studies performed between FSS and IMT systems through the theoretical and simulation analysis on the interference from multiple IMT base stations into a receiving FSS earth station considering the interference mitigation techniques such as antenna tilt angle and 3 sectors on the IMT base station. By using the long-term and short-term interference threshold, the coordination areas for the FSS earth station are provided to share frequency in 3,400$\sim$4,200 MHz band between FSS earth station and multiple IMT base stations in future.

  • ITU-R WP 5D에서는 차세대 이동통신 시스템인 IMT-Advanced 시스템에 대한 표준화를 진행하고 있다. 이 표준화는 IMT-Advanced를 위한 표준화 일정, 서비스 요구사항, 기술적 요구사항, 평가 방법 등을 포함하며 최종적으로 각 사항들은 IMT-Advanced 후보 기술 제출 요청을 위해 외부 표준화 기관 등에 발송될 예정이다. 이중 IMT.TECH은 IMT-Advanced에서의 기술적 요구사항을 규정하며 IMT-Advanced 시스템 평가를 위한 최소 기술 요구사항, 주요 기술적인 항목에 대한 정의, 평가를 위한 항목 등을 주요 내용으로 한다. 본 고는 2008년 1월 WP 5D 1차 회의까지 작성된 IMT.TECH 문서의 주요 내용을 소개하고, 차후 일정 및 대응 방안에 대하여 논한다.

  • AAL2는 ATM 망에서 Low bit Rate의 음성이나 데이터를 Real-Time으로 전송하기 위해 만들어진 표준안이다. IMT-2000 System에서는 ATM을 근간으로 시스템이 구성되며, 이동전화 가입자의 음성패킷이나 Low bit rate 데이터를 전송하기 위해 AAL2를 채택하였다. 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000 System에서 AAL2를 구현하기 위한 시스템의 구조와 실제AAL2를 구현한 예를 보인다.
